That is such a great review you two, love it. Thought I’d add a few comments of my own, having purchased the TRex in Hong Kong a week ago and taken it out on a few trailwalks and runs. In full isolation of course and self-distancing of course! Everything you’ve said is exactly how I’ve found it - brilliant battery life, waterproof, lovely large bright screen I can read without my glasses, and accurate GPS - well almost, I’ll come back to that. I have found a few quirks, though, which I’ll learn to live with since to be honest the price is so reasonable that I feel a bit churlish in complaining, but here goes. The altitude and elevation measures aren’t that accurate. Going on three or four circular trailwalks and ending up where I started I expected the elevation gain and loss to be the same or near enough. Each time it was around 40-50m difference. Very odd given the GPS tracked where I’d been really accurately on a 2 dimensional map. Just can’t cope very well with 3 dimensions. Another problem is that while you have it in a workout mode, you can’t access any other normal functions. So on long trailwalks, even though the in-exercise stats are really good - apart from altitude and elevation - you can’t view your alerts, or check the compass, or set a timer, anything else really. And then my last gripe - I do still love this watch, really - is that the alerts seem to have stopped even though the Bluetooth connection to my iPhone has been very stable. Dropped some feedback to the support function in the app and received a chinese language response thanking me for my feedback but not addressing the queries. Never mind, and all that aside, this is a very cool piece of kit at an amazing price with a fantastically bright screen and incredible buttery life - if only they’d fix a few issues with a software upgrade soon, life would be rosy. Anyway, didn’t mean to write War and Peace, sorry. Great vid again, and yes please, do run over the thing in your car, there’s no way it could survive., could it??!
I got mine few days ago (did cost me around $162). Its a killer watch for the price. Truly bang for the buck! It has almost everything I wanted. I'd be even happier if I could answer a call from my watch and play my music from it (though controls are available once music is played on phone). I have tried 2018 apple watch myself and I went over to Amazfit tRex. I personally recommend this product to everyone. Thanks for the video guys! Best wishes from Nepal!

Just got mine. It's even better than the videos- there's a great deal to like about this watch, starting with the price point for this many features. Intuitive user interface, very easy to configure, and change configs, has all the health, weather, compass, and notifications I'm looking for, plus it's very light and super comfortable. 11/10 score.
Great video! I just purchased one just to try it out. Got the Chinese version though.. it’s not that bad, but it only has one language Chinese simplified..not even English.. but it’s cheaper than the international version. My came out less than 100 usd, around 90usd. I guess not just because it only has one language but maybe it’s because I got it a couple months after it came out so it’s not that “new” anymore. Some questions I have for the watch are, 1. I understand that it’s 50m waterproof. But is it only for fresh water? ( pool, river, pond....) What about salt water like going to the beach? Of course I’m not talking about scuba dive cause of the pressure and all that.. just simply casual beach swim and shallow snorkeling activities. 2. I wasnt able to change the volume for my music through the watch. I had to adjust it via phone. Anything wrong? Or is it maybe just with my watch itself? 3. For the exercise categories, I don’t have the triathlon selection. I heard it will be available for download in near future but not sure. Is there a way for me to download it now? Hello I have Amazfit GTR and think changing it with T-Rex because of gps, can you tell me, is t-rex gps faster in positioning? I mean on Gtr it tooks like 3-4-5 minutes to found my GPS signal
We have no problems with the T rex and gps. It comes up within 10-20 seconds. I can’t remember which video we show it but it is featured in one of them 👍
I am two days into ownership with my TREX. First, it’s brightness is weak. In daylight, it’s not bright enough. Not even close. And...there’s no way shown in the manual to boost its brightness. Another thing I don’t like is that when I turn my wrist to activate the watch and see the time, it takes two seconds to show. It’s S...L...O...W. Next, your eyes better be good because even if you have a small astigmatism, you’ll struggle to read the small numbers on the watch. These are detractors that have me awaiting the iWatch 6 and wearing this when I work and don’t care if my watch gets beaten up. Wish I hadn’t bought this.
Hi Dave. I have my T-rex since June 6th and I've been pretty happy with it so far. Maybe our milages vary (or perhaps our T-rex units vary) but I find the Auto brightness sufficient under the sun when I jog in the morning. Indoors I have it set by about 30%. As for raising my arm to wake the screen, I find it too sensitive even when set at 'normal', I turned off the AoD since my gentlest arm movement wakes the screen. Personally what I find a bit disappointing is the Amazfit app. Last update is a but buggy.
Can this watch do custom intervals during a run? As in I run 400m on a track, press a button, and it shows me the time taken for that particular interval, and at the same time continue recording the activity.
maybe dumb question, or answered in vid, but can you wear the watch and then not have your phone. I hate taking my big phone on me when I run, and would love to be able to have the data from the watch update my nike running app when I get back. can anyone be so kind as to let me know if this is possible. THANK YOU
Yes, it has a standalone GPS built in the watch, so you don't need to take your phone to track your run. I'm not sure if it synchronizes with your nike app, you should check the Amazfit site for all the specifications. en.amazfit.com/t-rex.html
It’s very simple, just because the Samsung watch was superior to the T rex , it doesn’t mean there aren’t any reasons to buy it. not everyone wants a Samsung watch and it would be a shame to leave those potential buyers hanging. So there is that....
