    Filmed in December 2018, Hysteria At The O2 captures Def Leppard celebrating the groundbreaking Hysteria, one of their two diamond-certified 10x platinum albums (the other being Pyromania). Performed in its entirety before a ravenous sold-out crowd, this momentous homecoming event is made all the more powerful as it was their long-awaited debut at the iconic O2 Arena in London.
    Six months later, just after their induction in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Def Leppard undertook a residency in Las Vegas at Zappos Theatre in Planet Hollywood. Hits Vegas, Live At Planet Hollywood is a 28-song deep dive into not only their greatest hits, but rarities and acoustic renditions.

    Huau... special thanks to let people know about the origins of Def Leppard with this song. This is why they were also part of the New Wave of the British Heavy Metal 80’s scene.

      @joaopaulohenriques1404 Před 2 lety +2

      @@charlesfitzgerald9631 What we consider hard-rock today was also heavy metal then. Bands like Def Leppard, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy were also part of the metal world from the 80’s. Sometimes the midterm was Hard’n’Heavy or Heavy Rock. But Def Leppard grew with the same vibe as Iron Maiden, Saxon and Judas Priest. They were part of that british movement.

    You simply must check out Wasted live 1983 from Dortmund, Germany. It is with original lead guitarist Steve Clark. Even though Vivian Campbell are doing a great job Steve's solo are more rough and heavy. On CZcams it's called Def Leppard Live from Germany part 2. There are a time stamp in the description

      Steve was the emotional part of this band back then...but on this very concert IMHO Joe really hit it hard,as to prove something to London or generally english crowd. In the 80s the music fans in england didn"t really get the band...Brian May came out to prove "em wrong when he introduced the band on stage during Freddie Mercury tribute concert in 1992.

    Ahhh back when Def Leppard was harder. I honestly loved their first 2 albums on On Through The Night and High N Dry. After that they got pop and more radio friendly, which a lot of people liked, but I personally didn’t like the direction they went, which I understand is more about succeeding to make more albums and money. I remember going to bed with the cassette of On Through The night and waking up in the morning with my headphones on my nose. Lol.

      You should check out their album "Retro Active", it's songs that were recorded during the Pyromania and Hysteria sessions that didn't make the albums (some covers, but mostly originals, including some from their very early days) most of it has that raw energy from the Pete Willis days.

      @yotaman2112 Před 2 lety

      @@jasonkadlec3929 no sir. He lost his arm in 1984. Pyromania was in 1983. A year before he lost his arm and it was “Mutt” Lange who steered them away from their edgy rock sound and more “radio friendly “ sounds so they were already in transition before his accident. I won’t say they were trashy, just not as hard as their first 2 albums, which I preferred as a teenager.

      @@yotaman2112 I am aware of when he lost his arm. I was just pointing out that three extremities instead of four would limit what he could do with his craft. Yes, Mutt certainly steered the ship from metal to AOR, which is basically what they became. Good thing AC/DC didn't stick with him.

    Look folks , this is the Album "On Through The Night" that Def Leppard wouldn't touch in Concert for years after Steve Clark passed away . It's nice that they've seen the light finally , and realized that this was a heart stopping album from start to finish . It has influenced countless Hard Rock / Metal bands after it came out , is one of the big reasons they got into the RNRHOF , and needed to be played .

      @chopps75 Před 2 lety

      This was when they had a lot of potential to be a solid British metal band, before they got with Mutt Lang and went the Pop-Rock route. (BTW, nothing wrong with pop-rock, just not as raw)

      @@chopps75 Well They had to evolve away from this album because Mutt Lange was producing AC/DC and Def Leppard at the same time . The Guys in Def Leppard wanted to move on from sounding similar to AC/DC , and be more Pop Metal in Pyromania , and Hysteria .

    Fun fact Steve Clark thought up that riff on the bus on his way to the spoon factory they used as a rehearsal room before they were signed, the story goes Steve came in didnt speak to anyone and went and plugged in his guitar and knocked out that riff , he said later he didn't want to talk to anyone as he came in in case he forgot the riff in his head , the song Wasted is rarely played and is off there debut album " On through the night "

    Vivian Campbell is the most underrated guitarist in the history of music. His riffs n solos when he was he was with Dio is what made me fall in love with the guitar. His days in Whitesnake were good but he was just a fill in n didnt get to showcase what he had. He joined these guys in 92 after Steve Clark passed away n they are a perfect match. No egos in this band just great musicians making great music.

    The REAL Def Leppard! Their first three albums were fucking GREAT heavy rock / metal albums. Then I don't know what happened to them? Did they willingly want to become a joke band? I have no idea, but the songs from the first three albums are fucking AWESOME! Honestly I think the members of Def Leppard are living in some sort of bubble that doesn't understand that the commercialized bullshit they've been coming out with all these years is NOT liked. Everyone wants Def Leppard to STOP being that idiotic band, and get back to their roots. I don't think it will ever happen, but I keep hoping.
