I love "Wasted." That's a really awesome story. I love hearing how Def Leppard's songs were written. My favorite track from 'On Through the Night" has to be "Overture."
Me too awesome song especially how young they were when they wrote it.
Same here !
mine would have to be rocks off or either rock brigade.
Sorrow is a woman
Wasted NEEDS to be played live this year on the North American tour!!
When Kerry king from slayer first met Jeff Hanneman he was sitting in a corner playin .... Def Leppards ,Wasted , Kerry thought cool I might start a band with this guy , the song transcends to all metal heads
Def Leppard forever!!!!💛
That song rocks, there are several perfect songs on that lp. I especially like how that album is more 79 than 80. It shows the style of the time. Songs with hearts still attached to the artist, while rockin'.
The first song that got me into Def leppard back in december 1981!
Thank you Joe. Def Leppard 4ever my love ❤
Can't wait to hear Wasted played live at a gig this year.
It's great that he considers "Wasted" the standout song of OTTN cause it's one of my favorites Def Leppard's songs.
I love hearing these stories about their music. It never gets old & Joe is such a sweetheart not to mention a true hottie even now. Thanks for the memories guys 💜
I got into them last year and the song that really hooked me to them was "Let it go" that song will make you rock out all the time, regardless of mood or weather haha.
wasted and rock brigade awesome classic lep song.
please play HELLO AMERICA in BELFAST.
that song is amazing.
Well I'm takin' me a trip I'm going down to California
Yeah, I'm gonna try Hollywood and San Pedro Bay
I remember hearing this a long time ago unfortunately I have to leave but maybe I'll relook at it later I have heard it before though years ago I'd love leopard for a long time so you know I looked at a lot of videos prior to the 3 years I went into the Christian music that I'm writing now
Wasted. always my fave song !!!!♥
This is my "gun to the head" song. Meaning it's nearly impossible to choose an absolute fave song because they have so many great ones, but if you put a gun to my head & made me pick a favorite, it would be "Wasted".
100% agree. Just an amazing riff and the first riff I learned to play.
omygod... that riff is one of my favorites hehe...... 😔😔😔❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
My favorite song from that album

Wasted love it
That's a great song. Def leppard. Forever. Joe Elliott always had a great voice. That's talent.for ya.🤘
Steve Clark was the soul of the band.
YES! 🫶✌️
Answer To The Master is my favorite from OTTN
When Leppard use to rock hard. Too bad they deny where they came from
You guys should play it live at something other than one-off shows.
Waisted is Awesome. Yep I miss Steve Clark he could play guitar like he's making love to it only ppl n music understand what I'm saying but you guy's kept on going like you did & all is good. Phil Collin is just as good on guitar you Guy's are Awesome promise you that! 🕸🖤🕸
he played just as hard as phil or pete.
Idk Overture was pretty amazing as well.
Better Run for cover, cuz it looks like rain again...
They lost alot with the exit of Steve Clark and Pete Willis and also of course Rick Allens accident want to see Petes input in songwriting check out (No No No ) from high and Dry kick axe
RARE honesty from Elliot. In pretty much every interview I have ever heard his refusal to give, afford Steve his due credit is to me sickening, there would be NO Leppard and NO success without Steve. Fact. Period.
One-Eye.....thanks for the reply mate...I respectfully DISAGREE......we ALL have subjective views however I go on what I have read, the interviews of the people that were present, Steve pretty much penned all of the tracks, or heavily co penned the first 4 albums period.
Elliot's views I find repugnant but that is MY opinion, Elliot slips n slides in and out of different positions with respect to the REAL not IMAGINED influence of Steve.
Steve WAS Leppard, he was the driving force creatively, Elliot and Sav also were the band members that had the drive to get out and push the boundaries but Mutt was really the extra Leppard member.
And remember this fact - Steve quit several times, he said verbatim to Elliot if they did not start playing gigs he'd quit as "I don't still want to be in this bloody spoon factory rehearsing in years time".
Steve was more than the primary song writer, he had it all, his hero who he emulated down to the smallest detail in Page was amazing, Steve took over the stage when the curtain went up...
But Steve also is responsible for some of Leppards biggest hits, the songs that broke Leppard in the US initially, and even after his passing 'Adrenalize' if you listen has the 'Riffmaster' all over it.
Also, Steve bequethed Leppard a legacy that one cannot put a price on, or measurement on - a back catalogue that to today Elliot uses on the arena set lists with a small sprinkling of post 'Riffmaster' songs.
Love and Affection, GoW, TLFL, BoTHB, Photograph's opening riff which arguably as simple but cranked up to 10 on that truly masterful Kahler trem creme triple pick up Les Paul, the small things that 'Steamin' left as his legacy are unquantifiable.
So we will agree to disagree, and if you've not already I strongly recommend you look up a web site run/maintained by an amazing bloke that has a treasure trove of 'Riffmaster' details...in 'In Loving Memory
Steve Clark...as it is again just a fucking mind blowing gift from a fan of Steve's that ALL Leppard/'Riffmaster' fans MUST enjoy...so thanks for your reply, appreciate your views...

William, you did say it yourself. Steve Co-penned songs. On Wasted, Steve and Joe are the only listed writers. Steve has said in interviews that he hated being in the studio. He loved playing live more.
Joe always gives Steve his due. It's "imaginary" that he has ever put a slight on Steves contributions to the band or as a person period.
Wasted was a great song! Joe still has to get in a dig about Steve Clark whenever he mentions him.
Robbie Ellis what? What you mean by get in a dig about steve clark?
I disagree. Joe always pays Steve Clarke the highest of compliments. I certainly didn't think that Joe was giving him any "digs". He was just telling the story.
He digs on him like a brother.
He thoroughly trashed Steve in an article in Kerrang magazine in 1992 a year after his death. He has said some not too flattering things over the years. I hear compliments from Rick Allen and Phil Collen but not from Joe. But it is what it is. I just didn't think he had to mention how he was always late to rehearsals.
For the record, nearly everything Joe says here was also mentioned in Animal Instinct which of course is from 1987. Including the part about Steve consistently being late for rehearsals.
Pete Willis
Worst "metal" song 🤘🏻
