Phil played in all of the styles and unique riffs that Steve would have absolutely loved -especially with such intensity. That pulls at the heart strings every time. And another great tribute song is "From the inside" that Joe wrote that touches on the evils of addiction. I thank these guys for playing and touring, it gives me that extra push to carry on with life, and I was only 11 years old when I first heard them

I wanna touch u rn is prolly my favorite, my mom didn't like this album when it came out when she was my age and she still don't. I myself think its a masterpiece, its prolly my all time favorite album from them, lot of good stuff on there, like all the songs.
When I got the Adrenalize album in high school we were all big fans. I got the cassette lol.. and went out driving to listen to it. Let’s get Rocked was already being pushed as the big single. When I got to this song I was driving though stark semi-desert, with the sun low and bright but dark storm clouds around the horizon. The song blew me away and became my favourite instantly. When I was bad in school the next week, some friends were discussing the album and I finally said: “I kind of like White Lightning”, not expecting much reaction, since it’s a low key song and I had listened to it in the perfect environments, BUT all my friends said instantly “YES!”. VERY underrated song. The fact that it’s about Steve’s deterioration just made it all the more poignant.
My favorite song on that album is Stand up. Although I can really understand the love for white lightning being the fact its a tribute song. For me there is something really special about Stand up I really enjoy. This album over all is really good but I think what left a sour taste in Joe's mouth with this album was the death of Steve. Not sure if I would like something that would remind me of someone's death every time I heard it.

Wish they could give us another record like Adrenalize, which was the last great record they did, IMO, other than Retroactive, which was a B side collection album. White Lightning truly is a masterpiece. One of the best Leppard has ever done.
I agree, Joe. Even it´s the most underrated song from Adrenalize (not even highlighted on blue hyperlink on the Wikipedia article for Adrenalize), that song just blew my mind. I bought the album back in 1995 because of Have you Ever Needed Someone So Bad and Let´s Get Rocked, but when I got to WL, I was like "wow, I found the best reason to have this album" and one of the best songs I´ve ever listened to.
In Phil’s All About Steve Clark documentary Phil said he and Steve originally wrote some of the riffs together and when Steve died the song ended up being about Steve Clark.
Well put by Joe. Its their Glam Rock album like the 70's Glam Rock that influenced them. Very good interpretation of the album. I like that Leppard never felt like doing the same exact thing on each album that many other bands did.

There's a few clunkers on adrenalize. Personal property, make love like a man. But there is also at least three epic ballads. Stand up kick love into motion is really one of the last iconic Steve Clark riffs. In terms of writing it anyways. A lot of the stuff was still written with Steve, have you ever, tonight, stand up, heaven is, tear it down... Half the album was written with Steve. The remaining half is not as strong with white lightning being great. Let's get rocked It's pretty divisive as far as singles go with Def Leppard. Make love like a man and personal property I think are borderline a little cringe. I want to touch you is catchy and harmless I guess but certainly not a classic.

There's not a bad song on that album. I remember buying it on my 10th birthday and listened to 4 times in a row without skipping a beat.

Sorry Joe , no matter how the wind blows, I think most of Adrenalize is average at best. I do think Slang and Euphoria were much better though.
