Carl Ruiz was a celebrity chef known for his love of good food and his anti-vegan/vegetarian humor, which he regularly took the piss in his tweets or on his t-shirts.
With his philosophy of the absolute eating of meat he indirectly brought many people to death.

A brilliant chef, a sweet, funny guy, who lived and loved his native food. I have sorely missed his beautiful personality since his death. Knowing the cause of death does not surprise me. He loved his food a little too much and perhaps he should have dieted and exercised more. But he enjoyed his life and laughed more. He may have died young, but he lived well and laughed enough for 5 people. He had a full, lovely life. Blessed be dear Carl.

When Carl was a boy, he, his brother George and I were always playing in the neighborhood. We would hang out with some of our other friends on the street, Doris, Manuela and Pam. Us guys decided at some point to try to record a rap song, me being the aspiring DJ (and later a professional one). I still have all those tapes including the outtakes. Boy we had fun back then. I never knew he would become a celebrity chef or that his brother would become a well-respected cardiologist. I really miss that time in my youth. And there are so many stories I could tell about back then!

I noticed that he had lost quite a bit of weight in recent months, if you compare to older videos ; he was much bigger. He must have been getting a grip on his health but unfortunately it was too late. I hope Chef Eric Greenspan learns from Carl's early passing and gets his weight under control before it's too late for him as well. Rip Carl -I will truly miss you ❤️ 😥
