Who’s watching this cause the remastered version is here
Da Choking Lad maybe! 😂
I am. I just got the remastered version for PC. I'm loving this game so far.
I got it for the switch and I'm only grinding so I've barely gotten to the second boss and I'm like level 12 I really need to know how to level up faster
Yup! I haven’t touched it since the PS3 version but I got the remastered version
Eat your cereal
When it starts to run away, go into menu and them back out. It will change directions making it easier to catch.
Or just use veil
@@XYOdin
Not everyone has Veil when hunting their first Toko or Tokotoko
I wouldn't call it cheating exactly. It's kind of like farming metal slimes in DQ games.
Neato!
XD
The first of the dead
Jeepers
@@flamelightning5428 creepers!
@@lain11644 Where'd you get those peepers?!
Another thing that helps is, when you get the spell from Horace, use veil to sneak up on the Tokotoko. You have to get inside Perdida to be able to do it, though. Horace is inside Swift Solutions there (if you've been keeping up with his riddles).
I LOVE THIS GAME...ok now that I made it clear...lol..Seriously this game sucked me in from day one and did not let go. I hope that there will be a sequel for this game!!
missgraceandmercy Sequel is out
Guess what, pal?
@@krsynx I'm sure the sequel isn't what they expected.
:))
thanks man, now I know where I have to go to really get my characters levels built up.
got to admit though, the bosses in this would make awesome legendaries
I tried doing this at level 18. Didn't turn out too good.
the best thing about RPGs is the grinding, can't wait to pick this up :)
Great stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Attacking and killing these things is easy. What's hard is that they NEVER re-spawn!
If he sees you and start running away from you, cast the "seek fortune" spell, while the text is displaying enemies can´t move, but you can.
loving this game so far!
Grinding in an RPG is relaxing to me. ^_^
I guess every RPG has its Audino :P
I need to watch this for the remastered version
Thanks man :) What lvl were you when you caught it?
Once you beat the game, you can find rare golden monsters. the 4th version of of the Toko species can be found in golden version but its ridiculously rare and doesnt give much more XP than the toko cold.
Thanks for this big helping info (:
Well, it is a JRPG, grinding is a part of the game, and I didn't really look into it, I sort of just flew around until I found an island I liked leveling at, and I didn't realize it was that good until I found this video.
Awesome! Just picked up this game today, waiting for it to install.
Technically you don't have to find them in the overworld. As long as you know where they spawn and with who in their team, you can find them in other monster encounters. Like when I walked up to thumblemur on the island and there was one in its team. Once you know that finding them is not as hard.
Couldn't agree more
Who do they typically spawn with?
btw there's not much grinding in ni no kuni if you do some secondary quests
Thank you soooo much I'm headed there right now!!!
alot of rpg's still have grinding incorporated within the gameplay and progression most times requires it for levels or items/weapons. It will never go away
I have a story about this game so when I played this game a second time today I needed to do a quest about spring water and plain something flowers I had no idea there were spots of that flower so I was hunting left to right trying to get one more flower and when I finally got it I was lvl 7 and my first team member I didn’t even go in the sewers yet and I’m so high lvl then I look at a speed run and they walk straight where u begin and got the flower I was looking for so I just realize I could had saved lots of time of just walking straight to the flower
is there anymore spot i can find a tokotoko? ive been in the path doing gateway back and forth for 30 mins and no luck to find even one
very helpful! thanks!
I tamed a toko I didn't know you could. And I found a tokotoko down that path from Perdida so you don't have to be near the city just near that hill. Hope that helped (:
I knew this was gonna be about the tokotoko. Goddamn those things are awesome.
Does the difficulty affect the Xp or does it just add challenge?
I finally tamed one and a Dinoceros. I named the Toko Marshmallow and the Dinoceros Terminator. Today was a good day.
I love grinding in rpgs xd after every boss in most games I level up 15 times then own the next one xd and feels worth itt
On the Cliffs above Temple of Trials/Desert/Al Mamoon Area, only after you get Tengri. Its not that he'll get super mad over it, but he bought it, even though he didnt know about it until I showed him the trailers lol. Its kind of a pride thing since my other brother and I are younger and used to watch my OTHER 2 bros who are older play games back in the days, so now, they don't like it when we tell them how to play the games lol.
About what level should i be to be able to fight them? Cuz i went there at around level 24 and got destroyed by the surrounding mobs :(
How to catch Tokos theres a glitch where if you put your map spell list or inventory eneimes will turn EVERY ENEMY WILL TURN
They are quite rare spawns on the Genie's steps surrounding Al Mamoon
well theres a easier way to find tokotoko if you try to fight all the enemies on that road beacause they randomly spawn you know, so the more enemies you get rid of on that slope the bigger the chances. good luck ;)
Sounds like the Metal Slime system of Dragon Quest. I like it!
Trying to do some grining right now. I was just going to grind with just Toko before I beat the game but now I'm going to attempt to fight Tokotoko instead. Those easy leveling up instead of fighting "tough" enemies that only give out 300 exp and die easily.
Dude, what an epic video, thank you so much, it helped me.
epic? ffs
It's because they want to maintain the formula rather than taking a risk by trying something new. Also because they don't want to make a console pokemon rpg game, since it would require much more risk than sticking with the formula. Good thing Pokemon is not the only high-quality JRPG series =D
I never had to stop and grind before bosses… I just used a LOT of coffee.
Cheater😅
I've found by doing all the side missions you tend to be over-leveled anyway.
I quit playing this game because of how grindy it is. Even on the easier "I want the story" setting it expects you to spend hours just running around fighting things. Gorgeous game with an interesting story hidden by an insane amount of grinding :/
This reminds me on Dragon quest 7 and Bravely Default damn i was grinding jobs for days XD
Still beats Warframe by a long shot.
How can you not enjoy some of the grinding? It’s all worth it. Top ten games of all time on my list.
This game looks so fucking good. PS3 seriously has the best exclusives.
Toko eh? * uses evenstar *
Good to know!
It does... I mean, he's biting his own tail. xD
The ones I want are, Lumberwood for Esther, Dinoceros for Oliver, a Mandragorer and Sapdragon.
My only (small gripe) was their decision for the evolutions in ni no kuni. Whereas in pokemon, they ACTUALLY evolve (I'm looking at you, Magikarp) all evolutions in NNK are reskins :/ it's still a great game, but that was probably my biggest dissapointment
Hey Where did you get that :( I want a dragon genus for Oliver :((
Can someone tell me why I keep only doing 1 hp of damage to my enemies in certain fights? I do fine with magic but if I try attacking i just end up dying
Yeah, but with Double-Planet that gives him a 10% more experience, it will be Easy... well it will take some time. I just want him, because he have an extraordinary evasion, so if I concentrate around Magic, it will be a KILLER!
Literally the golden hands from persona 4 golden. Time to get to grinding
Right after I watched this video I didn't know the tokotocold was already in front of me and it ran :(
Okay so I just spent the last week playing this game non stop, i'm at the end and decided to see if there was any trips and tricks like this on youtube or gamefaqs yet for this game. I do this for every RPG. I'm a die-hard RPG fan and I usually search into these kind of things for them as soon as I can, I decided not to for Ni No Kuni and i've just realised how much more fun it is NOT looking for these things and just playing the game. Trust me my fellow RPG addicts, it's much better.
So basically this 'Toko' is the Cactuar of Final Fantasy :) Running away etc !
Or the eletric robots in breath of fire 4
Or metal slimes in Dragon Quest 😂
I can't find toktok on the island to go to find it what should I do
It's different and both cater to different audiences. Ni No Kuni's combat system is a little too much for the main audience who plays Pokemon. It doesn't matter if it would be good, Nintendo will never change the formula that much; Pokemon sells millions and while continuing to use the formula, but makes small tweaks, it keeps it's main audience interested.
My team is for now lv 37 final form Mite, lv 41 electrogo, lv 35 godsun, just grind on perdida and yule, and the forgotten mines. Best spot 367 xp but its a mid help
thank you im grinding xp for shadar CAUSE HES SO HARD
Do they still run faster than you even if you have the speed boost from the merit badge bonus?
yes
Sooo they are basicly the metal slimes of this game
Awesome thanks :) what's the best level to be at to defeat the white witch out of curiosity?
Sarah Ford I was around level 60
Sarah Oho well you could get to 99 to make the battle as easy it can be(well unless you switch to easy) but you can easily defeat most final bosses in JRPG's at around lv. 60 but not all of them are like that, for example the Kingdom Hearts games use action RPG combat which means you don't have to grind to beat the final boss because you can just dodge every attack heck Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix has an ability exclusive to Critical(the hardest difficulty) called No Experience which does what it says, so you can beat the final boss at Lv. 1 but it does require mastering all the dodging ability's
Jeremy Vandale I'm recalling the White Witch battle now. I'm not much of an RPG kind of guy (Pokemon and a bit of Digital Devil Saga..), and it was pretty tough at level 60, but still doable. So many good memories with this game! :) Looking forward to the sequel.
yeah around 60 i was 65 when i defeated her
@@jeremyvandale9252 i'm at Timeless River atm if u ever played KH
i've been playing this for so long, and have just been grinding..
but allways when i was in a battle with a toko it dissapeared? :(
will do! I'm about to get the Dragon.
thumbs up if the veil spell helped you catch the tokos. :)
Hmm, I'm close to claiming the ship. I may just do this.
I just got the boat and get myself a Toko with Double-Planet, I mean, I'M EXTREMELY LUCKY!!!, since to catch one is only a 2% chance.
Lucky Me! =D
I said it pretty often! Level 5 needs to make a Pokémon game for Wii U and it would be great! X///3
I tamed a toko cold the first time i saw it in ivory castle pure luck!
grinding is normal like every JRPG
i was so under leveled that when i went to this island the tokos always ran toward me weird
Really reminds me of blue dragon
going back to the Golden age? doesnt sound bad at all :)
do the creatures evolve?
*2*
go to tactics and set:'all attack leaders target'
use your spells
now do this when you are level ~20-30. im now 41 and enemies can still do great damage.
you can use magic constantly since its going to be refilled after every battle.
*To increase tokos spawn rates, stand behind the trees on the sandy part, then use the gateaway trick! Tokos spawn rarely. you have to give it some go's*
Huh? Im confused
When I heard this had a lot of grinding in it...I was immediately turned off to get it at 60 bucks. Although when it's dirt cheap I'll probably pick it up since it wouldn't bother me to much to set it aside for awhile when I got tired of grinding.
Coward
Menu like press start, or provitions and spells menu
I’m not the only one who’s keeping that Mighty Mite, eh?
nope
Found one but it got away, been grinding at it for an hour and no more have spawned, can someone help me out? Thanks!
save and reload after an encounter
No wonder I was leveling crazy. I was like wtf, why? Now I know.
Grinding is to RPG as shooting is to an fps, its a part of da gaming style n we RPG fans love it.
Persona is still awesome •﹏•
Can these monsters be fought more than once?
yes
i just played black 2 and just like every other game the main thing about it is fun
Honestly, I miss old-style RPGs. I wouldn't mind going back to the Golden Age.
Yeah your right. it's all about Regen health, 2 weapon limits, abusing FPS and TPS games. What have we come to?
I'm playing on Nintendo Switch. Just started. Only 3 hours in.
When ever you get the chance make sure to heal your team since you can be sent into boss battles out nowhere when doing storyline quests
Do these tokos respawn once you defeated them???
Yes.
Grinding in Ni No Kuni isn't a hassle. As a matter of fact, it's pretty awesome! You don't feel bored while grinding, unlike in some RPGs. To me, if a develepor successfully makes their grinding fun and hassle free, then congratulations, you just made your RPG 50% awesome-r!
I've honestly played this game over the last 2 weeks for about 50-60 hours and probably 20 of them come from grinding. I have yet to get bored of it, I'll most likely only use these methods if I find the post-game too hard, which I doubt.
Omg ps3 certainly has the best exclusive in the business!! I only have xbox 360 but I definitely will buy a ps3 for this game and beyond! Ps4 is certainly my next console of choice!
Oh and lv 42 Dualynx. Best healer brhind greater naiad
can you tame tokos?
If i were oliver i would say jeepers
Problem is they are very rare. They don't re-spawn too much.
I played on Ugly Duckling Isle before I went to work this morning, and in the span of 15 minutes, I defeated at least 6 Tokos. The respawn isn't that bad, especially when you save after each encounter and restart the game, which really doesn't take that long.
@@JenniferStogner bro that's smart 😂👍🏼
I'm only level 19 and I'm at hamelin already :(
sorry mate but i think you're lying, theres no way to beat the al- keemi boss at 19 let alone the tentacle one of the fairy island.
***** why would I lie? I buy a lot of sandwiches that's why I don't die
Mishka Dahlbäck Nooo way you're at Hamelin at lv19. No way.
I died many times being there so I went to coastal Cove to level my shit up
Mishka Dahlbäck It's ok, I did that at level 20. Just used Oliver's spells, alternated between healing, casting and coffee whenever he went into the pot. Took forever, but did it first try :)
Esther died in the first minute, as usual. Right helpful, she is.
Pokemon X and Y is a step in the right direction.
