      How differently do you look at the park now

  • @eliasmertens9313
    @eliasmertens9313 Před 5 lety +14

    The park will totally be relocated. It's operated by a large amusement company. The land that is being used for the redevelopment was owned by the Kroenke Company, not leased from the city. Kroenke or Premier could sue the city government for the money that the land is worth. The city is likely to settle since if they decide to take it to higher courts, they are more likely to lose more money since the higher courts are not in favor of eminent domain for public use. Either way, they will get a large sum of money that they could use to start a new park. Plus they have plenty of assets in the current park that could either be reused in a new park, or auctioned off to fund the new park. Elitch is a household name in Denver, one of the largest cities in America, and already has a large local fan base that could support a new park. Any smart company would just relocate the park, especially with some of the newest investments into the park, especially the waterpark. Whereas they could sell the newest waterpark additions for a quarter of what they paid to install them, they could relocate them for a fraction of what they would've made selling it, but the attraction would still draw in guests. Thanks for the ted talk. I agree people will come. We’ve been conditioned to love the park and it’s so nostalgic. It would be especially great if they move it out by the airport bc then it’ll still be easy to drive to. That’s one of the reasons we’re gonna miss the downtown location: it was easy to get to whether you drove or you took the RTD to get there. I hope that when they move they get rid of twister 2 bc it’s out of shape and I hope to see more newer rides at the park. I think they’ve done good with the water park portion of the park. Knobels Twister design was taken from the Original Mr. Twister at the old Elitch Gardens. The original was built in 1965. This new twister was built from Scratch in 1995 when the park moved from West Denver to Downtown Denver. Elitches sold the blueprints of the Original Old Twister to Knobels and they rebuilt it but made it a mirror image with a double lift hill. The Original Mr. Twister in West Denver was once ranked the 3rd greatest coaster in America!

    If a new Elitch theme park is built in the Denver area, I think most of the rides will be moved over but Twister 2, the Observation Tower, Disaster Canyon, and Shipwreck Falls aren't likely to make it over and Mind Eraser doesn't deserve to make it over. The new rides that can continue their roles are an RMC Hybrid called either "Metallic Twister", "Metal Twister", or "Steel Twister", a Vekoma STC called "Mind Revision", a Mack PowerSplash called "The Shipwrecker", and a modern river rapids rides using the boats from Disaster Canyon. They could also later add in an RMC Raptor as well. Another commenter posted that they could put it near the airport which I think is a perfect location (that airport is going to be my layover if my trip to Yellowstone in tommorow if it doesn't get cancelled). If Elitch Gardens decides to not keep Sidewinder then I hope either Knoebels Amusement Resort in Pennsylvania or Silverwood Theme Park in Idaho buys it.

When the best coaster out of 6 is an old Arrow shuttle loop, things are gonna be tough. I get they were tight in space but there were better options too. Hopefully they can relocate and add some more signature rides. At least Denver still has Lakeside, I’d rather go there anyway over the current Elitch.

    I have been to over 50 theme parks and by far this is the worst park I have even been to. Just about all the rides are rough, uncomfortable, painful, and bang your head up. Your park is only as good as your rides. If your rides suck, your park sucks.
