- Bergsdalen is a beautiful river valley to the east of Bergen. With a wide network of hiking trails, this area is home to a number of mountain cabins. This makes it a perfect destination for those who want to escape the city life of Bergen. On our hike, we started in the Bergsdalen area and then cut through the mountain range on our way to finish in Øystese, a cute little Norwegian town located on a fjord.

🙏🏼👌🏼🥰
Did this exact trip with some mates: as another commenter has said, instead of the taxi service, there is a bus that goes up to the trail route. Also, when we did it, it rained a lot, so the streams were swollen and we had to do a couple of ‘river crossings’ and on the third day it can get quite treacherous and slippery if it’s wet so do watch out for the weather! Aside from that, beautiful hike, would recommend.
Agree- simply awesome! Loving the Norwegian footage and views! Thank you
Thanks ☺️
Simply awesome video. The film quality and cinematography are on another level.
Thanks for the kind words! ☺️
Such a nice trip it was and amazing video you made of it! I loved watching it and relived that weekend 🤩 & thank you so much for shoutout!! 🥰
What a weekend that was!!! Knees are still feeling it 🤣
So beautiful!
Absolutely!
just beautiful...
Many thanks!
really nice, thank you!
Thanks for watching ☺️
Nice video :) I live in this valley and I can recommend the trip. Also a trip to "Breidablikk" hut is a nice trip but be prepared for some wind there. - you can travel from Vending to Breidablikk then to Øystese.
Nice! So many hiking trails out there! 😁
Awesome! Thank you. Thinking about doing just an overnighter there to Hogabu with the family. Do we need to bring sleeping bags and pads? (It didn't look like you guys had all that in the little packs)
No because the hut has all the equipment… beds with sheets and pillows.. we used a sleeping bag but it’s not necessary
@@worldwildhearts Wow!! I am so excited. Definitely going to do this. Thank you so much for your video. Stay safe and find another Rainbow today.
Nice.:)
Wow great 👌😍
There is also bus going from the train station to the trailhead, just a few times a day though
That would be helpful and saving some money!
The hikes looks great! How much did the taxi to Dale cost? Thanks.
It was quite expensive… about 100$ but we shared among all of us
what time of year did you do this hike, what is the weather prognosis for June?
We did this hike at the end of July and it still pretty much rained one full day 😅😂 We had one small snowy patch on the way as well, but other than that it was snow-free. June might have more snow though so bring ice crampons or send an email to the DNT to check before you go
how much was your trip? :) great video, thxxx
The hut-to-hut? The stays in the huts were pretty cheap. Don't remember exactly. We also bought our food supplies from the store. So not bad at all! Just transportation to get there was pricey
So I see that you guys are eating lunch meat on your third day into the trip.. how did you keep it cold?
Good question! We just brought it in our backpacks for the hike. Temperatures were cold enough that it stayed cool.
i liked the video a lot but unfortunately it portrayed the hike not as it really is. it has many challenging parts and paths close to steep edges. it seems quite simple and straight forward but one needs a lot of experience to do this hike in 3 days! i did it this summer and I'm quite experienced but for someone else watching this video it might be dangerous not knowing the way of these mountains...
Thanks for sharing your experience! We hiked this trail with our friends who live in Bergen. They are pretty good at trail finding. But it's definitely a physical challenge. Especially day 2 felt very long and tiring! Snow conditions would make it even harder
Although I am enjoying the videos I also sick of the digital nomads. Most of them create massive issues. Less paid locals cannot compete on property market and their life quality suffers. Good example is Portugal .
I don’t think all digital nomads are like this though. We usually stay only 1 week at most in a city / place so we actually boost the local economy 😅 I don’t think our hotel room would be cheaper than any other tourist staying there
