It never stops amazing me how far people will go to get away with it, EVEN WITH THE COP
I'm a retired Gulf War veteran. I was always very fit and active. Unfortunately during my military career I injured both hips in separate incidents. At the age of 50 both hips had to be replaced. During my recovery from having the first one replaced I was issued a temporary handicapped parking permit. It was difficult for me to find any available handicapped parking spaces when I needed one. There were lots of cars with no permit parked in handicapped parking spots. My one observation was that many of the people parking illegally were morbidly obese. My thought was that to help these individuals to loose some weight and get in better shape there should be a special permit issued to them. The permit would force them to park in special, reserved parking spots that are the ones furthest from the entry doors of the building. That would help them get some much needed exercise.

I watched a woman park in a handicap spot at a Dollar General this afternoon while I was on lunch break. She got out of her car with I'm guessing 8 inch heels on along with a hoochie skirt and a hulter top and that was it. I saw a police car two spots over from her car, when she came out she found a $350 ticket and because her license plate sticker expired in Sept 2023 she got another ticket along with another one for a broken tail light ( the whole thing was smashed ). Some people just don't learn .. oh-well that wasn't my problem.
Think about this ADA was passed into law 33 years ago and is it working to protect us that really need those Handicapped parking spaces ABSOLUTELY NOT?. I happen to live in Benton Harbor,Michigan and I just got my new Disabled license plate and it cost me 228.00 dollars and in my little town they don't enforce Handicapped parking anywhere in our County??????. Such a Discrace in our own County of Berrian all they worry about is how much Tourist money is coming in????
More cities need to take this approach it’s like a cash cow

I thought it was $1,000 ticket it's a felony you go to jail your vehicle gets towed your license get suspended using somebody else's placard handicap placard that's what I thought
