- Will these upgrades make the Logitech G29/G290 system faster AND more fun? I found the ultimate Logitech wheel, pedal and shifter upgrades for both console (PS4, PS5 and XBox) and PC. No stone is left unturned with these upgrades. Inverted pedals, clutch and brake upgrades, sequential shifter mod, a handbrake that actually WORKS on console (!!)... the list goes on.

"Pro" tip- GT7 is practically undriable w/o ABS at least on default if you want to be competitive.
Agreed. I figured running with zero assists would be the best way to expose just how bad that stock brake pedal is haha
bro that is GT Sport LOL
Haha ya... also that.
feels weird to see someone throw so much time, money and effort on entry level playstation parts for sim racing. I kinda wanna see you partner with a company to try out some different high end sim rigs then build something up with help of dirt fish to get it as close to reality as possible.
Well… that’s exactly what’s happening haha. The new high end rig is already coming together. Can’t wait 👍
@@runthejoules ohh man this sounds like it'll be a great video and a fantastic series, talk about making us jealous
The load cell work great with the G series wheels …. I also have the Acelith mods 🤣
It's way cheaper than buying new high end gear when you only have a PlayStation because of the many things that aren't compatible with PlayStation
Considering that for console there is not much option i think is a great video to see how you can improve a basic set up into something a bit better and slightly more competitive
Man took "You can paint a turd gold and cover it in glitter but it’s still a turd" to the test 😂
Reminder that Lando Norris uses a G923 at home. Even with crayon, a person can create a masterpiece. It is about the skill of the user, not the tool being used.
Really looking forward to seeing the next level up. Subscribed just to keep track of this journey!
Thanks for the video. I ordered the truebrake kit based on your review.
Only thing I have to say is that the great thing about the higher end sim racing games is that their setting are very in depth. That being said with the original G29 setup you just need to set the max braking distance within the game by pressing the pedal as far as you can then adjusting accordingly. Obviously you're not gonna put it all back together but it is a thing. Being a used set as well there's a chance the original owner "upgraded" the brake stop in it or possibly removed it. May be something to look into with the settings even with the new setup.
Solid upgrades! I have the Trueforoce brakes, paddle shifter ring, and shifter magnets and that alone is already great. I def want the inverted peddle mounts next!
my inverted pedals mount involved removing plastic and blting the metal pedals to a plate i bought from scrapyard for 2 bucks and i screwed it to the wall best thing i ever did couldnt drift after 40 gours inverted pedals i was figuring it out in 20 minutes throttle control is key
i also spaced them more realistic spacing based on my real life first truck ive driven for 15 years
Cool video. Thanks for sharing
So weird running into the loam ranger durring my rabbit hole dive into sim racing.... Dude has videos for all of my most expensive hobbies.
I had that same handbrake setup for my G29 for ps5. It was the only one that was compatible and I must say it worked like a charm!
Loam Ranger and sim racing... subbed!
Haha hell ya stoked to find you on here glad to have met you at the Rocky Mountain rally on Sunday!
Good to meet you too! Hope to see you at the next one.
Thank you for this video, I'm an xbox owner and have just started into the world of sim racing, I've bought the G920 set for a few reasons, first I'm not sure if I'm going to love racing and being on console my options are very limited, if I don't like it resale of my G920 will be pretty straight forward (according to Ebay) also it's relatively in expensive to get started, since buying the set I can say it's great fun, I've bought the truebrake mod and that is a truly game changing mod for the standard pedals, I've watched a few other videos where they swap the springs into the other pedals, Brake spring into throttle, throttle into clutch, discard clutch spring, I'm doing that tonight and will see if it feels better than stock. For me to go DD as a starting point would be far to expensive compared to my £250 investment into the hobby so far.
Thank you for this video. I have the logitech g923 setup. I made my own racing rig for PC. I have modded my logitech H shifter with G/K Mods. But this was exactly what I was looking for! I just bought the shifter V2 kit from the company and the handbrake off amazon. I play on PC so the hand brake won't be an issue. I'm still holding out for the truebrake pedal mod. I gotta space out my purchases cause of the wife! lololol. But I did invert my pedals a long time ago and upgraded the standard springs. I have them mounted at an angle to a piece of a shelf lol. Hey it works! I have also made my own custom button boxes. DIY modding is the way to go! If you wouldn't mind I would love to send you a pic of my racing setup. Yeah you always see the pros using all these fancy rigs costing who knows what. But being a working person with a fulltime job, family, etc, I love doing my custom stuff that works for me and my budget. Don't care how it looks, or that I'm using an office chair instead of a racing chair. I'm proud of it! Do what works for you! Plus I subscribed. Thanks bud.
As someone who literally had all those logitech upgrades minus the different steering wheels... the gap between that and actual hobby grade/ pro grade kit will make the improvements here in the video feel like small stepping stones.. truly... I know have 2 rigs my 20k dollar full motion rig with haptics and all the works... and my wife's 5k rig. Personal opinion.. after the next leap of quality.. it really won't be any need to upgrade beyond that for the hobby sim racer... lastly.. the trigger word... immersion.. if you move your screen up closer to pretty much the back of your wheelbase and center it to your eyes... it will really help push the all mighty immersion at no additional cost . Best of luck and looking forward to a future video of you trying out new kit. Good job.
have fun with that shifter shearing off and leaving the screw in the logitech shifter arm completely destroying your shifter
Tbh it's dirt cheap shifter
I mean, that doesn't sound very fun at all...
I enjoyed this having the same setup.
I've been run the jewels on Xbox since 2018. At least you got good taste in hip hop
Cheers from another sim racing mountain biker!!
This was a high quality, informative video. Little long 😉
Haha thanks. And this is the cut down version! 😬😂
I enjoyed that. Now I want to upgrade my pedals and get a hand brake 😎
Informative and very entertaining at the same time. Thanks for sharing . I'm thinking... I also have a G29...( I will get so much trouble from my wife...this would be such a cool project!... what should I do? 🙂) Best regards.
thats the content i was waiting
spot on,low end gear is bad when you see how much better proper gear is
im waiting for simagic ,hope it comes soon
"samir! What are you doing samir, youre braking the car"
jkjk just found your channel. Great content!
As someone who switch to a Moza R12 3 days ago using g27 pedals and shifter atm. The pedal mod is worth it but for shifter, for a little bit higher price getting a SHH SHIFTER THORN seems to be a better option unless you are limited to console.
You got the same wheel stand I had! I just sold mine, that thing was ol’ reliable, for a hunk of metal, it is actually really good. Hope you get as much fun and reliability with it as I did. 😄😁
Im having goosebump at : 31:15
I use truebrake mod on my g29 great video
A helpful tip for the handbrake, there's an adjuster bolt on the back of it that you can use to basically have the sensor not come on.
Great video man really enjoyed it. One thing i feel you want to start doing is get some thicker socks and drive with those and lose the shoes that gives you so much more feeling with using your paddles. Its going to be so much smoother and you are going to be so much more confident. I really like the setup tho.
Hi Ryan!! I've missed you on the MTB side of YT, so happy to find you here! We have 3 hobbies in common now mate. I am going to sub to the other channel as well. Best of luck mate
Thanks! Ya if only I could focus on one thing at a time 😂
@@runthejoules You know, up I saw your name in the post-race results I was going 'Gods, this guy is so familiar it hurts. But this is a different channel..'
Glad to see you here in another fun, money eating but worth it hobby! Good luck on the adventure!
Llaghaghhhrumpyquim (swears in Welsh) 😂
Now I just gotta find myself a g29 on marketplace, these upgrades are sick
Imagine my shock stumbling into this video after having watched tons of Loam Ranger videos.
I can’t wait to see how you like the Simagic stuff. I recently jumped from old Logitech stuff to Moza, and the difference is incredible. You’ll want (and really should have) an aluminum profile rig for your new stuff. Getting rid of flex will help with your consistency, and be more like driving a real race car.
Haha surprise! Welcome to one of my 47 CZcams channels... And I definitely agree about the profile rig. It's on its way!
@@runthejoules your choice of channel name for this is brilliant, by the way!
Hey here's some cool Logitech upgrades. Next time...
*Whips out $1,000+ SimMagic Alpha package*
We go harder. 😂
I need to know what that AKG mic you're using on your rig setup is! Sounds fantastic, and really perfect for your voice.
Thanks! That's just an old C1000S.
For the speed and performance on track with logitech wheelbase you need to make it light as possible because ffb motor in that unit is so weak. Every weight you ad in it makes ffb slower and sluggish and it won't make favor in that regard. Other mods looks really good. 👍
I’ve heard from an f1 interview that a good brake pedal should be focused stiff with muscle memory rather than a soft and floaty brake pedal. I guess the stiffer one will better your lap time too since there’s less travel
From factory default to custom
Noice
👍
a tip for you, go into ur display settings in gt7 and turn on wobble type 2 cockpit view for a better feel of the car
I’ll try that! Thanks
Idk if its in the budget when you get a computer but give a vr headset a try with the racing game of your choice. You would be surprised how much of a difference depth perception can make when trying to hit an apex. Vr is a great training tool.
To all the peeps saying buy this buy that obviously didn't watch the video to the end where it shows him upgrading to a Simagic set up, save ya comments peeps.. good vid man..
That Truebrake from AXC was good for like 2sec/ lap on average for me
I believe it!
If I may give a tip : you should change your position/chair or raise your wheel, your arms and hands are too low which keeps your elbows too close to your chest, making it generally harder to steer precisely.
pretty sick but fir the combined price of the g29 and all the upgrades, you can buy an entry dd wheel-
I would be interested to see what gaming pc you went for
Big expenditure of money and energy... I'm sure the gloves would have been enough ! 😅🤪
what's the box cutter that you use?
Moza R5 will be a sweet setup for most people and all comes together 😂
the production quality is actually amazing. pretty surprised you only have that much subs
Thanks! For sub count, if you saw how many videos I put out per year, it would all make sense. 😬😂
I just got the x4 as well and am setting up my simulator lol I'm going to use it for grand theft auto though
Pretty awesome video. I highly also suggest putting what they call a butt kicker under your chair. You’ll feel all the rumbling of the ground and your engine. Highly highly recommend it
laguna is my favrotie tracl on ride 4 very difficult but once you learn the lines its easy
Just incase you didnt know the cones on the track your supposed to meet each cone to get the best grip and fastest turn
Site you linked is only showing me sequential, i want H pattern upgrade but didnt catch that in the video.. any info on what you did to upgrade but keep it H pattern??
It’s on the same site! If you go to the general upgrades page you’ll see it listed for around $10
i use a loadcell brakes on my g27 and change the stock spring into a mould spring. upgrading the brakes is the best upgrade of everything i mod and created in my 10yrs old wheel lol.
Logitech Vs Simagic. it's like comparing stage 1 to Final Boss.
bro turned the g29 into MOZA🤯
If you get a decent GPU in your new PC with new rig, definitely at least try VR, the immersion is insane.
Hail to the PNW, Dirt Fish and some beautiful Loam
At first I'm like eww you're at home and you have shoes on?
And realized oh ya mainland.
Nice driving for the rally.
Knowing me I'll be crashing out mainly from the jumps for some reason i cant do jumps.
I'll stick to my drifting.😊
Here in Canada, it's a pretty big no no to wear shoes indoors as well. The ones I'm wearing are just for indoor use though, so they're nice and clean!
nice video definitely want the inverted pedals what game is that
The game is dirt rally2.0
@@theonewheelbandit. thanks
The true endgame is upgrading the motors
Hey man just wanted to say that in real life GT3 cars always use TC and ABS and are never driven without it, otherwise I really enjoyed this video as I was this close to buying the Acelith rim but decided against it and went for a entry lvl DD wheel from Fanatec.
That’s exactly why I went for a GT3 car! I wanted the utilize the most difficult setup I could think of in order to properly expose the differences between the stock setup and the modded setup.
just go direct drive wheelbase, doesn't matter which brand, it will be night and day
I feel like you could've bought the logitech pro wheels + the adapter need to use it with your wheel for the same cost. The pro wheel base is 11/10 tbh
I've heard good things! If I wasn't producing this video, I likely only would have installed one or two of these mods at a time. This vid is to show people what's possible with their current setup and what might be worth spending a couple of extra dollars on.
Not even close when you can get the g29 for 100 dollars. 100 for acelith wheel, 10 for magnetic padels, 200 for pedal upgrades and then 100 for the shifter do it comes out to 510 dollars compared to 1150 just for the g pro wheel and another 60 for the shifter so around 1210.
@@willekewk if you would've actually read my comment I was talking about using the cash for pedal upgrade to buy pro pedals that are $350 not the wheel tha is $1000
Do FFB motor upgrade
How much for the total build
Like putting SRAM Eagle AXS on a $199 bike from Wal-Mart. I guess the point of this video is to show how individually, a couple of these upgrades are worth it, but if a person was to get a G29 with the intention on doing all these upgrades, that person must really hate getting what they pay for.
Yup you nailed it. It’s not about someone doing ALL these mods, it’s about adding one or two upgrades that can yield a much better experience for the setup they already have. 👍
As somone who used logitech G25 for prolonged time i can say one thing - don't do what this guy is doing.
There is only one problem with logitech - its the fact its rack and pinion system, Anything that is Belt driven is HUGE upgrade
While i had fun time on logitech i cannot recommend it for any one, better get T300
I race on Assetto Corsa with a G920, I don't have any issues with the brakes, their stock never upgraded the spring or anything. Love the real hard feel it gives like an actual race car or F1 car, which is what most people don't realize how hard the brakes are on a Race car. I race on both Assetto and F1. People just need to learn how to drive and how much brake pressure to give, if you think it's difficult driving on GT7, try F1 23 with a sim and no traction no abs no assists racing at 100level AI. Trust me you will humble yourself😂😂
Best upgrade you could do is a basic cockpit, I have a playseat evolution, it made a massive difference to my lap times
Can't argue with you there. The crappy office chair on wheels definitely isn't cutting it anymore, especially with a stiffer brake pedal!
@@runthejoules whats a good cheap cockpit
@@Renzo2007gt lite pro has a great seat and seating position for the price if you're a budget racer. If you wanna spent more then js commit to trackracer those cockpits are amazing and not too expensive
Even tho i love building, and doing dyi stuff. For the price of all this. I think id go with Dd2 pro for ps5. This is a great vid tho, super cool. I subbed to the other channel too. Love following good new channels! Great job mate.
yo so idk bout gran turismo but normaly gt3 cars have abs and tc eaven irl so maby thats why its so hard to drive w out em idk
That's exactly why I did it. It's a proper test of the system when any wrong move causes a brake lockup or spinout!
where can we watch more of your journey to rally??
@ryansroadtorally 👍🤘
If you spend all that money upgrading you may as well get a Fantech wheel.
with the money spent on the upgrades, why not just opt for a better wheel and pedal set package?
You need a fanatec wheel
On things pro players say... "Good gear won't make you fast, but bad gear will make you slow". I have a G25 and I might want to look into similar upgrades, the stock rim is nice and all for single seaters but it is comically toy-like 😅
R5 cars are almost the only cars drivable in that game.
Get yourself a T300 GT RS, A lot more room to get faster, The Logitech is a great wheel. But when you use the T300 you can improve a lot faster, Also get Quest VR headset,. Dirt Rally is still one of the best VR Sim's there is, It is actually mind blowing how bad ass Dirt Rally is in VR, I used a Logitech for ages but couldn't get faster, Now after 3 days of the T300 I can see myself improving, So yeah if you can grab a T300, It is a lot more lets just say, And AMS 2 in VR is also crazy IMMERSIVE, lol.....
Just get a DirectDrive
You will want to have ABS at least on light or default instead of off. GT7 is terrible with ABS off
I wholeheartedly agree 😂
I bet you could find a couple more seconds once you turn it to default lol. Currently it’s off in case you did not know
Yep that was on purpose and I stated it in the video. I didn't want any assists on whatsoever, so we could get a proper test from the brake pedal.
Bro, is that handbrake also works with ps5? I’m asking because i couldn’t find any handbrake works with ps5. They always works with ps4/ps4 pro.
The exact one I got does say it works with PS5, but I haven't personally tried it on anything other than my PS4 Pro. a.co/d/07lkkY3
In these cars you need to have tc and abs.
Definitely. That’s why I turned them off.
You didn't show the steering wheel upgrade process
Problem with the bigger wheel is you lose force feedback strength
Definitely. For rally I don’t feel like it’s as big of a deal though.
You need to try sim racing in vr.
I do!
If you want the handbrake to stop flickering just pull the handbrake 😊❤
Would the inversion pedals wogk with the g pro or the clutch mod? If you know it would be helpful
Abs and TC is in real GT3 cars ,use it!
That wouldn’t make for a very good test though!
You should but a LTT screwdriver.
I don't know if I would want to "but" a screwdriver...
to make it better, put tape on the logitech logo
😂
GT3 Cars do have ABS and TC.
Which is exactly why I chose the car/settings that I did. Gotta make it difficult and remove all assists if it’s gonna be a proper test, IMO.
When you spend that much in upgrades is like a NO
unless you have one Logitech G29 around there since years ago spending +$300 in mods +349 in a Logitech G923
Fanatec Ready to Race is a better option even if you found sales you can improve your pedals to load cells for cheaper.
why not just a fanatec or moza
for 100€ get the Moza HBP Handbrake it's amazing!!
But can't use it on a console.
@@GG-si7fwyou can with a drive hub
I'm thinking wearing socks isn't going to track
By that point you could have gone with a moza R5 and would have much better experience..
Not on a PS4.😂
you should put a real rally wheel on also i don't recommend getting upgrades for the Logitech setup it is cheaper but it doesn't change the actual Logitech wheel base it would be better upgrading the wheel to Mozza R9 also can get a Fanatec shifter that lets you swich between sequential and H pattern you don't even need to reboot or nothing to switch and it is fully metal also all the Logitech stuff is plastic which is not good
that's the problem with having a playstation
@@willekewk I know but i mean when he gets his pc
