Can I have Mayâs journey first, please? đđâ€ïž
OH Stephanie, I was 30 and after several meals I found out that chicken dish I loved when I was invited to Normandy for a few weeks was in fact= RABBIT, damn it was Bugs Bunny, I was horrified as an American.....
So, excited for this. I hope it stays in the family for many more generations.
oh Link forJunes journey is on facebook...and I dont do facebook........
I love rabbit! Although rabbits in Australia are feral and a huge pest! đ°đ°đ€Ł
Just want to thank you so much for the âescapeâ therapy that your channel provides! Iâve watched you through battling stage 3 breast cancer and am currently cancer free!! My mama in law who lives with us was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and sent home for hospice. We found out last week. We are trying to figure out how to help her and make her comfortable. Meanwhile yesterday my Husband just found out he has skin cancer on his stomach. We are in our 40âs and have 5 beautiful young children ages 9-18 so Iâm trying to be strong and keep it all together. I eagerly await each of your videos so that just for a moment my life wonât feel impossible. Thank you so much!
I am so sorry for everything you are going through , Iâm so happy for all the things you have overcome.

I hope now that your aunt and uncle are living in the south of France you can make new happy memories there. I love your flat. Just the essentials with a beautiful view! My idea of perfection.
It was so sweet of your dad to purchase this flat to be close to your grandmother. The view is beautiful! I think it is perfect!
I agree.
ME too too also!! đđâ€ïž
Fantastic investment..what a view!
It's like living in a painting the way you two can make a room.
I'm a 28 year Danish girl who loves to watch your videos in bed with my breakfast every morning before getting ready to go to work. You always radiate positivity and happiness and it's so comforting to see.Thank you for all the effort you put into making these videos! You are all such good people đ
I think we did see a glimpse of the flat at least once, when Marie took a trip there? But you've done so many vlogs it's easy to forget!
I think you're right, we saw a glimpse with Marie, and again with Annalise with the boys.
Yes I remember too
I remembered that vlog too as soon as Stephanie opened the door to show how small it is.
@@amyschneidhorst1384 Yes, I thought I had seen it already, it's just perfect!
Oh my word, I love the "stuffed chicken " storyđ
Your father made a very good choice. What a wonderful view and the sun deck just makes it
When you get the small terrace table the bistro cloth will work great!
I love Phillipâs reply in disbelief. âHave you met me!?â Lol
Make a funny little wooden man shed in the forest at LaLande for Phillip to fill, with his bad taxidermy!
Such a good idea !
I donât get the love of taxidermy in France. Having a dead stuffed animal in my house is beyond me.
Philips little shop of horrors! It's so bad, it's good đ.
â@@sarahmiller5632 it's a tradition...we had a stuffed gazelle, big with huge horn ! Mostly birds and hunting trophies.
Lots of sweet memories. So glad you have found your happiness there again.
Lovely little flat with a million dollar view! Philipâs sense of occasion is remarkable! Thank you for the tour Stephanie! đâ€ïž
Its not a salt holder it is planter
which goes on the wall. That could be put outside.
I love hearing your Grandma stories so much when you were a little girl. I lol'd.
Your father made a very good choice. What a wonderful view and the sun deck just makes it.
That little apartment was a great investment! So cute too! đ
We came here with Marie, I believe it was last summer maybe the summer before last. Because she might have been in Norway last summer. She filmed & had a great getaway! â€â€â€
Philip! Please tell me youâre going to give that poor squirrel a proper burial! He looks like heâs been through enough at this point and I believe heâs earned it! You guys enjoy the south of France! Love you both
Edd gave Philip a tree of taxidermy once. Owls and squirrels. Natti was freaked out by it. I think some of them are in Philip's study. I think that is the gift that is going back to Edd and Anna's.
Another house in the family how nice, you can travel the world with houses and flats everywhere †love the view
Most fortunate
@@MsLinz1975 Very fortunate
Living the dreamâ€
Very touching to see you reminiscing Stephanie. A lot of people can relate and it's a beautiful thing to share. Merci x
Marie was here a few years ago...and maybe Dan too?
The first table cloth matched the buildings outside perfectly!
Your Mother & Grandmother could be sisters... they look so alike. â€ïžđ
They are so alike itâs remarkable.
I agree! And she was so tiny!
I love hearing the memories of your Grandmother- your Mother's Mother I'm guessing (sorry if I missed that). She looked like a sweet but small only in stature, mighty Woman! My maternal Grandmother was quite the character, and I also, have many fond memories. May we all keep the things that remind us of where we came from and who we are close to our hearts.
I love that the two of you have a little place of your own and that you share it with friends and family!
My daughter started eating sushi when she was 3 years old and she liked to order for herself. Pink chicken with black pepper (salmon maki) and block soup (miso) đ sheâs always been an adventurous eater. â€ïžđšđŠ
Henceforth miso soup shall be known as block soup.
I think Lancelot thought that there must be something terribly wrong with that chicken. đ€Ł I love the salt and pepper grinders. I'm so happy you're able to go back. I'm sure you Dad and Grandmother are very happy you're there. I can't wait to see what you do with the terrace.
My daughter announced she would only eat chicken. Arms crossed and serious.
Next evening I cooked beef and was serving when she asked her father ( born and raised in Marseille) is this chicken? Yes your mother did a great job cooking a Prairie chicken. She ate. Following along. I cooked Fish. Same question. Yes a beautiful Chicken of the Sea. Between us we got creative till she just got over it. đ
What a great place for you and Phillip to escape to for some down time! Glad you made the journey back and it was joyful for you! Beautiful place, thank you for taking us along!
Who needs space when you have that view and so close to the marina!!
A little renovation it will turn the flat into a lovely charming place. The bathroom, the floors, etc
If they rent it out, you have to be careful of putting in too many renovations and pricing yourself out of your intended market. â€
Itâs adorable as it is. Itâs an escape.
The little flat is darling! I think we got a quick sneaky peek at it when Marie W. went to stay there before she went to chef school? I love the little things you bought for the flat as well. I think you should have a simple white table cloth to go under the smaller ones. All the colors were really pretty. You two are so much fun to watch. Especially when you're shopping. See you lovelies tomorrow.đ
Looking very forward to thos vlog. Many Congratulations to Sara and Steve on their big announcement that they are getting married. They are a beautiful couple and wish them all the very best for the future. â€â€
Lol I didn't realized that they weren't married? God bless them bothđ
They are through common law in Canada, although not recognized in France.
Learn something new every day-thought they were already married.
Congratulations Sara and Steven.
Who is Sarah and Steve?
â@mikewatson5281 friends of Stephanie and Philip and fellow chatelaines. Owners of a chateau named St. Germaine du PrĂ©s. Steve digitally enlarged Stephanie's dad's painting that was made into wallpaper for the downstairs loo. Check out their vlog Manor and Maker
I passed off eggplant parmesan as chicken parmesan to my children until one day the eldest looked at me and said, "Chickens don't have seeds, Mom." Oops! Busted.
That is funny!
Thatâs hilarious!
đ
What a funny coincidence: When I saw the studio, I thought "Oh, that's looking very much like the studio where we stayed in Cap d'Agde when I was a child". So I was very surprised, when you said it is in Cap d'Agde. :) But it's not the same studio, we had another view. I was very impressed by this part of France, when I was there the first time in 1983, I thought, when I'm grown up, I want to live in or around Montpellier... Well, that's not happened until now, but everything is still possible. :)
I'm surprised you didn't move the table out onto the terrace. I would have. Such a lovely view.
Me too â€đ
Itâs a lovely place, adorable little apartment. I love how you made the tablescape so special, and updated the drinkware.
Youâre both so precious. đđđđđ
You guys always make me happy!!!
You two are so adorable!! Love you both!!!†now I know what your flat is!! Lots of love from Tennessee!!
What a lovely contrast to La Lande. So bright and sunny. I love it.
How lovely a little love nest in the South of France. You so need a couple of loungers out on the balcony.
Looking forward to seeing your Aunt's new house at some point. Thank you for sharing your travels.
Lancelot has the cutest expressive little face, he always looks slightly surprised when he sees something new.â€â€
So great to see you soooo happy, many blessings and I am so pleased that you are getting married.
This is what I've wanted for 4 years: more back story! And how did 2 French women come to marry 2 English men?
Isabelle was a nurse who became a head nurse in a hospital. Her husband was a self-taught artist. Running nursing homes in renovated houses let Stephanie's father paint. Isabelle's younger sister moved in with them. So, the two families were together for years. Stephanie says Amaury is really like a younger brother. â€
Stephanie's father was also a nurse/administrator
so happy that you can enjoy such a lovely place again !!!
You have a loaf of French bread, a bottle of wine and an epic view⊠what more is there in life? Except maybe a stuffed squirrel đżïžđŹ
I can't wait to find out what they have planned for that stuffed squirrel! lol
Whatever it is, you know itâs gonna be awesome đ
Such a romantic getaway in the south of France, and cozy.
What a lovely couple you are. You bring 30mins if glorious escape to me. A world of elegancy, wonderful food, amazing places of interest & such a sense of family, caring & shared memories. I look forward to your every post.
The view is like a painting! â€
Phillip always makes everything so fun and pretty! Those cupboards with the new items look so beautiful! â€ïž Stephanie, so glad you overcame the fear of going back to your childhood home/memories! You are so fortunate to have such beautiful memories with your father, grandmother and extended family. I love that you can go back to their homes and feel their presence. â€
I remember when Marie stayed a few days there and filmed it
I think I could be perfectly happy living in that flat full time! What a beautiful place!
What a incredible childhood you had I was in my thirty's the one and only time I saw the ocean sky was grey the water was grey the sand was grey
I love the stuffed chicken story đ My mum used to cook rabbit for dinner for my nana&told her it was chicken. She never clicked that a chicken only has 2legs đđ
I went to a Quaker camp at a hard-working farm. We care lovingly for the rabbits and their offspring, and on Sundays ate rabbit stew. The horses were lucky to be rented out to tourists in the off-season. †I love all animals, but unless you go full vegetarian or vegan, you have to pick and choose like no veal or horse. â€
That view of the marina is amazing!
To get us to eat fish and seafood, our parents put it in hush puppies cornbread and told us it was chicken. All kinds of seafood were our fast favorites. †Beautiful view from the apartment.
Mine and the boys favourite place â€
the sunflower was a wall planter fyi. thanks so much for the lovely tour of your childhood town. your grandma was a beautiful human.
Oh I was hoping to see your Aunt and Uncles new home. I love the flat, it's a perfect place to get away, bright and cheerful. I'd probably be out on the terrace most the time. Thanks for sharing with us.
Stephanie said her aunt and uncle haven't moved in yet.
Iâm going to show a glimpse of their house in tomorrows video!
How beautiful and what special memories you have of your dear grandmother. What beautiful memories you are making now with your new family â€ïžđŠđ„°đ„
that Terrace looks to be the same size as the rest of the flat! lovely place to be.
The sunflower holder is actually a wall pocket. It is meant to be used as a wall vase. :)
What a dream! Amazing scenes!
Didn't we see Marie at this flat? It's always such a pleasure to watch your vlog, now almost part of my daily evening routine.
Yes Marie and quite a few others.
I love the effort you are making to put into bringing your seaside flat into line with your aesthetic as a couple. Loved seeing Lancelot as the brave guard hound protecting you from the intruder seagull.
Love your engagement glasses!
I understand that reluctance to re-visit a place where the memories of departed loved ones are so tied up with the place. This trip to Cap d'Agde seemed really cathartic for Stephanie and all the memories were nostalgic and good ones. I'm sure she'll not be a stranger to the south of France in the future. That flat needs some of that flair that Stephanie and Philip can bring to it!
đŸđŸLancelot is learning how to bark!!! He needs a perch/ climbing tower like cats have to to be able to see the view out of the windows that are up high. I feel sorry for him having to look up so high in the flat only to see furniture & people's legs
your parents did a wonderful thing buying that flat to be near your Grandmother..and its perfect. I laughed so much at Lancelot seeing off the seagull. HOW DARE THAT GULL LAND ON HIS TERRACE WALL. lol.. reminded me of my late dog with wood pigeons. lol.
Yes Philip take a White Tablecloth, Stephanie always agrees with your choices once you have them in place! what a treasure of a flat your father left you. Fond memories and future dreams await your visits! Love It!
I loved when Stephanie suggested using the new Jug. In the background Philip replying "YESSSS!"
Wonderful! Love the memories!
My mom told me every type of meat/seafood was chicken⊠I was traumatized to learn that shrimpâŠ. Was not chicken (I was about 8 years old when I learned that). And just now, at the dinner table, I told my 19 month old daughter that the tilapia she was eating⊠was chicken. And the pattern continues đ, but hey, I understand now why my mom did that.
Phillip, so good with the reason.
Congratulations to Sara and Steve on their upcoming nuptials and good afternoon from Arizona nice 100 degree day for us here
In Flagstaff,67 & partly cloudy.
The plates match the buildings outsideâŁïžđđ»đđ»
Can Anna, Phillipe, and the girls sail into that bay? Marie showed the beach, so I hope you show the beach and ocean also.â€
I would love to decorate that flat in a beach-style with white floors, bamboe chairs, light blue cabinets, white linnen curtains, strawhats on the wall, white linnen couch en make a beautiful terrace outside. All whites and naturals. Dreaming on.. đ Thank you for the escape!
Your flat is adorable.
I had many of those plates in the 80s as it was quite fashionable then.
Enjoy your holiday and food.
Oh you lucky girl. You are living the dream â€..Thank you for sharing đ x
How come I donât see Naty anymore? It would be nice for you to feature her and the things she does for the chateau.
And Grant (?) from Australia too!
Thanks
Nattie is in the vlogs all the time and Grant has been in the ones even in the last few helping with all of the books upstairs! Maybe you've missed a bunch of videos because they are both very present in the vlogs!
Grant isn't in the south of France right now. đ He was in every vlog leading up to their drive down south. Natti is very busy managing the B&B season but is seen at lunch often in the vlogs. Amaury and Natti go home before dinner, which is why you don't see them as much.
A seersucker tablecloth is messaging relaxed and picnic and seaside for me.
Imagine it for a summer meal on the terrace.
Stephanie im so pleased you got over your fear and now can go back and enjoy the flat with philip , thank you for showing us đ
thrilled to see you caste off Miss Havisham! So happy!
loved the upgrade of the flat's kitchen/dining area - thank you for sharing this truly sweet episode
Such a sweeet little flat. Glad you were able to push through and make new memories. Sometimes making that first step is the hardest.
It might make sense to keep an eye on Lancelot if he is on the terrace by himself. He is a small dog and there may be birds of prey around.
Omg Iâve been to Set and Agde and loved it! I drove over from Carcassonne when I was living there 14 years ago!
My husbandâs grandmother also made the most delicious encornets farcis⊠we were in Sete and Bouzigues recently on market day and went to Les Halles to pick up a few things just like the meal on your table. All my favorites !
You could roll the "island" out on the terrace, along with the kitchen chairs!
I think the squirrel is a gift for Dan đ
What a lovely apt it's charming and the view and the terrace is wonderful. What a gem!!! The tables settings are stellar!!! You both are so adorable together I live your shopping sprees. Enjoy enjoy enjoy.
Making new memories in the flat with Philip seems like a perfect return. You two are so cute when you discuss and spare about table service and decor! 4:27
That is the sweetest bark Iâve ever heard
As a new grandparent, I just love these vlogs of your remembrances of your grandmother. It's a special kind of love.
Wow I feel like Iâve been on vacation. đ„łđ
Thank you for sharing your childhood, Stephanie xx
What a dinky, cute flat with the incredible view â€
You must admit that Philip has good taste in class ware đ
Wonderful, thanks for taking me to the south of France, itâs been years since I was thereâŠhappy visit and greetings from đšđŠ
The food in France is so insanely amazing.
