- Getting ready for the first retreat of the year has been a ton of work, but the chateau is looking smashing and I can't wait to share it with you! This week, enjoy a full tour of the chateau and let me show off all the hard work that has gone into it! I think I might sleep for a week after the retreat is over!

I absolutely love the mural on the left in your office with the rolling hills! I think it would really define the space instead of another wallpaper. The colours are stunning and the landscape is utterly gorgeous!

I really like the wallpaper on the left. With the hills. Because it has soft blues and greens I think it transitions from the living room well, and it’s a softer entry into the lighter kitchen.
The blue wallpaper with blue painted walls it’s super dark for such a soft kitchen.
Abby, the chateau looks gorgeous! The guest rooms are charming (love the names) and the baths functional and pretty. The garden and fountain look lovely! Bruce is the champion of the kitchen. Hope this retreat is all you and your guests hoped for. ❤

Thank you for taking us on a tour, I've been dying to see it all set up. It's absolutely beautiful. You should do a CZcams tour once a year so we can see all the large and small changes you make. Your guests are going to love it.

The whole chateau looks fabulous. A little fancy but also light, airy and comfortable. For the office maybe the landscape wallpaper, then the fountain painting, TV on the mantel with couch toward it and a chair? Maybe 2 chairs for chatting looking out the window if there is room.
Your chateau is beautiful,chic and elegant.
What you will choose for wallpaper in your office will look perfect.
My humble opinion would be to select the large printed wall paper with the landscape. You keep the blue theme but it will draw in and echo your lovely garden and harmonize with the outdoor sounds of your fountain and birdsong.
After watching your grand tour you can see the same echo of outdoor color and garden light through the porthole windows. Maybe resale the blue sofa and put the teal sofa and chairs back in your office.
Just my thoughts and most assuredly not personal criticism of your home.

WOW, I can't believe the transformation in the short time you've owned the chateau. You've all worked so hard and everything looks amazing. You've been very blessed with Bruce and all the people who helped get you there. I can't wait to visit for one of your retreats!!

Bonjour Abby, I still like the one on the left for your Office. I agree the one on the right is lost at that size. The furniture in the Grand Room is absolutely perfect (smart move to get rid of the red furniture) and well balanced with the colors. As usual wonderful work Bruce. I hope your retreat is full of fun, laughter, and fond memories for all whom are there.

I like the new wallpaper for a different location. The large mural seems better and would make more of a statement. But i just heard you say the motif will be larger, so that should help.In the grand salon, I'd consider pulling the furniture a bit back more from the rug, especially the chairs and the green couch.
It just seems claustrophobic snuggled in so tightly in such a grand space. 😊 I think Karen's painting would look good in the office. You passed by the sitting room area on the bedroom floor. What are you calling it? You've done a good job furnishing the bedrooms. And the garden looks wonderful. It's serene where one wants to take a deep breath, sigh, and just relax and listen to nature. What on Earth are you going to do to fill your time now that the renovations are almost done? 😂

Everything is really beautiful..straighten the lamp shades in dining room..and get candelabras for buffet..guest rooms are very pretty,and windows to die for,and love your room,the paint is perfect..a beautiful chateau you're bringing back to life! Pat yourself on the back for all you've accomplished,and your vision of what is to come! Your guest will be very pleased..how could they not be...
Bruce has done an amazing job with the title work! It really compliments the beauty of the repurposed wood around the air vent! ❤ the kitchen is absolutely beautiful!

The pretty purple plant is called Campanula. There are lots of different varieties but it especially loves to grow in walls and rockeries, and doesn’t cause damage. It will repeat flower in warmer weather ❤

Abby, I have been following you from the beginning of your Chateau purchase and adventure. You have done an amazing job on restoring the charm to the entire retreat/chateau. I just love it. Elegant for sure and your guests are going to love it. Wishing you a successful and fun filled retreat. I would like to make a quick suggestion as a small garden, landscaping business. @thepottedmum here in Guelph Ontario Canada, add some low maintenance greenery to your guest rooms. Pothos, is an easy low maintenance plant low watering required. But as you did the tour I spotted areas where some greenery would be beautiful and also add oxygen to the rooms. The rooms / bathrooms with windows at floor level and circular quaint windows would benefit from a smaller planter of pothos. I think it would also be great if your gardeners could actually edge out around your gardens so they are more defined. I love waiting for your weekly release. Enjoy the retreat. 👍🏻😎
Hi Abby, I"ve been watching your videos weekly since the first one. The transformation of your chateau is amazing. I'm one of your many cheerleaders on your journey to get things done just the way you want them. I thoroughly enjoyed the grand tour and could feel the care and attention to detail in each room. The colors and textures and warmth is so inviting. A special mention... hats off to Tomas and Bruce for their hard work and dedication. Your accomplishments remind me of the saying, "She thought she could... and so she did."

Well done! All that hard work is paying off. Bruce is great. One thing I'd say is the scale of the carpets and art needs to be much bigger. Nonetheless it looks fabulous. I'd love to visit x
Everything is so pretty and inviting! 🥰 I can see all the hard work that has been done. When I remember what it was like when you first moved in. 😱 I absolutely love the kitchen. The chef will be very happy working in that space! I was hoping you would choose the other paper for your office. It would have been so pretty, but maybe I just can’t see it because the other sample didn’t show it off as well. I’m sure it will be beautiful just as everything else has been. I totally agree and am glad you got rid of the red furniture in the grande salon. It was just too harsh amongst the other suites of furniture. Good luck with your retreat. ❤️😊

So much done, and looking awesome. Maybe one day, when you're not busy (LOL) you could put use your painting skills to do a wee bit of a trompe l'oeil on the plaster fill-in part of that stone arch in the kitchen. The copper pots are just... (chef's kiss).

I remember watching a previous tour of the bedrooms & thinking that there weren’t enough places for guests to store their clothes and belongings, but you’ve addressed that need & everything looks great.
There's still room for improvement on that front, but it's getting better for sure.
Given the relatively short time you've had to restore and decorate your chateau, out buildings and grounds you have achieved much. Just lovely. Happy for you and your guests.

First let me say how trim Bruce is looking - way to go, Bruce! And the kitchen is looking fabulous.The amount of work you've done everywhere is tremendous, and has definitely paid off. You have great taste in furnishings. The gardens are looking absolutely wonderful. Well, done Abby! I know it's not all finished, but now that the Chateau is quite livable, I hope you won't take it amiss if I make a suggestion. You might think about getting yourself either a good Feng Shui expert or an interior designer, or both, to help with furniture layout in most of the rooms. It would be well worth the cost. Sometimes, all that's needed is a bigger rug to suit the proportion of the room, and I realize that may not be in the cards financially right now. But often it's just that the room looks like it would feel awkward to walk through or be in. Maybe this is only how it appears on camera, but some of the spaces feel uncomfortable. At this stage of the game, though, despite my suggestion, you should give yourself a well deserved pat on the back for all the good work you've done! And thank you for showing it to us!
I watched your very first video and I thought, wow, that's a massive amount of work that needs to be done but this transformation in such a short period of time is nothing short of amazing! It is beautiful. Congratulations!

I have watched you since day one and I thought it would take you years to get it up and ready for guests… but, I didn’t realize what a Wonder Woman you are, and thanks to your friends who came to help you and Bruce is such a blessing and wonderful craftsman.

Wow, you did an amazing job cleaning, painting, wallpapering, furnishing, renovating the chateau. All of those rooms and bathrooms and you made each one have its own character and charm. The outside is looking amazing too. Love the fountain and love everything weeded and trimmed. In such a short amount of time owning the chateau you have done a Herculean job. Congratulations! I can't believe you have achieved all this in, what 18 months? Just fantastic. It's charming and beautiful. All the rooms are so inviting and I would love staying in any one of them. Love those 3rd floor hallway runners and the big print wallpaper with lemons! The kitchen is beautiful and the gardens are coming right along. When I think back to how everything was at the beginning.......even your videos are so professional. You are an amazing person. Congratulations on making your vision a reality!

Everything looks great. You might want to rethink the relationship of furniture and rugs. Not all the furniture needs to be touching the carpet-just makes things looked really crowded. Good luck with your seminar. Go, Bruce, go!

Thank you! That was fun! You have transformed that place so beautifully, and surely all your guests will feel so welcomed and cared for! Hospitality is a gift, and it takes thought and a lot of consideration and effort on the part of the hostess, but the blessings do go both ways! I hope you have a lovely time with all who come!
I have a little idea for the living room... if you moved the yellow pillows from the yellow couch, and put them over on the blue couch and chairs, and then put some light blue pillows on the yellow couch, it seems that would balance and nicely blend the room, rather than all blue on one side and all yellow on the other. Perhaps you've already tried that, but I'd love to see it! Maybe you wouldn't need the light blue pillows on the yellow side if you just move the yellow pillows to the blue half of the room!
