Pixel 7 Pro vs Pixel 6 Pro! I think this is the year where I'm happy with the Pixel on launch. What do you guys think?
I have a 5A and a 6A (I fell behind on my annual Pixel renewals, so I got both and am sharing the same line with them), and they've worked very well for me, 60hz and 128GB withstanding.
No more Samsung for me, issues with the S20, S21 and S22 Ultra, Pixel 7 Pro here I cum!
Hey, did they resolve those signal issues from pixel 6?
Hey Matthew, face unlock can take you to the home screen. There is an option in the face unlock settings. You might have missed that. Thanks for the comparison. This is great!
Good tro know! thanks for the heads up
Bruh, preciate it lol, didn't realize there was a setting for it
that's huge! I was hoping for this!
Going from a pixel 4 to the 7 pro. So happy to hear all these positive reviews! Super excited to finally have a decent battery again.
How's your battery life been since using the 7 Pro?
I just did the same upgrade. Loving the 7 pro. Battery life is good again
@Royce Thanks!
Going from 4 to a 6 pro. Saved a lot of money, and glad I did after this. Thanks for the review!
I just bought the 6 pro as it's on sale now and 300 cheaper than the 7 pro (Australia) so far no issues at all, id say the camera overall is much better than the iPhone 13 Pro max, the images seem more clear and crisp. I've always switched between iPhone, Samsung and Huawei (when they had Google services) so first time owning a Google device, I might even say it's one of the best phones I've had, overall I'm really loving the 6 pro
This comment just made me get the 6 pro thanks man
@@oscargarza3181 awesome bro 👌 the pixel 6 pro is crazy good, seems underated to me
how's your experience with calls & reception overall ?
Same thing, love my 6 pro
Right now (Australia) 6 pro is going through clearance so difference is over $500 compared with 7 pro. I might still go with the 7, but yeah that's a big difference.
I was really debating if I should upgrade from the 6pro. I guess I'll wait for the 8
considering after android 13, its been great, i don't feel the need to upgrade for 3 years (normal generational improvement)
I really like how you approach the review, tx for it
Hey Matthew, any chance you could provide some samples between the 4x on the 6 Pro and 5x zoom on the 7 Pro? I'm also very curious about the 3x on both phones as Google claims to use the telephoto and main lens interpolated now, where as the 6 Pro was just the main lens.
Hey Mathew? Do you think they added that aluminum for rigidity around the camera? My 6 pro's lens cracked inside. Google probably knows this as an issue since other people have experienced this.
Any over heating. How’s signal strength compared to other phones? Thanks.
The review I was waiting for. Thank you Matthew 😀 Looks like the pixel series makes so much sense for the price.
My pleasure!
@@MatthewMoniz wow. Thank you for the reply 😀🙏
I use iPhone and i have to disagree on what you said of the Pixel 7 aside from
Portrait mode the colors on the image looked better and more natural especially the skin tones on the pixel same with video despite the small jitter. iPhone just blends the subject with the background
I was gonna say...
The iPhone makes the subject looks so dull
@@mohammedsalimahmed5230It's all personal taste........
I disagree with your portrait photo comparison. To me the iphone portraits looked very blurry and the background was washed out. The pixel photos were dead on. If you want washed out photos you can easily edit them for that effect if that's what you desire. I do agree with your video at motion comparison, although I thought overall not much difference there.
How is the overheating issues while using camera or using video. I used my pixel 5 in Puerto Rico and it shut off 5 mins of video filming on a 78 degree day.
Thinking trading it in but not if it's still overheating issues.
I have a P6P and its been a lovely experience, no major issues, just the autobrightness, always a little bit higher that it should be but no drama about that.
I've never had a pixel before. I'm really looking forward to have one but i find the P7P a little expensive for my budget. What do You think, should i get the P6P instead?
@@chingoneitor99 I have the pro and it has alot of good In it, it's a unique design has a smooth and overall good UI plus great camera and a beautiful screen. the problem its not the most durable phone, I had the screen break more then half a dozen times and once it fell on the back with a screen cover and two other times in my pocket. Im thinking of switching back to the lgv60 since it has a dual screen.
My p6p battery has been terrible.. It loses 10% EVERY HOUR
Yuh bro how's your battery ? I'm planning what can get p6p or p7p bruh help me out
The P7P is what the P6P should have been but the difference between the two is almost insignificant, just the macro cam, the results are almost the same. I make 7h of SoT, but it's not the more effecient Soc.
You can skip the lock screen with face ID I figured I would just let you know that Matthew because it's really fast to log in without the lock screen
Nice review 👍 personally i think the 6P looks better then all their phones they made thus far.
Couldn't agree more. The color options were better imo.
I have been using the pixel 3 for about 3 years now. I love this phone but with a free upgrade offer I was 90% sure I would upgrade to the 7 pro. Thank you for the thorough and honest review. I am going to go get my upgrade!
How did you get free upgrade?
@@zachefron3434 he could have it just with his carrier
Making it shorter and wider has been a blessing as it balances in the hand so much better than the 6 Pro.
Hey Matthew, any issues with 7 pro while wireless charging on in Tesla ? Wondering if camera bump lifts the phone enough to not work with Tesla wireless charger?
Hey man does the 7/pro come with z-axis vibration motor or x-axis vibration motor?
I contacted Google Support through Google One because there's a lot of users like me having darkening processing issues when taking pictures. When taking pictures, the processing adds a darkening layer onto the picture. This has caused me to edit the highlights and shadows in Google Photos to make it look presentable or at least Google Pixel's expected level. Google Support informed me to clear the cache of Google Photos as the first action item. I am not sure if that totally fixed the issue, but the difference after clearing the cache seems to be there. Let's see how this goes. I upgraded from the Google Pixel 4a to Google Pixel 7 Pro. I am trying to get used to this phablet.
I had to return my pixel 6 due to constant signal drop. Apparently the Samsung modem they used was awful so I'm still very sceptical. I'd love to buy the pixel 7 but I'm not sure. Has anyone had any issues with pixel 7 reception?
Is the "magsafe" really that stronger than magsafe? I didn't see anybody else cover this
I had to watch your video first Matt! Great video and I think this is the year of the Pixel. They finally put it all together.
Thanks Danni I appreciate it! I agree they did a good job this year.
@@MatthewMoniz you’re welcome! I love the photos with the Pixel. The video was a
Little bad if you’re moving a lot. Was it usable with static footage?
I have a pixel 6 pro now for a year or so, the issues i have is #1 its gets hot either when charging or in long camera usage, #2 screen brightness its just not bright enough you need to have it full brightness to see in bright light, #3 speakers to quiet they go from barly audible to high volume in the the last quarter of the slider, #4 recording video with the flash on will over heat it and the flash will auto turn off which is really annoying i mean after like 2 mins, otherwise i love the phone ill definatly upgrade to a 7 just for the refinements
I have heat issues with my pixel 6 Pro. I bought a dbrand skin to put over the phone instead of using a case but the heat is unbearable I ended up using a case. I wonder if there are any heat issues with pixel 7 pro?
I have a pixel 6 and am very interested in cameras. Is there an improvement in the cameras in the new pixel compared to the previous one?
I wanted to know too, but instead to compare pixel 6 to pixel 7 in this video, for some reason he compared pixel 7 to iphone 14
Hola, el sensor Sony del p6 pro es mejor, en video con las ultimas actualizaciones y quitando los 10 bits HDR es igual, pero el sensor Sony siempre estará un paso por delante en fotografías. quizá el procesado sea mejor en el 7 pro.
Great video. Went from a Pixel 6 Pro to a 7 Pro today. I LOVED my 6 Pro, and the 7 Pro is ever so slightly better in every way.
For anyone with a Pixel 6, wondering about upgrading, I'd wait for the Pixel 8 if you can.
I'm thinking of trading in my OnePlus 10 Pro for the pixel 6 pro, but i'm not sure about that, as i never used a Google phone before, any ideas ?
Hey, did they resolve those signal issues from pixel 6?
One major issue I had with the Pixel 6 (and went through three phones) was that when you have the screen set to very low brightness, grays weren't consistent. One phone the entire bottom half of screen was red. The second the right half of the screen was green and the third the left side green.
How's the Pixel 7?
How long do you spend on your phone.. get a life
@@aliengineeringinc LOL
I did this completely backwards. I normally do a bunch of research before getting a new phone but I was so fed up with my LG V60 I just bit the bullet and ordered the pixel 7 pro. I wasn't about to pay and arm and a leg for a Samsung and the lack of wireless charging on the new OnePlus was a deal breaker so I went this route. After going through a bunch of videos I think I made the right decision.
Would appreciate thoughts on the heating and thermals..Thanks
No issues with thermals
Any signal issues? Dropped connection? Antenna issues?
Great review!!
I've been using for the past 3.5 years the oneplus 7 pro and I still love it. It works great, screen is excellent and I love the popping camera because you get a full screen experience.
But I've always wanted to try the pixel devices and I waited patiently until they will come with something that will make me try them.
That moment has come and they even have the same name for it as my current device lol.
So I ordered it yesterday and I should receive it on Monday!
Hope I made the right choice
Same here.... Loving my OP7pro....
Planning to change to Pixel7Pro
Same😄
Same!
Loving my fold 3, once you fold you never go back ever, candybar is done
👍🏽 Thank you, Matthew! 🤠
Thanks for the review! Really curious about 7 non pro. Is it as good and no bugs as pro model?
Ya Im loving it as well! Im working on a review stay tuned.
How is the pixel 7 pro now 9 months later?
When you vlog, is it possible to upload a widescreen format without the side block bits around the image, or do you need an app? I'm trying to vlog and all my uploads have the tiny sliver of a screen image surrounded by blocks. I am trying to upload on my phone only without any apps or anything to add to it. Advice anyone? Thanks in advance!
Does the Pixel 7 has Astro Modus photographing?
This years google pixel 7 is a good and clean design and a clean UI now android need only to focus on optimization over the years so that they dont become slow after a few years iPhone does that best of performing good even after a few years.
Ya im really happy with pixel 7 pro / pixel 7 even though this is what the pixel 6 pro should have been
Helloooooo, there is an option on the setting to make the phone unlock directly on the home screen it is a very old option on iOS and Android as well, you're doing reviews buddy.
So should I get the pixel pro/14 plus or 14 pro? I need helpppp?
I have a Pixel 6 Pro, the selfie photos are often missed focus. It usually focuses on the background. Very disappointed. It would be great if the 7 had eyes auto focus like that of Sony. The photos are also processed a little more sharpening in most cases.
Got asked what I think of this video, a big 5 star, I really love your reviews, keep up
Thank you so much! That means a lot ❤️
Nice wallpapers. Can you post the link please♥️
It's insane to me that 5 hours of SoT (screen on time) is considered "great". Phones in 2022 should have at least 12 hours of SoT! You shouldn't need to charge your phone every day, it's a joke imo.
12 hours? You’re using your phone 12 hours a day?
Fast charging is great. Plug your phone in and after an hour you’re good to go.
@@SEAN31680 no, the point is you shouldn't need to have to charge your phone every day.
I am using galaxy m51 now with 7000mah battery. I get 12 hr sot average.
Now i want to upgrade but i dont want to at the same time.
@@murshid.k7339 Before now, I haven't heard of the Samsung Galaxy M51.
7000 mAh sound like a dream, but other specs are pretty outdated.
The screen protection - guerilla glass 3+, is very bad and does not help a lot against drops.
Plastic back and frame isn't inherently bad. A lot of the times it can be better than glass/ metal. It is just cheaper.
There is no water resistance.
The processor is based on quite old technology, but it should definitely still be fast enough.
The biggest pain point for me is the 128 GB storage. In 2023 you need at least 256 GB and 8 GB RAM. The M51 also uses UFS 2.1, which is very slow.
The main camera seems to be good, but the others are just gimmicks. 12 MP ultra wide is useless. The resolution is too low to be usable. The 5 MP macro and depth sensors is also just bs and won't help with anything meaningful..
Then the video recording is really outdated, only being able to support 4k 30fps.
Speaker wise, it doesn't have stereo speakers (2x speakers that work together) - this is a game changer for listening to content on your phone.
No WiFi 6 and only Bluetooth 5, with no aptX support.
The USB is only 2.0, this is very slow for moving files from your phone to your PC.
25W charging is also quite slow for a 7000 mAh battery.
So the 7000 mAh is great, but the rest of the phone is really outdated.
Whenever something good is said about a Pixel, you can always expect the Samsung/Apple crowd to show up.
When I got the pixel 7 pro I got a issue when I used so much games and when I exited each game it froze completely
Is the speaker audio still asymmetrical?
Could u revisit the 6 pro? I heard from mkbhd and other reviewers dat all or most of those bugs are gone now, is dat true? How good is the battery now?
I think MKBHD already made a video on that I doubt it would get many views if I made the same.
@@MatthewMoniz don't sell yourself short buddy
I had the poor call quality issues, with them always dropping off, also i could hardly get a 5G connection where my wife could on her iphone. I ordered the pixel 7 pro a couple of days ago so i'm awaiting on delivery.
I have iPhone 11 thinking of chamging to the google 7 pro thoughts ?
Being in IT and having used Samsung phones in the past when I went with my first Pixel phone 6P & Google Fi Ive never felt any of the new phones that I have owned have been anything but great devices.. 6P (though the battery issue toward the end was a bummer). Now I have the Pixel 5 and it has been a great phone. Simply put it works. Looking forward to the new 7Pro, if it is anything like the Pixel 5 I own now it too will be a great device.
Wait so you had the 6pro & downgraded to the 5?
@@noturavragenerd Actually it was the last Nexus, Nexus 6P
@@ScottHirschman oh ok lol
Nexus 6p was actually the last android I had before going back to iphones for a few years then back to Pixel 6 pro. Huawei nailed that device
You can change it to auto unlock your phone with face unlock
Assuming if we could get a pixel 6 pro of same price as pixel 7, then which one we should go Pixel 6 pro or pixel 7
Pixel 6 Pro
@4:08 you said that the pixel 6 pro doesn't have the option to change display quality? This isn't true you could change in settings just like on the pixel 7 pro
I have the Google pixel 6 pro and I've noticed after dropping the phone there's a noticeable rattle in the back cameras, I'm considering to get the pixel 7 pro as it has more better features and hopefully no rattle if I drop it
Google is doing it big 2 years in a roll. #teampixel 🔥🔥🔥
The intro is literally the opposite of my experience with nexus and pixel. I have yet to have an issue with any of my devices from google. I think the only issue I did have is I pointed my nexus 6p at a solar eclipse and the camera broke for some reason...like...just stopped working, I have had every pixel, and even my 6 pro has no issues.
Great video as always, Matt. Awesome job!
By the way, hope you could help me. I'm torn between the 14 Pro 256GB ($1020) and the 13 Pro Max 256GB ($895).
All I do is the following:
Social Media, Email, Video streaming, point and shoot picture and video, then game CODM.
I'm planning to keep a phone for 3-4yrs and wants something that can last a day with my usage.
Thanks Drew! Honestly they're both more than capable for the stuff you listed and will both last 3-4 years. I mean it seems you want a bigger screen so I'd probably lean towards the Pro Max.
@@MatthewMoniz awesome. Thanks, Matt and you are welcome!
Are the dynamic island and the 48MP camera worth considering or the 13 Pro Max as is is a great buy for $895?
I wish Google would make a professional camera with all of the lenses and settings (for good star photography, waterfalls, landscapes, etc) built in. Their AI is amazing.
You have to understand, smartphones photography and pure camera photography are very very very different. Professional cameras have higher quality optics that smartphones simply cannot match. The phone would be huge. But smartphones face such ridiculously powerful processors (cpu, GPU, TPU or ISP) and software that their computation photography can't be heat by a pro camera.
So it doesn't make sense for Google to make dedicated pro cameras. They're a software company.
@@jakublizon6375 Yep. I have a nikkon camera. That's why I'm wishing they would team up with someone and put those optics into a full on camera. The AI does some amazing processing that many mid-level cameras (non cell phone) don't do.
Love my G6P! Not giving it up yet! It is incredible!
thanks. what version 7 pro you testing (128 or 256 or 512)?
128
To be clear, it's face unlock not face ID, face unlock cannot be used for banking and payment apps. That still requires the fingerprint sensor.
You are correct!
How is the modem?
can I switch from apple to pixel
I hav a redmi note 8 about 5y ago, and i want a new phone, but da 7p is too expensive 4 me. So, is the 6p worth?
Matt, would you recommend me switching to the Pixel 7 Pro, from a S-21 Ultra?
I mean the S21 Ultra is still a good phone. I'd probably wait another year before upgrading to any phone.
@@MatthewMoniz thanks Matthew!
the only reason i dont like photos on pixel is that it`s very processed, I would love to have a pro mode. or simple Natural color gamut switch like iPhone photos look
How is the reception on the P7P vs the P6P? That's my biggest grievance from upgrading to the P6P from the P2 XL -- my reception was a huge downgrade, and it seems to be a common issue with the P6P. Hopefully that was resolved this year!
You streaming Dr Disrespect makes you a legend in my book. GGs.
Haha thanks love the doc
Do you or anyone ever have the 6 pro disconnect from Android auto even with a slight bump to it. I replaced the cable but still disconnects
My favorite Pixel ever. I did the right thing to upgrade this year from my 4 year old Pixel 3XL!
That’s going to be a massive upgrade! Enjoy
I had zero issues with pixel 6 pro. connection on my 6 pro was fine. why the heck does youtubers allways mention Iphone in theire rewievs 😡😡 just to be clear: pixel 6/7 pro is waaaaay better than Apples medio core overpaid phones
great great review 👏 I'm excited for the new pixel
Thanks for watching!
Honestly it looks like it made your skin look like your natural skin tone. Iphone tends to bleach out faces, even for mixed race people. Google has seemed to manage to bring out more natural colors
Finally a video!!!! Awesome video. After watching it I'm glad I pre-ordered the Pixel 7 Pro. I'm impatiently waiting for it to arrive right now. I'll be upgrading from the Pixel 4 XL. I think I'm going to miss the Soli sensor.
Thanks Marco! = ) It will be a sweet upgrade = ) Let me know how you like it when you get it in!
The pixel 4xl is a beast I loved that phone , I switched to the pixel 6pro and I've been happy with it
i was having call issues on my 6 pro and s21 ultra here and there on verizon. my pixel 6 pro performed way better on goolge fi which let me know it was a issue with verizon. it has gotten better with verizon over time. still having issues on s21 ultra here and there on verizon. My 6 pro fingerprint reader works 99% of time and with a glass screen protector. my s21 ultra didn't work well with a glass sceen protector. without the glass screen protector the s21 ultra worked 99% of the time.
Swap to T-Mobile or metro instead lmfao, Verizon is overpriced garbage.
Matt with the hard hitting facts!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
VYPPPPEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Thanks man! I appreciate it
@@MatthewMoniz what’s up my dude! It’s been tooo long!!! Hope all is well with you!!
Either I'm lucky or I'm not fussy but I've had all the pixel phones so far except the A's and I've honestly never had any of the problems people complain about.
I like face unlock not automatically unlocking the phone cause sometimes I just wanna check the time or my notifications
I'm so incredibly excited to hear you had a good experience with the modem. I dumped my 6 back in feb due to the call drops, quality issues, cell disconnects, wireless disconnects and just absolutely terrible use as a PHONE. This sounds like it improved on everything that made me dislike the 6 enough to get rid of it. I'm going to give the 7 pro a shot.
Sorry to burst your bubble. I got my pixel 7 pro yesterday. I installed 2 sim cards and they seemed to work fine with the wifi on. Today however I had no signals for the whole day on either sims. It didn't work even after restarting and resetting the mobile network as instructed by Google chat support etc. I eventually noticed there was an unfinished android update and so I went ahead to finish the update. That seemed to fix the problem now. This put doubts in me so I checked the mobile network signal strengths in setting/about phone page against my p6p. I can say in my case the P7p mobile signal strength is almost exactly the same as my p6p. So I'm quite disappointed as I had a real problem with my p6p network connectivity. I'll have to wait until I get to work tomorrow to see if P7p is any better because my p6p's network connectivity is at its worst at work. Hopefully, I'm dancing just in the shadows.
@@kianvoonyau3390 ahhh dont do this to me! I want to believe they fixed it!
@@greganson3627 I know right! I'm sooo disappointed it happened! Google really needs to get their shits together! I really hope it'll be fine when I get to work in an hour or so.
@@kianvoonyau3390 Please let me know if you don't mind...this issue with the 6 is what is holding me back. I really hope it's not something that will continue with the 7
@@greganson3627 Phew! What a relief! I believe the network connectivity problem yesterday was due to a mishap during the update. I turned off the wifi and still had signals all day at work. The connection did appear to be better than my p6p. Hopefully my little hiccup hasn't put you off pixel 7 pro. 😄
My Pixel 6 Pro had some things I didn't like. The battery outside of battery saver just wasn't enough. My S21+ gets me battery all day as to where the Pixel 6 Pro always needed a charge at some point during the day. The screen sometimes wouldn't register touches if there was an X to close something on the curve. If it at least had a longer lasting battery I would love the phone. The speakers definitely weren't my favorite. Never had any major issues other than that. Hoping the Pixel 7 Pro fixes that stuff.
P7 is basically the p6 on Android 13 with an okay battery
@@brokenSnake I'm now getting a full day of battery out of the Pixel 7 Pro as opposed to the Pixel 6 Pro. No more accidental touches or dead spots. The extra brightness is nice too. The bit of extra width to the phone makes it much more comfortable to hold. I'm much happier with this over the Pixel 6 Pro.
The updates fixed the battery 🔋 issues
@@zakibey7 I wound up getting rid of the P6 Pro and got the P7 Pro on launch. Much better experience.
I've had zero issues with my.pixel 6 pro
I want to buy pixel.but which is the better between 6 pro and 7.
Might just have to get the P7P from my P2
I actually love the look of the phone. As a device, it ticks most of my boxes at a good price.
Ya i mean its personal preference in terms of design but for the price its great
I think the pixel6/7 pro and galaxy s10 plus have the best designs definitely my favorite phones when it comes too looks
Great video .Let's compare it to the Iphone 14 Pro Max to the Pixel 7 Pro.
Thanks Phillipe!
I never had problems on my p6p so i dont think it would be a big update for me
Honestly better telephoto and macro just makes me wonder why we didn't already have it. Not worth it for me either
You got me sold on the Pixel 7 pro. Absolutely fantastic review for a phone I've been yearning to purchase. Keep up the great work my man!
Thanks Asjad I appreciate it. Let me know how you like it if you end up buying one. Also the Pixel 8 Pro is being announced this week.
most of the improvements mentioned are just software updates, the extra zoom is at the expense of a smaller sensor and the new visor design is more refined but missing the unique look of the 6
as for actual improvements i guess it would be the AF on the ultrawide and 4k60 on all cameras, which could be a software thing also... and the brighter screen, chances of this even being a minor revision of the same panel are slim to none
In terms of weight, does the 7Pro feel bulky?
Worth the upgrade from Pixel 6?
Because they made it a bit wider it feels thinner. The Pixel 6 Pro feels thicker due to the sides of the display dropping earlier if that makes any sense.
I really can't see the difference between 6 pro and 7 pro. Maybe 7 pro is slightly brighter, but is it better, more natural? Don't think so.
On your video the Pixel 6 pro it has a pure black screen on the phone, whereas the pixel 7 pro seemed more grey than Black, perhaps you had max brightness on P7pro and over saturated Blacks.
why does the 6 pro get put put the video on the camera
I have a Pixel 4 XL but I don't know if I wanna change to the Pixel 7 or 7Pro!
Wait for pixel 8
For me Pixel destroyed iphone video, just of the fact pixel can record 4k60 on all the camera lenses simultaneously but iphone can NOT.The stupidest thing is they allow u to use zoom camera and start recording 4k60 but it will not let u unzoom, like dude i missed the shot coz it moved closer and i lost track
I love my pixel 6 pro. No need to change
How many speakers have you
What about now ?
I don't like the m button next to back space. Always hot the back space
