    Nice work on that GoDallah. Both decorating and sharpening. Nice explanations on the use of Jnats. The number 200 winner should be very pleased.

    I've been watching for a while, never noticed how new the channel was. Kinda figured you were in the game a while, couple years, 10k subs, maybe...
    What I'm getting at is, you're doing as good a job on the videos as you are the razors.
    I'm a total newb to this, I come from the knife world, where I'm kind of a novice, too, honestly. I've yet to buy my first razor, but I've already learned a lot from you.
    Anyway... New subscriber.

    Loved your comments while on the stone! I agree with everything you said; especially with getting mesmerized by the feel, and turning a quick process into a very long one 🙂

      Totally agree 👍 I can't stand lengthy honing . You loose me on jnats talk 😅 but I listen in envy at your knowledge Eric ! Wonderful artistic work on that gold dollor. ✨️

      Yep, sometimes I tend to go a little longer than needed. As long as I’m enjoying it, I promise not to complain 🤣.

      @@Martins-Shaves123 I bet, it’s hot ad hell here in Louisiana, but we are blessed with 80-100% humidity. I would not know how to act in that dry Moroccan heat.

    Nice video Cajun! I think there are definitely a lot less junk cotitules out there than jnats. Although I think it is easier getting a razor grade jnat than coticule (but that might be the same as arguing who makes the best soda)
    Also looking for another coticule or 2 for the collection. Looking for a larger stone and then a LPB or another interesting mine. I probablu won't add anything else on the jnat side though. If I do would probably be a 6x2 travel stone.
    I also enjoy a koma and tomo after a 8/10k synthetic. I think for anyone out there without a koma, doing a couple tomo sessions also works.

      Thanks. I travel for work, I have found that 3x5ish size is perfect for a travel size Jnat. With a Coti, 1.5x6 can be a very affordable travel option, or a nice barber hone size 2x4. Thanks for watching, and looking forward to your next one.

    I have not seen the packing peanut test before. Why no tape on the spine this time?

    • @BigEShaves
      @BigEShaves  Před měsícem +1

      With the spine work I did. I have honed this razor a couple times with no tape to slowly and passively touch up geometry. This last honing my bevel was perfect on both sides. Very even and straight. I did not want to tape and mask an issue. I plan to give them one away and don’t want to pass on an issue. My plan is to go back to one layer of tape on the next honing. I find that all Gold Dollars (of Monkeys) shave better with one layer of super 88. That’s the plan moving forward.
