    I put the Leo Vince on my 2014 CB500X, and I'm okay with the sound, although I preferred the OEM sound. I wanted the lighter weight. It did ruin the functionality of the centrestand. I just took it off and probably won't put it back on. So I lost even more weight. I feel a little more power but I wasn't power hungry to begin with. Next, new foot pegs and I'm going on a diet to see if I can drop 30 more lbs... LoL

Amazing recommendation, thank you. I will try to keep anybody interested posted about how it's holding up. I hope the paint issue won't be that bad. In the end it's just a paint whatever. • @perrybeyer7531
    @perrybeyer7531 Před 3 lety +3

    I had a Scorpion Serket Taper on my 2014 CB500X. Mid-pipe had a welded on tab for a center stand stop. Sounded better than stock and not too loud even with the dB killer insert out. Just loud enough to be heard by others but not annoyingly so and no drone at high speeds. It was around 500 bucks though. It was also half the weight of the stock silencer and looked great on the bike. Another benefit is that it was dyno tuned for the specific bike and no remapping was required.
    An exhaust upgrade does not add much power at all really. Maybe 1 or 2 HP at best. At first the extra sound is like a placebo effect. Since it sounds louder it must be a lot more powerful right? WRONG! Only a full exhaust system, remapping and a dyno tune will get more and not as much as you would think. A few extra ponies is all that is good for. Exhaust upgrades reduce weight and are louder. They do not make your bike any faster in reality.

    • @OregonMotorcycle
      @OregonMotorcycle  Před 3 lety

      In reality, pipe #2 made the bike faster. Easier to wheelie, front comes off the ground quick shifting into second. These two things are very apparent and not part of my imagination. I ride this bike everyday and can notice any lil changes on it. I’m very well versed in exhaust, and I’m here telling you there’s something up with pipe #2. None of this matters though as you are the expert here and I’m just some idiot claiming mass power gains from a slip on 🤣. Thanks for keeping me busy while sitting on the shitter.

    • @perrybeyer7531
      @perrybeyer7531 Před 3 lety +2

      @@OregonMotorcycle Yep, just some idiot sitting on the shitter with his phone. No, I'm not an expert but obviously neither are you and it's very apparent in your videos. I feel sorry for the fools who would follow your advice by fitting a clearly cheap and ill-fitting exhaust to their motorcycle. Especially since it does not already have a stop for the center stand that you seem to like and should, they're really nice to have. No expert here sir but I have probably been riding motorcycles longer than you have been alive. It's just too hard to listen to this crap advice you doll out without warning your viewers. The CB500X is a great little bike that can easily be ruined by adding cheap shit to it. Add nice stuff to it that is designed to fit and function properly and you will have a true upgrade with real benefits, not a cheap looking, jerry-rigged "solution".

  • @jacksondwyer6163
    @jacksondwyer6163 Před 3 lety

    So I got a few problems with the stuff I ordered from your link. Maybe the bikes are slightly different designs. The middle pipe doesn't bend anywhere near enough past the swing arm or up in the direction to the foot peg for the kemimoto exhaust to fit on my 2021 cb500x. Not to worrie though I'm getting a custom middle pipe made up. The bark busters didn't fit either, I had to get a pair that are specifically made for the 2021 cb500x and just ordered them through my local bike store.

  • @HondaKevin28

    I saw in another video that you had the OEM Honda center stand. Did you have to take it off for this since the stopper for the stand is on the OEM exhaust? Not sure but I think the SW-Motech center stand might work as it doesn't have the same type of stopper.

    1. If you want some noisy motorcycle just buy a harley Davison.
    2. And most importantly the cb500x is a light motorcycle on the highway so you need to keep it a little bit heavier, and if you want to save the money instead of buying the new exhaust and coupling pipes........ Drill out the stock exhaust , yes sounds absurd but (and i repeat after watching what you did in this video) you get pretty much the same results bigger drill bit bigger noise.
