Ethiopia is arguably the most important country to Africa.
This is not a typical passport heavy production where the squad came out to film. I was in town for one of my best friends weddings & thought man let me create something. So I found a local up and upcoming filmmaker to shoot the video.
I really enjoyed my time with people and culture. Most people around the world have never seen Ethiopia like this before. Learning about the raw meat, dance culture and accommodations that makes you feel so comfortable that you just feel at peace.
This was a short trip and is definitely the warm up for what is to come in a future episode.
There is so much beauty in this country that you never see from western media.
That was my mission in this video.

Western media don't show because it is their job to report bad news, not good news. Most AFRICAN Media don't even show Ethiopia at all. Africans should learn to market themselves and stop demanding others to do it for them.
They don't like to show any prosperity about Africa or any country in Africa because it doesn't support European propaganda or agendathey like to always betray Africa is a poor destituted place yet they're over there looting to continent of all of its resources!

Ethiopia is great?? There are multiple genocides/massacres happening here. The Tigrigna, Saho, Qemant, Kunama and more are all suffering for their ethnicities. The Federal Goverment has become so disconnected from the needs of their people, unable to honor any ceasefire agreement and busy building legacy projects and parks at a time of war. But this so-called "Great" nation should have its issues ignored and unknown to the west and should be glorified as an adequately functioning state right? I only WISH the west brought to light the problems in my country more.
I don't mean to discredit Africa, but give credit to places the west has ACTUALLY slept on such as Rwanda and Botswana. THESE are the types of nations that currently represent the greatness of Africa, not Ethiopia.

@thekingdedede There is the element of the unknown here. There is some issue with God that maybe has to do with scripture (Solomon) and those claiming to be of God but not. I search for truth and then see if it can be brought back to this world. I feel from your comment that you are truly searching. It is just too much happening here too quickly. Too many people with their hands in the pot. I feel you must be careful here on all levels.
I think as Africans we must find innovative ways of telling our own story rather than letting other nations create skewed narrative about us.
From a German perspective: I'm not sure whether you are Ethiopian or from another African country and talk about Africa in general, but I read a lot of positive things about Ethiopia.
For example I read about the amount of (clean) electricity the Dam will provide to the Ethiopian people or how the Economy is rapidly improving and liftet a lot of Ethiopians from poverty and also how friendly people are when you actually meet them.
I would love to visit Addis Ababa some time in the future, but for now I still have some security concerns.
If you're not from Ethiopia then I'm sorry to bother you, just remember that we're reading a lot of positive information about African countries as well, even though the negatives are very present as well 🙌

Ethiopia is my 2nd country in my "To go" list next to India. The people are so welcoming and warm, they have the most beautiful people in my opinion.

Ethiopia is very beautiful and the people and the food was awesome, I visited in 2007 and way overdue to return, I think everyone should go there.

Ethiopia is not the "cradle of civilization", as civilization did not begin in Ethiopia it only began in the 4th millennium B.C. in modern day Iraq (Mesopotamia). Ethiopia is called "the cradle of humanity" because anthropologists believe the earliest "ancestors" of modern humans (Homo genus) emerged from the vicinity of what is now Ethiopia over 300 000 years ago. Unlearned people often confuse "cradle of civilization" (ignoring the meaning) and "cradle of mankind/humanity" and mixing the two. Civilization refers to human settlement (creation of cities) and not the origins of the world.
Every other comment is men saying "I wanna go there for the women" as an Ethiopian woman, this scares me that our country is going to turn into the Thailand of Africa - a sex tourism epicenter 😢

Ethiopia has devoloped greatly and keeps going the past years. Not just in Addis but all over the country. It is a a rich country in many ways. Media wont report about this because obviously like said before they have certain agendas. Currently "they" try to destabilize the country as much as possible. The opposition forces even get funded by western states as it is tradition to do so in this world.

I've visited Ethiopia a few times and absolutely love it! I just finished watching this full video and enjoyed your adventures. It is just the way you have explained and experienced it. And yes! the women are definitely of the most friendly and beautiful in the world. This is why we need to own and control our own media to show the positive aspects of Ethiopian culture and way of life. This goes for all countries in the African continent!

My dad lived in Ethiopia all his life, until he left due to private reasons. In Ethiopia, he can confirm that it’s beautiful, and the coffee is something else! It is delicious for him. The food!! Is dazzling. I tried injera and it was delicious! I love the food, and Amharic is pretty fun to learn. Sure, it can be hard, but it’s worth it. But if you go there, I recommend learning Amharic.
