Omg I can’t believe how much he’s grown!! I’ve been watching since he got diagnosed (I have type 1 myself and am from MN too!!) and holy cow!!! Henry is such a wonderful young man!!!

Everytime I watch you it calms me because nobody understands what goes into having a diabetic child . My daughter is a 4th grader and this has been the most challenging year so far. She was diagnosed at 3. Her blood sugar fluctuates so much now and I get so nervous
Agree with you all one day of high is better than being low so far away from home. I would of eaten the Sunday too no matter how high I was! Great job Henry.
I would of been worried too! My daughter went camping for 3 days with her 6th grade class no medical staff 😳 I was very nervous but she made it! It’s hard to let them go but you have to. I guess the cabin gathered around and watched while she changed her Omnipod. So her group learned a little extra. Lol. Henry thank you for sharing your day with us. We enjoyed watching!

Not abnormal at all to be nervous. I would be the same exact way. One good good thing about it is maybe it’ll be a tad easier the next time he is far away for a long time.

I firstly enjoy viewing your videos ❣️Amy your boys are growing up especially your son Henry and I think my point of view is doing great with his diabetes must be hard to keep track and do all the time. I personally never experienced any Types of diabetes I thank God for that because I couldn’t keep up with diabetes
I am proud of you both. He is growing up so fast. He is learning and making his own decisions. I am glad he got to go on a field trip. . I need prayers I am having issues to get my insulin pumps and vials. My insulin is going to cost me 3,050.69 dollars and my pods 500 dollars

How does he feel when he's that high? Is it like when blood pressure is high? I'm just curious. I can't imagine how hard it is to let him go... good for you for letting him go and have a blast.
For me when I’m high I typically feel tired weak sometimes I’ll get a headache more thirsty but other times it goes unnoticed…. Referring to my blood sugar obviously

This video made me 😢 I feel you because we go through the same path 24 hours a day every day with my son same as Henry's age, who just started on Onipod...Amy does Henry's pod stays on its place..So far 3 of his pods fell of and we waisted too much insulin. Not happy about this. Glad that he had an awesome short trip. Ours is coming in a week and my stress level is super high already. Thanks for sharing 👍

What would his number be if it were an emergency situation? High and low.
I honestly don't know... My guess would be low because you could go unconscious but if you were to high for too long you die as well... But we worry about lows at this point.
Thank you for sharing. I don't have a type 1 kiddo but I have been following your family since 2009ish.
I do have a question. Why wouldn't Henry's teacher or school have someone trained to give an injection? I understand that yall have decided for him to manage independently at school which I think I would feel similarly. Not trying to be intensive or question your set up. Just genuinely curious.
We live in a small rural farming community... Very small school. If we lived up where we use to live in St. Paul, the school would have sent a nurse along. It's just different out in the rural areas.
