  • The Bhartiya way is sustainable and strives for the welfare of all. It is important that we regain the comprehensive knowledge system of our heritage and demonstrate the ‘Indian way’ of doing things to the world. This requires training generations of scholars who will demonstrate and exemplify to the world a way of life so unique and peculiar to our great civilization.
The NEP, 2020 recognizes this rich heritage of ancient and eternal Indian knowledge and thought as a guiding principle. The Indian Knowledge Systems comprising Jnan, Vignan, and Jeevan Darshan have evolved out of experience, observation, experimentation, and rigorous analysis. This tradition of validating and putting into practice has impacted our education, arts, administration, law, justice, health, manufacturing, and commerce.
The Sangam IKS series is the outcome of MoE, IKS division project work undertaken by Sangam Talks to disseminate this tradition.
    About the talk:
Indian Ayurvedic Medicine is known world wide but Indians also practiced surgery and other higher medical procedures in ancient times. The Texts like Sushrut Samhita and Charak Sammhita are the evidences that Ancient Indian society had a developed medical science and public health awareness. The narrative imposed by the Colonial Missionaries, Socialist Academia that Indian society was segregating certain sections of society is also refutedby the speaker with evidence from texts like BhagvadGita.
    About the Speaker:
Raj Vedam holds a doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering with many years of multi-disciplinary experience, and has developed a strong research interest in the history of sciences, mathematics and technology. His research shows unacknowledged but significant contributions of ancient Indians to sciences and math, impacting several civilizations over different periods of time. While Western texts on the subject enforce a parochial narrative sourcing all sciences and math from ancient Greece or Rome or Egypt, Raj Vedam presents contrary facts and evidence to show their indebtedness to the Indian civilization. He has presented his findings in over 200 public talks, several teacher training workshops, several research publications, and offers two courses on the same at Hindu University of America.

One of the best session on Hygiene Practices of the past Vs now Pseudo-Intellectual Orchestrated Discrimination. Sad part is that the then our ancestors knew it and lived as per self-induced restrictions to safe guard public health. But their descendants now see the opportunity to play victim. Well there may be few anti-social elements in the past who used such practices for their ulterior motives. But, the practices have had a valid reason.
Dr.Raj Vedam has given a detailed talk. Namaskaram sir.

    Everything makes sense.
The surgeon performing surgery puts on the mask for the safety of the patient who is undergoing surgery rather than for the Doctor performing the surgery.
It's because the immunity of the patient is at it's low and therefore pathogens from the doctor should not infect the patient thereby further delaying the overall recovery of the patient.
Yes, the Brahmins have the weakest immunity and therefore should practice the untouchability.
The untouchables are harmless irrespective of who touches them therefore the onus lies on the people with weaker immunity to stay untouched especially by people with stronger immunity.
Brilliant Vlog by Guru Raj Vedam Ji.
This vlog has connected several dots that have been plotted in my mind from several years .
Thank you Guru Raj Vedam Ji !

Much of our Ancient Bharatiya Medical n Healthcare Knowledge was so intricately woven into our way of life, that it was Common Cultural Knowledge. People really didn't need special instructions except in acute, severe or chronic cases .

Excellent talk. This is the kind of information that ought to be included in our text books so every Indian is aware of the basic non-hierarchical structure of our ancient society, and why different conduct was necessary with those from diff. occupations.
The relevance of saucha even in today's modern world cannot be overemphasized, and for this our accumulated ancient knowledge is a gold mine of information.

Great to hear about the origins of the varna system and how its misinterpretation, intentional or unintentional, is forced into the education system. I guess the more practical and relevant question for Indians is, did the so called “forward castes”EXPLOIT the system? And what are we doing about it today, politically and as a society? Step change can only happen with education and economic development.

Thank you, today I learned a whole ne way at looking at some problems. The only remark I would like to make is, that if hygiene is the only concern, this is interesting. However, then it should also be the case that within these groups it is possible to earn and live decent lives. I come Europe with very little understanding of Indian culture. Even if you work with death, extreme dirt whatever it should not be looked down upon. That’s the only thing I am unsure about. These roles are vital for healthy communities. It also teaches, that to an extent and careful exposure immunity can be obtained. It would be interesting to know the health and death data in that regard.

True, even if some religiously authoritarians promote it we must continue reforms and take them away from their authorities if needed. I think only Shankaracharyas of 4 matas insist on caste heredatory hirerarchal system. we must protest against them enough so they can reform themself.

What happened after Vagbhatta? Our ancestors did not do anything after that. Why are we following the West now? It's a waste of time to go back to the past. Face the present and work for the future.Ayrveda is almost dead .

      @Yogi_The_Bitter_Truth_2408 Před 4 měsíci

nonsense. ayurveda is still present more then western medicine acoss Bharat in every native home except westernised homes of western slaves. it is waste of time for planning about future without learning wisdom and truth from past. unless we know what we lost we cant revive it. you at least do job of dying and get away from our path.

Ayurveda is more alive then western poisons in the name of "medical science" which is a pseudo-science. western medical science deals only with the symptoms not the root cause of the diseases that's why it's inferior to Ayurveda. it has stolen almost everything from Ayurveda and other native sciences from non-western sources like Chinese, native-american medical traditions and so on. your western master didn't tell you this.
