  • Is it better to be right or to be happy? Is it better to be objective...or to be rich? Let's explore some empowering beliefs ENFPs and other Idealist types can adopt to increase the chances of reaching your goals and creating the life you want. Subscribe: bit.ly/ytsubdreams
    We're living in a time where a lot of people hate on "the 1%" and a lot of people like Jordan Peterson and Sam Harris calling our attention to inaccurate beliefs or even just the idea of how we define truth. I hate evil bankers as much as the next ENFP but what effect does a belief like "you get rich by stealing and cheating" have on your own life...and your own chance of succeeding as a freelancer or entrepreneur?
    As I said above, this video is for all the Idealist types including INFPs, INFJs, and ENFJs in addition to my ENFP people :)

    Wow, I needed this so much. Fellow ENFP here, and I do the best in life when I believe that the sky is the limit. On the other hand, when I stop and wonder if I’m being rational, or I realize that the numbers are against me, I feel totally trapped. And I don’t think there’s anything more self defeating or depressing for an ENFP than feeling trapped. That’s where I’ve been for a little while, feeling trapped in my career path and realizing that I chose it as a cop out because I didn’t know what I wanted to do, and I didn’t want to do hard work. I’ve been stuck thinking, “But am I capable of doing this other thing? How successful could I really be in that field? What if I find myself at this same point in the future, no matter what I do.” I was feeling that way, then this video pops up. I feel confidence seeping back in.

      Hope Lorren hi fellow ENFP here. Also going through a similar thing. Just started a job 2 months ago and realize it is so wrong for me. Trying to figure out my next step (have to stay here for a year minimum due to the contract so I have 10 months on the side to figure it out) but I’ve been feeling way less confident and a lot more self doubt than I’ve had before starting this job. But this video helps :) hope things are going better for you now!

    As a muslim i have realized that our belief on the destiny sometimes stops us (many muslims) from struggling though hardships. "It wasn't ment to be". However after studying my religion more I found that struggles are not really something that should stop us, it's the time you need to show God and everyone that you really want what you want and get ready to struggle to get there. A "test" of our true intentions. How to get though is to renew the intentions and make sure you are contributing to mankind and not just oneself. 😊

      Agreed. We often call out 'Why me?' when we are struggling. We forget that it were us who chose to go through.

      As a Christian, this resonates with me! (The mindset is similar across both faiths, I think). I have suspected this might be the case before but it makes me feel really encouraged to hear another person reflect the same insight. I had something happen recently where I experienced a setback and it showed me how determined I was to go after what I truly wanted. I feel like sometimes that’s what it takes to make us realize that something is really worth fighting for. Thank you for sharing exactly what I needed to hear. ❤️

    The first part of the video you’re totally saying the truth
    Can you also make a video about how to combat anxiety as a enfp?
    It would be a cool topic
    Also I totally agree on the second part. People who create get rewarded because people like what they do

    For years I prided myself on doing hard labor for low pay, because it supported my need to feel better than people who chase big money. I was a renegade. ~ After a long time of hearing people criticize & complain about rich people, a bell rang ~ There’s no glory in being dirt poor. There’s nothing wrong with being rich. And, I’m tired of listening to people complain about what other people have. The reason why so many people are embroiled in poverty is precisely because they hate the rich & successful. I allow myself to love everybody, including rich people .. thereby giving myself permission to be one .

    Will have to ingrain the second belief!
    People who give value and contribute are rewarded.
    I really really want to help people with anxiety and stress issues in finding a way out to a better place, thought I don't know how to do that yet.. but as you say, there's always a way. ♥
    Thankyou for this Dan :)

    This video may have changed my life. You presented this material in a very nuanced way. You're not a communist but at the same time you indicated that you hate Goldman Sachs and Amazon. This was exactly what I needed to hear. I'm gonna stop wealth from influencing my decisions from this point forward. As an ENFP I'm too awesome to remain a hermit.

    • @enfp
      @enfp  Před 5 lety

      Thanks Alice! I should clarify, as I may have misspoke in the video, I have mixed feelings on Amazon and the impact it had or will have on the world and human behavior in general...but I've also sold 10,000s of books and really benefited from their programs for self publishing authors... and do shop there sometimes... So mixed feelings, a lot being positive.

    IDK if this is empowering but I’ve been told and seen for myself that “I have everything I need to succeed.” It’s the sorting out, the finding and utilizing those resources that requires effort. The official MBTI test revealed my strengths, things that come more easily to me, and my blind spots, sides of myself that are hard for me. As an ENFP, it took all of my concentration not to skim the test results. They stated these are “preferences” not unchanging states. I’d rather be who I am, more easily picking up skills and arts, then being good at my tertiary and inferior functions. These are just my preferences, and no, I can’t always realize one of my good ideas like, Jordan, but who else would even think to step out of their comfort zone to try that? That’s an unusual person.

    Great video 😊 Ah yes there’s a lot about the evils of capitalism on my FB feed at the moment, like communism was so great 🤦‍♀️ Anyway I hate talking about politics because it always gets me in trouble so I’ll share the belief that helps me the most, from the poem Invictus, and that is I am the master of my fate and the captain of my soul 🙂

    While I agree to a lot of what you say I think that the "you can bee anything" thing is dangerous. It is limitless and humans have limits. If I can bee anything then it is never enough, I am never done and I it can be hard to be satisfied.
    The trick is to see the truth and still dare to dream. In defiance I dream...

    You know what's funny? Usually your videos are like a total flow, here you made a cut like all three seconds. You must have though really carefully what to say here. I like the way you think though.

      @enfp  Před 5 lety +1

      Haha good observation! My girlfriend Gabby has been helping me with editing...which sometimes leads to me messing up a lot more than usual since I know we can just cut it. Other times I think she cuts when I'm actually talking smoothly, it just helps make the videos a little easier to watch. And yes...some topics, I'm thinking a little more carefully about!

    As a fellow ENFP I'm bit disappointed in the second part of the video. Maybe here we can see a bit the influence of you being american and me european. Or because I have my strong sociological influence... to me your view on the social-economical world is a bit narrow-minded.
    1. When we demand for socialist or communist societies, we're not thinking: oh all succesful people are stealing or are evil. I know there are rich people who worked for it hard, that took risks. It is possible, that some of the people who come from a really low social stand, work hard and become succesful - but there is also the support of others or good luck involved (when you're not a stealing asshole ;)). Nothing we do, we do solely by ourselves, we're all influenced by society and people. For instance from what kind of families we come from is an important factor. This doesn't have to be about money only... this can be social capital (like good contacts, habitus). We live in societies with intersectional discrimination based on your gender, race, social status etc. And also your physical and mental health determines a lot unfortunately. People that have difficult backgrounds in these kind of areas have to work hard even more and it would be ignorant to not consider that.
    2. The believe that everyone can be rich, is a self-preservative, capitalistic lie. Just because someone of the lower class made it through with hard work doesn't mean everyone can, eventhough they work just as hard and are really talented - cause that's not how our current capitalistic system is built. You need people you can exploit, to gain that much money.
    3. The goal of a lot of modern socialists is also to reevaluate: what is considered as important work and how should that be transmitted in your salery? Is the work of an artist, of an athlete or an entrepreneur more important than for instance the work of caregivers or construction workes etc? No, I don't think so. The actual goal would be to realise that everyone can give something else in this world based on their talents and that non of that is actually less or more valuable than others. The market just leads us to believe that some jobs or things are more important. And to some extent different incomes would be okay, but not in those crazy dimensions we see today.
    I always like going back, thinking about the first people that lived on this earth. They didn't know and needed money - everyone contributed in the society with what they were capable of. And its said that a human back then was actually more multitalented than today. I just hope to give another perspective :) ... And all of this doesn't mean that we shouldn't believe in ourselves but it would be ignorant to not look at the social obstacles people have to face that prevents them from "succeeding" in this capitalistic world. Actually I think it's even more crucial for your own well-being to believe in yourself despite the fact that you may not succeed but to know that this is not you being "not good enough" but the market regulating. And that we need solutions that help the majority of us for living a decent life .. oof long text :D

    • @stelytri8244
      @stelytri8244 Před 4 lety

      Simply put I believe the problem is not the people in the 1 % but the system, that enables 1% to become that rich and that makes all of us more greedy, egoistic and just focused on success and ourselves.

  • @TheHeroOfLimes
    @TheHeroOfLimes Před 3 lety

    Your argument about capitalism and people who are anti-capitalist is fundamentally misunderstanding the issue. Not here to argue. Not even going to say your argument is wrong. But your understanding of the movement is incomplete and you should do more research before covering the topic again.
