    I taught taekwondo for many years. I cant stress enough your point about taking breaks. Many athletes way overtrain, but it's a fact that you can't train subtle movements into your neurological system when you're tired. You'll get much better results through multiple short training sessions than one lengthy one.

      @@RickHolcombe Thank you. Actually, after posting my comment I did follow the link below the video and bought both of your available items. I've got something to work on with all this spare time. Would you allow me to make two suggestions for your consideration? On your site, when you offer an effect/training for sale, it would help if you included a video that demonstrates the effect(s). Also, perhaps you could give a rating for its level of difficulty: beginner, intermediate, advanced. It's just a thought, but I'm sure it would help some with their buying decision. I know I'm happy with my purchases!

  • @sivaneshbalakrishnan5526

    Hi Rick, once again thanks for all these enthusiastic videos about coin magic. I just re-started with the workthrough of card college from Roberto Giobbi. But am not sure to be switching coins for cards in the future. Are you doing resp. have you been doing card magic also? I find that all or most of the greats masters have been specialized in this field of magic (Bertini, Roth, Ponta the Smith etc.). To become really good at it, the focus has to be there. I find there are many good lessons that can be applied to coin magic in general (head movement, crossing the gaze, etc.). Keep up the good work!

    • @RickHolcombe
      @RickHolcombe  Před 4 lety

      I think coin magic will help you with any other area of magic. You are forced to think about so much more, other than the sleights themselves. You are correct, it does involve the whole body and the eyes.

    What is a source for half-dollar coins, replicas or similar sized alternatives? I find quarters too small and "silver" dollars too large for me.
    Actual half-dollar coins are hard to find.

    • @RickHolcombe
      @RickHolcombe  Před rokem +1

      You can ask any local bank. If they don't have them, they can order them for you. You can also check on Amazon or Vanishing Inc., but they charge way above face value.
      For real silver check coin shops, flea markets, eBay, and Amazon

      I asked my bank and wae told they would see what they could do. I never heard back. I looked on Amazon, etc, and by the time you pay shipping they are $4-5 each.

      Today I went to a local hardware store and looked through their assortment of metal flat washers. I found that what they call 1/2 inch, based on the opening in the center, has roughly the same outside diameter as a half-dollar.
      A 7/8 inch is just smaller than a Morgan dollar.
