  • In this video, I show you guys my preferred way to put together a reliable and affordable fuel system for ‘73-‘87 LS Converted GM trucks. The majority of these parts are readily available at local parts stores, and I just really enjoy the way they come together. This setup is good for around 400HP. If your setup requires more fuel, I would recommend a genuine Walbro 255 or Aeromotive 340 pump, etc… Hope y’all enjoy! Feel free to comment or ask any questions you’d like. Thanks for stopping by!

    Good video, I do basically the same thing except I use 3/8" brake hard line with short hose pieces at connections. It works well with an external pump also with a 100 micron pre filter, in that case I return to the filler neck so you don't have to pull the tank. I also place the Corvette filter/regulator as far forward as possible so a cool supply of fuel dead heads into the fuel rail. I use Walbro 255 pumps for everything and on vehicles that might suffer from heat soak or vapor lock sometimes I install a T into the fuel rail and tap the outlet and install a Allen plug with a .5mm hole (.017") in it to return a small amount of fuel keeping everything cool. Works like a dream.

    Love it man this is something different than I have seen done. You would need 3/8 for feed and 5/16 fitting for return line wherever needed but I like this idea for sure.

    1. On the sending unit I have a purple and gray wire which one goes to the gauge and the power wire.
    2. What do you use for the vent on the sending unit and a part number.
    Thks

    • @walkerperformance7626
      @walkerperformance7626  Před 2 lety

      The gray is the power wire for the pump and the purple is for the sending unit. I use the factory tank vent hard line and either run a small pcv filter on the end or a roll over valve.

    I just Ls swapped an 84 k10.. I believe they installed a walboro pump on the rail, and it is very noisy. I installed a new tank with new pick up and sending unit a couple years previous…. My question is would a pump inside the tank be a lot quieter?

    • @walkerperformance7626
      @walkerperformance7626  Před rokem

      Hey David. Yes, it would be much quieter, more efficient and you would see more longevity out of your fuel pump. Every conversion I do receives an in-tank pump. Externals are just a nightmare.
