    little tip man, when painting the hood, dont paint the bumber first.
    start at the back of the hood and work your way to the front.
    this will let you lean on the bumper/grill. to reach across.

      Why would you want to lean on what you're about to paint? Just make sure you can reach all the areas before you start and get a stool.

      @@mistersinister2043 if youre wearing relatively clean clothes and not covered in grease, you should be fine after using a tac cloth.
      never had any issues doing it that way.

    This product is awesome, it got to Spain not long ago, and instead of a (min) 1000 eur paint job, my brother paid 299 for PlastiDip and painted it himself. Best part is, when he gets bored with black, he can change the colour of the car cheap and fast.

      It'll dry out and impossible to remove. Then you will search how and you'll see they are selling some stuff also to remove it which still is alotta work lol. Plastidip is only good if u will remove it in a month or so. Years? It's no good

      @@jastradamus7323 thats not necessarily true, i peeled 3 year old plastidip off of my old car and it came off fine. The trick is to do more coats than you think you need. The more coats, the easier to peel. It really just comes down how well you prepare to eventually peel

      @@sko1beer I didn't have to recoat it over the years, but I think I used enough coats the first time. There have been times when I hadn't sprayed enough, and then I did have to recoat

    16:20 when you hold the gun make sure the nozzle is parallel to the car so you dont get darker towards the bottom of the spray. You can see where there are dark lines and then it gets lighter, to prevent that hold it parallel to the car.

      +rambo norris .. if you have someone who hates your guts they can f up your car whether it's dipped or not. Doesn't take much effort to key someone's factory paint. If someone is going to get you, they are going to get you.. dip or not.

      +DipYourCar I can add on that, if your car is dipped, it would probably take them longer to peel of the dip, than it would to key factory paint, and if they actually think the dip is paint, and they try to key it, you'll be happy there was dip there to protect the factory paint

    It looks great! I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
    1. How durable is the plasti dip, does it hold up to car washes? Does it begin peeling back on the front edge of the hood or front edge of the roof above the windshield?
    2. Will the finished coat hold up to hail? How long do you estimate the finished plasti dip will hold up (in terms of years), 1 , 2, ...5 or 6 ...or maybe more?

    You've come a long way in 11yrs. Im a body technician and certified PPG painter. Im spraying my 08 Yukon the same black. I have 24" gloss black wheels and the windows are all 5%, except the front. Im excited to see how it turns out.

    A good tip to reduce dust ect while painting especially if you are painting outside is to wet the floor where you will be spraying

    Looks good and very DIY. Only downside is that color really amplifies the crease/dent towards the front of the hood.

    My fav part is when he is doing the back side of hood and says hit from the back. I love this product and have recently started painting full cars and trim pieces along with my detail bizz. Its great on faded plastics and gets me alot of return and word of mouth customers.

      You really shouldnt. Dirt and stuff can land on your top coat and ruin it. Also, when your peeling when wet, the wind will dry the dip too fast and fuck ur finish up

    Great video. I want to do this but with all the douchebags where I live (So Cal - Woodland Hills) I know some punk ass hater will peel off the dip since all it takes is a fingernail and 2 seconds to peel off a chunk of dip.

    the reason for the spray gun trigger settings is to prevent paint drying in the nozzle. after spraying product hold the trigger for accouple of seconds (10) to remove product from the nozzle.

    Just done my grill and mirrors with plasti dip. Got to say i think it would be pretty hard to mess it up. It is very easy. All i'd say though is MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS COMPLETELY GREASE FREE.....i have a couple of patches it simply hasn't stuck to. But overall its an enjoyable product to use. Thanks for all your videos

I used cans though on the vids i have posted..... but i just received my new DYC spray kit and pearl pigments...and clear coat matte gals...matte black gal... And Top Coat gals....

      SeanMicsgotBeats remove it from the car and paint somewhere else, I plastidip my interior pieces and it's pretty easy. I just don't suggest it on high traffic areas of the car like door handles or pedals for example, theyll start peeling quickly

    Hey guy, have you heard or car wrap? Oracal or 3M from Germany. Gets the job done beautifully without the need of those equipment and without harming the environment except for the manufacture of the wrap in the factory. And peeling off is a snap. Plus the wraps are very resilient to micro debris damage and can withstand bird poop without leaving behind the acidic after color which you see on paint..

    I liked the suggestion I found on another video when regarding rotors and break calipers, you use trash bags. Cut the trash bags half way at the half way mark and then weave them behind the rims and around the important bits.
