Fonzie from DYC shows you how to plasti dip your entire car. Step by step instructions using the DYC.com Pro Car Kit. Smooth finish, easy masking, all help included. Matte black audi s4 with glossifier on the wheels
PlastiDIp is 100% removable, long lasting, and has zero affect on the car's OEM paint and clear coat.
7 years later and I'm finally ready to dip my ride haha. Great video dude!
Watch the updated version first 🚨
Same
Same here getting all my supplies from Amazon tho saving 200$
I’ve been watching a lot of the newer videos and noticed a significant improvement in technique, the gun, and the product. Keep up the great work Fonzie.
little tip man, when painting the hood, dont paint the bumber first.
start at the back of the hood and work your way to the front.
this will let you lean on the bumper/grill. to reach across.
Why would you want to lean on what you're about to paint? Just make sure you can reach all the areas before you start and get a stool.
@@mistersinister2043 if youre wearing relatively clean clothes and not covered in grease, you should be fine after using a tac cloth.
never had any issues doing it that way.
And the lines are from not having the gun parallel with the hood
@@brendentaylor8976 He overlap too much and didn't give it enough flash off time.
all yall hating him ... go look at him now.. go look at his paint now .. go look at his technique now .. this dude got me wanting to dip my car
Try it, and regret. It very soon looks really tired and scabby.
If I do this outside my house the neighbors are going to think I've completely lost my mind.
Lol
TRM H right
My neighbors would call the HOA 😭
Lmfaoooo!
😂😂😂😂
This product is awesome, it got to Spain not long ago, and instead of a (min) 1000 eur paint job, my brother paid 299 for PlastiDip and painted it himself. Best part is, when he gets bored with black, he can change the colour of the car cheap and fast.
Man I love how he used house hold items to do the job. He makes it looks so easy. Nice to see how fair he has come in his business to. Congrats man.
Amazing how much has changed over the years.
I was just thinking that!
It'll dry out and impossible to remove. Then you will search how and you'll see they are selling some stuff also to remove it which still is alotta work lol. Plastidip is only good if u will remove it in a month or so. Years? It's no good
@@jastradamus7323 thats not necessarily true, i peeled 3 year old plastidip off of my old car and it came off fine. The trick is to do more coats than you think you need. The more coats, the easier to peel. It really just comes down how well you prepare to eventually peel
@@Goaty-nb3wg hi in the 3 years did you recoat on top of the paint? i just ordered a spray gun never used one before and sould i wear a mask?
@@sko1beer I didn't have to recoat it over the years, but I think I used enough coats the first time. There have been times when I hadn't sprayed enough, and then I did have to recoat
2021 Fonzie would be telling 2011 Fonzie that he's doing it wrong. lol
lol 😂
2011 I was 1year old
Does sound travel well through plasti dip? I'd like to Plasti dip my neighbor's kids?
Make them a plasti dip underwear and feed them some ex-lax.
😂💚👍
wtf
Dafuggin Beast lol just use shrink warp
I plastidip my neighbor's dogs poop so I can pick it up wit my fingers and not touch it.
this is the only car thing my girl friend is interested in watching, I think she just likes fonzie
lol my fiance thinks i watch these videos just to look at Fonzie too when in reality i am interested in how to dip my car!!!
Did she end up leaving you yet??
😂
Can you do one on plasti dipping a house?
Um..like everyone would like..um ...leave the um like....um house.
Fonzie and the crew have come a long way. Wish your continued success.
I loved the final product that I didnt get to see good job ending the video in the dark
Look at y’all now with 1.05 million subscribers. You guys have come a long way.
Look how far Plastidip has come in 9 years
16:20 when you hold the gun make sure the nozzle is parallel to the car so you dont get darker towards the bottom of the spray. You can see where there are dark lines and then it gets lighter, to prevent that hold it parallel to the car.
The thing i hate bout plastip is if somebody hates your guts he can just fuck up your paintjob any day of the week
+rambo norris .. if you have someone who hates your guts they can f up your car whether it's dipped or not. Doesn't take much effort to key someone's factory paint. If someone is going to get you, they are going to get you.. dip or not.
+DipYourCar I can add on that, if your car is dipped, it would probably take them longer to peel of the dip, than it would to key factory paint, and if they actually think the dip is paint, and they try to key it, you'll be happy there was dip there to protect the factory paint
if someone wanted to do that, i would rather they mess up the plastic dip then key the actual paint on the car
Rambo Norris hold this L
Funny you say that cause I was thinking the same thing the other day..loosing your car on a parking lot cause you can't find it...cause your car is a totally different color??..that would be a bad day
Love dipyourcar. Been using their products for about 6 months now and I've been hooked ever since! Saving up for a DYC sprayer system so I can do my entire car! I don't care what anyone says about plastidip, it's amazing(if you put it on right of course)
I am watching this in 2018 and man you have came along way. Just shows how hard work and dedication pays off.
It looks great! I have a couple of questions, if you don't mind.
1. How durable is the plasti dip, does it hold up to car washes? Does it begin peeling back on the front edge of the hood or front edge of the roof above the windshield?
2. Will the finished coat hold up to hail? How long do you estimate the finished plasti dip will hold up (in terms of years), 1 , 2, ...5 or 6 ...or maybe more?
Thanks, in advance!
This video is gonna be big!! When I saw this first it had like 1000 views. Everyone that is planning to do the plastidip WILL watch this.
I love re-watching this video just to realize how far Plasti-dip has come.
You've come a long way in 11yrs. Im a body technician and certified PPG painter. Im spraying my 08 Yukon the same black. I have 24" gloss black wheels and the windows are all 5%, except the front. Im excited to see how it turns out.
I've always thought they were really professional at DYC and they always used appropriate language. But, at the end of this video I heard "fucking awesome" lol.
+Werewolfman25 its plastidip its in no way professional to begin with
pbbeast That's an opinion and a really invalid one. Anything can be professional, this is essentially painting a car which is an actual profession, pal.
+Werewolfman25 you just fucking owned him 😂😂
Dude look at the people who actually do this for a living they paint cars for an art that they like and get paid pretty damn well too especially like him
Exactly. There's a business in my area that does custom plasti-dip work and they get paid very well. A lot of customers too.
Imagine your neighbours are watching you while you dip your car and they are like "omg look he is painting his car! And it looks like shit. (first layer) And he is even painting his lights!" And later when they look out of the window then they see this :D
+Hunter178 i ran out of paint the last time i dipped my car.... looked like crap.. drove it for a week since i had to wait for more red. came out great after i was done though lol.
A good tip to reduce dust ect while painting especially if you are painting outside is to wet the floor where you will be spraying
Honestly when I saw u painting over the lights i freaked out 😂😂😂
Ur a genius bro
wow, watching this in 2016 is crazy
he looks so much younger
Scott Phillips Before he was ultra jacked lol
Yeah Fonzie loves biceps more than me lol

Great video! I learned how to dip my car and my driveway!!
Looks good and very DIY. Only downside is that color really amplifies the crease/dent towards the front of the hood.
My fav part is when he is doing the back side of hood and says hit from the back. I love this product and have recently started painting full cars and trim pieces along with my detail bizz. Its great on faded plastics and gets me alot of return and word of mouth customers.
"you wanna hit it from the back." well said fonzy.
I've been binge watching all of your vids. Incredible how far the tech and your company has come. Inspirational honesty.
You can tell Fonzie has stepped his game since this video
Seeing this video now bs how more professional he became is night and day. The way he preps vs loading the gun to spraying is a big difference.
I was about to email Fonzie and ask if I can dip my car outside since I don't have a Garage. Now I got my answer.
You really shouldnt. Dirt and stuff can land on your top coat and ruin it. Also, when your peeling when wet, the wind will dry the dip too fast and fuck ur finish up
Great video. I want to do this but with all the douchebags where I live (So Cal - Woodland Hills) I know some punk ass hater will peel off the dip since all it takes is a fingernail and 2 seconds to peel off a chunk of dip.
OMG! How young Fonzie was! He had a baby face.
the reason for the spray gun trigger settings is to prevent paint drying in the nozzle. after spraying product hold the trigger for accouple of seconds (10) to remove product from the nozzle.
Instructions not clear enough, got plastidip in my pee hole.
JosrRocks *vomiting*
;-)
I’m fucking dying
😂😂😂😂
🤣
28:42 "That's f*ckin awesome." hahaha agreeed this is an oldie for suree
Just done my grill and mirrors with plasti dip. Got to say i think it would be pretty hard to mess it up. It is very easy. All i'd say though is MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS COMPLETELY GREASE FREE.....i have a couple of patches it simply hasn't stuck to. But overall its an enjoyable product to use. Thanks for all your videos
How DipYourCar has grown. Living the dream. I'm glad you got this video outside. I'm not going to be able to use my garage for my whole car dip. So it's nice to see it can be done and looks great. BTW, your new Dip Gun is amazing.

Wtf was that noise
L
i farted.
Maniac child
I thought it was that wee fat kid from the internet videos . . " SNACKS" LOL

Parrot
This reminds me of The Jackal with Bruce Willis when he "plastidipped" his Minivan then ran it through the car wash when a group of people were trying to kill him.
Its mind blowing how far this company has come.
I’ve got a flexio system 4000 from Wagner. Think I’m finally gonna shadow black my 92 f150. Hell yeahhhh thanks Fonz, had to go back in time and see how well it came out. 💪🤙💯
How resistant is the plastidip?
Against mud and washings
How much dip did you use, and how long was the process?
Would you add the gloss as a 6th or 7th coat or earlier?
Great video.
I saw a 4X4 Landrover in Melbourne yesterday done like this. Looked awesome! First thing I thought was that it was a prop in a movie. Very sci-fi looking.
This is my go too video..... This is my first video that i ever watched that had plasti dip in it...... lol.. no idea what the hell plasti dip was.... This video inspired me to plasti dip my Fiat 500.... I used cans though on the vids i have posted..... but i just received my new DYC spray kit and pearl pigments...and clear coat matte gals...matte black gal... And Top Coat gals....
Hey, you've skipped some step at 21:39 to 21:41. There is a noticeable change in the appearance of the Hood. What did you do to it and aren't showing it to us ?
+David Cheishvili
good eye
+Kange FIN del primero jhw
its just that there's shade hitting the roof
applying another coat. Its basic painting. don't freakout
This video is 4 years old you should probably watch the newer ones
It could withstand like 312 degrees i believe so it should be fine unless you drive on mercury.
That's what I call perfect customer service!!!
is good to see real enthusiast do their own car ... take really great patience and hardship to work on such a beautiful ride... :)
Does anyone notice the dent in the hood??
I did
Yup
What difference does it make on a POS like this?
Jed Clampett
Yes i did :((
Does it leave alot of dust, or could I spray a car inside my garage?
That was intense. I am looking to Plasti Dip the silver parts on my FJ Cruiser. This definitely helps tons! I can tell it take almost an entire day
Dang! You are awesome. I have two cars and a van and I have a work to do and who knows I may make money off this training fr
I'm curious about the inside trim of the car???? How you handle that?
SeanMicsgotBeats remove it from the car and paint somewhere else, I plastidip my interior pieces and it's pretty easy. I just don't suggest it on high traffic areas of the car like door handles or pedals for example, theyll start peeling quickly
"When you wanna do the sides, come around and hit it from the back" Freudian Slip haha
bro 2017 here .. this is crazy ... Started from the bottom and look at him now .. bigg biceps and better crazy awesome plasti dip paint
I am hard to impress. But I have to admit its far better than I was expecting at about the 10 minute mark.
I wonder if I could paint my plane with it...
I bet you could, just a two seater, I guess it doesn't matter, I use it on my superbike on fiberglass at over 300km/h. It hasn't even tried to come up.
weight considerations?
Well the paint itself for a sedan once dried only weighs 2 lbs. That's nothing.
i think you have aviation grade paint. i had to strip some once..
lol
id like to see him dip a 2015 mustang and try to pull off the dip from those tail lights...
lol
Everyone can talk shit, but the fact that you're doing a job that will cost upwards of $1500+ for a quarter of the price, with relatively the same results, is impressive.
You wrapped this up nicely @ the end with, "fuckin awesome"
Good work, great post.
Wow! Been watching the latest videos and just came across this one. Holy hell how much you and the company has grown! This speaks to me so much though. I don't have a spray booth and didn't really know if I could do this outside.
Why do not cover the front of the radiator and air-conditioning? After all, is glued with plast dip.
probably why he got the r8, because he messed this one up
i wonder if you actually watched and listened to the whole video. maybe you should watch it again and actually listen and pay attention.
It was a joke lol
He specifically says I removed tge plastic cowling to place card board in front of the radiator. ..
why doesnt he wash the car first, i dont know anything about this but surely logic would suggest the car should be clean
same reason he doesn't havre any drop cloths protecting the pavers. This is an advertisement to the laziest of idiots who want to paint their car lol
man you can really see hoe far its come from their new videos, amazing
Hey guy, have you heard or car wrap? Oracal or 3M from Germany. Gets the job done beautifully without the need of those equipment and without harming the environment except for the manufacture of the wrap in the factory. And peeling off is a snap. Plus the wraps are very resilient to micro debris damage and can withstand bird poop without leaving behind the acidic after color which you see on paint..
How much PlastiDip have you needed for the car?
3-4 gal for this sized sedan
That poor Audi...
What do you mean?
The Gaming Chicken That poor Audi did not deserve such horrible treatment...
I know. it's a garbage car...
My mercy! You guys have come a looong way! You really deserve to be at the top!
Great video man. Gave me the confidence to try it out on my beater
my OCD REALLY did not like that he didn't tape the lights, or the wheels
or the radiator
He slid a flat a piece card board in to mask the radiator.
With a Wagner! Wow!😭
love how much techniques has changed. the amount of prep vs this is huge. just wondering if you would still recommend this method with less prep and will i be able to get same results?
i have it on my 1971 c10 for about 2 years in the sun and very minor fade but still looks good
24:56 holy shit is that a dent??
Why? Maybe on a old off-roading truck.
Shawn you would be better off using cheap bedliner on a mud truck it's the same price and a lot tougher
Actually, I think this is the most accurate video, because fonzy it's some kind of noob like the most of us and he's making the plasti dip with gear from the kit and in a house.
Watching this in 2021 after seeing their current videos is so cursed hE LOOKS SO DIFFERENT
how many gallon should i use for 2010 BMW 335I ?
who else is watching in 2017 and also I just realized that this was uploaded in 2012 wow
How log after each coat?
I liked the suggestion I found on another video when regarding rotors and break calipers, you use trash bags. Cut the trash bags half way at the half way mark and then weave them behind the rims and around the important bits.
How come 90% of the people commenting on this can't spell lol
They are the same people that dip a perfectly good Audi S4, and make it look like a cheap piece of shit.
+Josh it's all about marketing his crap.
I can spell "lol"
what the fuck are yew on about. We can spell anyfing.
Wrong place fella. This is for showing off painting skills. The spelling skills class is next door. Good luck
He has nice forearms:}
He has nice everything. 😆🤗
Omg looking at new vids and then this one you guys have made lots of success throughout the years this is awesome
Hope there's no bugs in your area. I've NEVER sprayed a car outside without some critter landing on it. No garage?
16:48 😏
Jay Sebastien that's what she said lol 😂😂
"how to get over spray on every car in your neighborhood"
Glad to see that Dom Mazzetti found a proper job
He makes it look so easy.
your spraying technique is so wrong...
it cant be to bad off. the car didnt look that bad when he was done. unlike your forehead, or in your case fivehead.
jeremy davis 😂😂😂💀
jeremy davis 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is just what I was looking for,the video was great besides it could of been longer to see the final finish.but getting ready to dip my surburban!!
Wow!!! Fonzie you have come a long way since this video.
17:50 "Hit it from the back"
I always do!
Lmao
