This is probably the most respectful rebuttal video I've ever seen. That's rare on YT.

Well handled Fonzie, classy. It says a lot about the confidence you have in your product and company.

It would be an outstanding move to invite this guy and his truck to show him how its done the right way. Very genius reaction tho!
@@CM_84 he did invite him in this video tho, Fonzie even said to train him for free!

Hey,
I am 72 and when I started my business I was bashed too.
You need to thank the jerk for bashing your product .
Look at all the free ads that you got!
The more people talk about your product, good or bad, you get more popular and others will go see what you have.
I don't really care about plastidip or anything else, stumbled onto this video as I was looking for a way to cheaply paint my bike without taking it to pieces and I have to say, from just your response to this guys video, I think you are one of the best human beings on this platform and I'm subbing for no other reason than to support that. If your product is 10% as good as your ability to calmly respond to criticism like this, you have a stellar product.
I realize this video is a year+ old now, but, I had to comment. This is my far the classiest response to misinformation & bashing of a product that I've ever personally seen. This video also made me subscribe to the channel, which is something I also rarely do. Fonzie - keep up the amazing content and stay classy!
Maybe dipyourcar should make a tutorial video on how to use plastidip.........oh wait.
Yeah, they did a ton of it.....

Watching them peel the plasti dip was so satisfying
Yesss my favorite part of the video ☺️
Watching you peel off your clothes will be satisfying
I’m right there. Would love to pop on headphones and zen out while I peel.
Jon some of it is wrap though... look at 2:49 why would the “dip” be red but black on the under side.... dip doesn’t change colors on the adhesive side it stays one color both top and bottom. A few of those short clips are wrap and some are dip
And yes I understand that the black part could be a primer coat but primer isn’t gloss.. it’s kind of a no brainer. Your common sense is smoking crack if you believe that all of these are dip
Your dead pan stare is what makes this video 😂
My plasti dip lasted on my wheels in -40 North Dakota weather, its been on my car through montana winter with zero issues. If you put it on correct, read the directions, it works like it should.
how long did it last for you?
@@usuhbi it lasted a good 2 years before I peeled it, well worth the time spent
Hello, can you please let me know what you do when it comes to a tyre change? Does the plasti dip tear? And is there anything you can do to protect them from this happening? I've just ordered my first lot 😁😍
I LOVE THE WAY YOU HANDLED THIS! DipYourCar is one of my favorite CZcams channels and there is no better place to get plasti dip knowledge and info.
The professionalism and integrity shown here speaks volumes for his product and company! I’ve never actually tried to dip my car (I just thoroughly enjoy watching all the cool things he does with color mixing and effects), but from this video alone I have complete faith and confidence in the quality, care, and honesty of his company and products! As a single woman dealing with a car/product industry that is known to exploit my lack of knowledge and experience, I would not hesitate to do business with him!
LOL, I love the look on your face when something wrong is said.... so funny, I've used PlastiDip, its awesome.
I died loooooooool...i just sent the link to a friend saying "watch this video, it is so hilarious" lol
The montage had me dying and then the looks LOL
I've been using plastic dip for at least a decade and love it just learning from you to improve. I really appreciate that you try to educate instead of miss informing like many youtubers do.
I've been thinking about dipping the bumpers on my truck and a few other things to get rid of the chrome. Been on the fence for a while about it. After watching this video here, I am about to leave the house to go buy a case. Partially because I think it will look good, but mostly now because I want to support this guys business. After watching how clear, calm, and respectful he was toward someone that obviously had no issues insulting his company I want to support his business. Kudos sir, and I hope your company makes all the money.
Let's be honest.... the only reason Fonzz started this is because he was hiding his car from the cops. "Its a red car.... no, blue....no, green.... no, black...."
Hot cars are always a problem.
Can you layer colors and peel off one at a time? Asking for a friend.
lol, reminds me of the beginning of CannonBall Run 2.
fryloc359 I wonder if anyone has actually tried that before lol...
@@fryloc359 no, I think the color layers would bond
Don’t worry Fonz I’ll always be a supporter of dip. It’s a shame people are so uneducated about products before using them and then jump to conclusions about its quality when the product doesn’t turn out how they perceived.
I posted a link to this video on the suspect video and the channel mod basically admitted they didn’t know what they were doing...
Morons will be Morons.
entitled kids vs street smarts, meet the pros lil man, great vid,
This was one of the best videos I have seen in awhile. Clearly he did NOT follow SIMPLE directions that explains it all honestly. The way you handled the situation and presented how you would even train the guy for FREE Wow . That is true Quality Character right there and had to be acknowledged.
I know this is an old video but I appreciated it. I tried to dip parts of my car before without really knowing how. I sprayed them like I would with regular spray paint and it did not turn out good at all. I was very turned off from Plasti dip from there on. But I actually started watching your videos and learned to do it the RIGHT way and now I absolutely love it. I have done emblems and parts for friends and just other stuff for around the house. Not just car stuff. You're very right about this, learn how to use the product properly before you judge. One day i'll be brave enough to dip an entire car haha.
You handled that better than most. That shows you have the knowledge and confidence of the product and I have the utmost respect for that. 👍🏽
This video is why I subscribed to this channel and have used the product. Professional attitude.
forget this dude, are we gonna see the collaboration video with Donut Media ?
truuuuuu they need to re-do that low car 350z spray job
Yeah they messed that up, but atleast they were upfront about it. They Even showed how good plastidip can look, if done correctly.
they actually released it on facebook last week
Donut media are bad ass
Came out today
This is a very professional and respectful response. Thank you for being a good example.
I dipped my Audi’s rims black. Took time with it and applied coats as needed. 4 years later today, I peeled it off and all came off smooth as butter. People like this are scummy and think they know everything, keep up the good work, sure as hell buying more goods from you guys!
Elliot Rodger I’ve had years of use off the diffuser looking part of a rear bumper I had on a 2011 Si, peeled flawless as well. Still looked nice when it was peeled.
plasti dip gets a bad reputation because is CHEAP, simple as that. Its a cheap way for cheapstakes to mod their wheels and cars rather than spend money for the quality stuff like spray paint, powder coating, new wheels, vinyls, etc. To each its own, some people don't like the cheap look of plastidip.
@@naegleriafowleri2230 it doesn't look or function cheaply if done correctly, that was the point of the video and it went over ur 1 dimensional anime head.
Regular Old Plumbus that's my point even if done by pro it still looks cheap. People know what Plasti dip looks like and how affordable it is. A good alternative for people who are broke or are cheapskates but some people rather use better quality stuff even if is more expensive
@@naegleriafowleri2230 I've seen it in person it doesn't look cheap it looks like matte paint that's clean ur just trash at putting it on it car
I've seen it done wrong, yes it is a pain. When it's done right it is a remarkable product!
I'm very impressed on how you handled this, I have always been interested in trying to use plastic dip but was too scared to mess it up. Seeing how well you talked about this process and the how to was so informative Im going to try and do a small project and see how it comes out.
The fact that you handle this like a true professional speaks volumes. I always watched the videos here and there but I’m definitely subscribing
Yo the fact that you said you would train him and do a collaboration is so awesome. You are one stand up dude this is why I follow your channel. 👍🏽
Much respect to you Fonzie. Not slanging him off shows your professionalism. I am a DIY'er in the UK. If I have a problem with the finish, I know its me not the product. Just because this guy wants to promote his business doesn't mean he knows what he is doing. Keep up the great vids..
Any news on those vandals by the way?
I appreciate the professionalism that Fonzie took on regards to the bad misrepresentation this guy did. As a business owner you do everything in your power to have the best reputation and for someone to mislead new customers is something that I wouldn’t take lightly.
Fonzie, you're the man. Love how much class you have handling the conversation.
im not a huge fan of plasti dip myself but i love the videos and seeing how good you make it look on a car and the color combinations.. its very pleasing to the eye. the "how to" videos you put out are damn near perfect.
Man you’re super mature I’m glad I watched this, can’t wait till my nardo grey arrives on Friday
I did a full colour change on my car about 10-12 years ago when your website first started gaining traction and while I will admit it does not replace or pretend to replace oem paint, it did a good job at changing my vehicles colour in a respectable way. I had a perfect finish first try and it was extremely easy to apply. Coming from an autobody background, this product is an extremely easy solution for temporary colour changes and to cover up mixmatched panels. Great job guys!
I want to spray my car but I don't know what I'm doing lol
I love plastidip and I’ve never even used it 😂😂
+1
Me too! Except i use it for costumes. Plastidip is awesome for everything 😁
Regardless of the fact the guy clearly applied the product incorrectly (I think that was done in purpose honestly) you took the high road. That sir is what we need more of not only in business but in the world. Well done video and you've got a subscriber fo life!
I like how you handled this situation. 💪
love your attitude man. I watched his video and have not watched another one since. They have a lot of misinformation. keep doing what your doing
Hi
I have been watching your videos for a while and every time i get amazed by the final product and most importantly by your knowledge and generous sharing on the products and the tricks of the trade with the watcher
But today the way you have professionally handled this topic was on another level

Very calm and respectful response, Fonzie. You have a great product that I've used on two of my cars (one an Aston) so keep the faith and keep up the hard work
No questions, just very admiring of your respectful, but definitive rebuttal. You could easily have gone in another direction. Love your content! Congratulations on launching and supporting your business!

Of course he will defend plastidip is his whole business and living lmao plastidip has its pros and cons. It looks good for small stuff, but it never really goods in a whole car in person. You can tell straight off the bat that is plastidip which is considered cheap to vinyl and paint. It doesn't look good in wheels either. The wheel area is always hot and plasti dip will not last that long there. Overall, is a product that has been overhyped and defended by people who are cheap and don't want to spend the big bucks for the legit quality stuff like spray paint, new wheels, powder coating, vinyl, etc. Good to have options for people with less money but to claim that plasti dip is this product that can compete with the other ones is ridiculous.
@@naegleriafowleri2230 ^^^ bet he didn't watch the video and he drank the koolaid.
I've been using plasti dip for years and love it. I dipped my car last year and it still is holding up great! All this guy had to do was watch a tutorial like the rest of us and he would've been fine. The faces you made in this video were halarious btw.
Well done man! I saw this video *immediately after* doing my truck and have no regrets whatsoever in the product and how well it looks.
I have never heard of plasidiping your car but i'm glad I ran across your video. I'll be looking at this further for my Liberty.
This is like the verge's pc build. Terrible misinformation by a guy without the knowledge.

I gotta say, great video! Ive only used plasti dip a couple tines with good results, but...ive watched your videos from time to time and you are a master of your craft. I learn something new everytime i watch your videos and i love the unique look a plasti dip gives your car. Keep doing what you're doing Fonz!
Great job on protecting your reputation! To the point, polite, calm and rational and therefore right in all points! Have just seen the first video of your company and work. I will start soon
Damn Fonz, that was so professional the way you handled that, well done, I like your style man 😎👍
First of all, he says "MOD"
That says it all right there...
Coming across this video quite a while after it was made, but wanted to give super props to you for keeping it respectful and factual. Makes me want to support your company. Thumbs up.
I seen all their videos im actually a big fan bc I'm a truck guy , but you're right there's definitely a learning curve on using plastic dip i just put in a order and waiting for my kit looking forward to applying what you teach on your videos fonzi .
Hi. I am a female from England who likes to pimp her car a little. i used plasti dip on my badges around 8 months ago. i have never done this on a car before so was a little nervous but i followed the instructions and it turned out great. i have just had a new car and decided to have a go at my own wheels. i checked out your video's and I did come across the video that you are referring to. to be honest it did worry me a little so i am pleased that you have responded as you have put my mind at rest and i now intend to go ahead and have a go at my alloys. wish me luck Guys:)
Good luck!
I know this is super old, but how did your wheels turn out?
Cuddos to you Fonzie.....done with full of class....well done!!!
I've been contemplating dipping my car, then I saw a car parked at work that was dipped - I loved it, I'm sold on dipping. Looking forward to it as soon as I finish the bodywork repairs.
Just ordered mine this weekend. Cant wait to start. Going through all the tutorial videos. Want to do this right
Clearly he was trying to hype up his own company and whatever product they sell while trying to dissuade potential customers from dipping. It’s so sad to see people behave this way. Luckily dippers know the truth! I like how you took the high road fonzi
They sell wheels, they're logic is to just buy multiple wheels rather than just changing the color and look with plastidip.
It was a satirical video about the top 5 mods that they regretted to their vehicles. Y'all need to calm your tits.

Class act! It’s easy to bash someone on social media, not as easy to calmly break it down on why another person is wrong. The fact that you offered to send him product to do it correctly AND invited him to come down and learn the right way to do it speaks volumes. The fact that this is 3 years later you probably won’t see this comment especially with how many you get on new videos but I still have to ask, did he ever take you up on the offer? I’m betting not because he doesn’t want to be wrong in his opinion.
Firstly i very rarely subscribe to channels, but dyc is my subscription number 4 added, this response was so controlled and so respectful (to lets face it, a non-informed super moron, clearly struggling with enough brainpower to mutitask breathing and anything else) this is how business should be done, very well done sir.
Awesome product, great entertaining and informative channel and thoroughly decent guy. Keep it up, now waiting for my first notification
Fonzie you were very fair in you opinion I hope the guy takes you up on your offer and ends with a positive experience for all
Don’t worry, bro. We are doing our best to counter act misinformation. I just discovered plasti-dip, and it worked stunningly well on my car emblems, tail pipes, and exterior plastic. I’ve been singing it’s praises to a dozen people this week. Now I’m just looking for things to dip. ‘To a man with a hammer, everything looks like a nail’.
I applaud you! I love my car but am not spraying my car however I am watching a whole bunch of videos before I dip small items! I really appreciated this one so much that I’m a subscriber! Thank you!!
You’re right. I watched a bunch of videos from many people using Plasti dip. I tried it and it took me a little to get it right. You need to practice. Practice makes perfect. Your look between the bad videos is priceless. Keep being respectful. You win. Enough said.
Smh!. Wow 😂 i remember your garage videos fonzz, it inspired me to dip my ride! Came out legit i followed your instructions to the t and it came out perfect!!! #dipyourcarforlife.

I've used plasti dip. And thanks to the videos at Dip your car, I love it. I've made my 2012 dodge charger look different all time time. Fonzie keep up the good work!
4 years on, this is the BEST and most respectful response video out there. You rock Fonzi.
I’m not a pro. No experience in dipping. Only reason I bought them is because this store in a mall in Toronto is selling them really cheap. Probably old stock. So I bought boxes of it. Used it on rims, hoods, badges and emblems, Tried to do a whole car but got too lazy. I did the roof, trunk, hood and decided I’m just too lazy. Peeled it off without any problems. No damage on my paint. I have a thing about rims and I have a lot. Most of them dipped. I even have one that’s been on there since 20015. It’s 2019 now and I pressure wash it, clean it etc... never had any issues. All this from plasti dip cans that are probably old stock. Still works fine. Some of them stored in my shed, most in the basement. Used the ones on the shed for a friends beat up car thinking it’s not going to come out good because it’s been sitting there winter spring summer and fall. Thought it’s probably ruined. But was surprised it still came out good. Just a bunch of guys with no experience goofing around. Just saying. Peace.
Much respect Fonzie.
Haha I love this video. Your expressions are great. I haven't even dipped a car yet and I could see what he was doing wrong after watching all your videos(which are great and very helpful). Just bought my first dyc dip kits for both full vehicle and wheels. Can't wait to try it out for myself. Keep up the great work 👍👍👌
I love your response! What a classy way of doing it! This is why people will come to your company over others!
I love the calming music montages of doing what “can’t be done” with plastidip.
I've used Plasti dip for several years and it's a amazing product.... The trick to Plasti dip is applying it correctly and applying at least 4 coats. Follow this and it will peel right off. I blacked out my BMW motorcycle and rims and it looks amazing. I didn't like the color on my rims so I simply peeled it off and applied a different color. I ride my motorcycle in all weather and I don't know what this guy is talking about saying you can't wash any dirt off of it. I've never had that problem
I helpped someone with a white base pearl dip, he tried to do it like the guy Fonz is talking about. I told him you need to treat it like a good roller brush, make it heavy. Did two coats base, and two coats pearl. He was able to clean his dip and evetually remove it no problem.
People need to know how to apply dip(and paints) right to make it look good and work as intended.
It’s funny I just happened upon this video looking through all your videos cuz my buddy and I are going to purchase your kits for our rides for our company... this basically sold me on the confidence level we will have doing it ourselves... 🤙🏻 keep it up man

Enough respect to you fonzi for being a professional and a decent guy most people out there would of roasted him for a bad review, but you did it in such a way that shows you do care about your product and even more importantly your customers as obviously he was one at some point
Hi Fonzi, don't normally comment but you have been grinding hard ever since you launched your business.
In the beginning the product might not have been the best but I have seen you improved and refine it over the years.
Props to you for putting the grind in.
Lastly, super classy for offering that guy a free tutorial on how to dip his car.
Keep doing what you're doing! Peace out
I've actually heard of spray on peel-able coatings and with all the horror stories came here totally skeptical. After watching your videos over the past months I am actually looking to get the product. So basically you converted me from a skeptic to a still slightly skeptical but very willing to try.
One thing I will say is having worked in a auto body shop proper technique is imperative to every product. I see cars and trucks these days where someone sprayed the bumper themselves or tried to paint a single panel. Worst are the ones who do a total respray without knowing what they are doing. I remember a pickup owner who replaced the fender and door but didn't mix the paint and hardener enough. Some of the paint remained soft and malleable so when we had to fix the problem we had to take the panels back to bare metal. All methods can go wrong if not done properly.
As for how you handled this Fonzie. Bravo. Great job because you made it entertaining, explained the issues and even reached out offering to teach him how to do it right. All this without shaming or making fun of him.
Edit:Typo
Idc what anyone said I use it for all kinds of things..Its new rims ,grill, badges in a can.. it does all kinds of surfaces..Ive taken it off and change color..The truck on my channel has it all over...I will continue to buy Plasti Dip!!!
Classy video for sure. Simple proof this stuff works. I’ve messed it up and done it too thin but I never once bashed it because I watch your stuff and know I did it wrong. 👍👍
Love it. Honorable and professional. Thumbs up bro. You got my respect from day 1
Keeping it classy Fonzie, keeping it classy.

I remember my first time using plastidip as a complete beginner and everything came out perfect it looked so good on my car and wheels.
Good job! Not everyone needs to be addressed. But this was worth it! watching the videos was super helpful to my install 👍🏽
Subscribing just because of this video. Excellent delivery in all aspects from humor, to education, and mixed with respect. props
All I know is my headliner in my Pontiac G8 had the cloth falling off so I pulled off, cleaned it up and plasti dipped in in black and man for me its killer and way cheaper than putting cloth back on it. You should make vids on how to plasti dip headliners.
I hadn't even thought of that - great idea ! I'd have thought it would be hard to do though - how did you get on with it?
You are so right with what you say 👍👍👍👍👍
You have a lot of class. Be proud. I also learned a lot about your product, as I have been watching your videos as of late. I did not realize this was designed to be removable. I was considering trying it on my motorcycle, but now I think this might not be the right product for me, or at least not this particular motorcycle.
Your vids and tutorials def convinced me to get a kit from your site (purchased yesterday). I'm a complete noob when it comes to cars and never knew the options of what products to use to change my wheel color. There's def. many many people out their that don't have a clue what plasti dip is and there's a lot of misinformed people. Not only the stigma of plasti dip being a poor product, but the lazy cheap man's route as well. Clearly, this is not the case. It's also impressive to see you not be consumed by your circle and realize what the community at large still generally thinks about plasti dip. I am now an advocate of plasti dip! Thank you!
I used dip before love it and done a bunch of DIY myself wish CZcams would let us post picture comments
