How to Build an LED Billboard from Start to Finish

- This was one of the most fun construction projects that we've done yet - building two LED billboards/signs from scratch! Follow along with us as we got city approval, designed the LED signs and structural components, poured the footings, fabricated the steel, lifted them into place with cranes, bored in the conduit, wired them up, and connected the fiber optics.

Where did you get the LED panels?
What is the size of the main pipe for the post? And what is your dimensions of the digital display?

Don't suppose you'd disclose how much that cost. I'm going to guess close to a million, depending on your location. I'm also curious as to the projected return on investment.
The actual LED panels and cabinets are in the 75-100k range (thats their cost not consumer) Depending on fidelity , refresh rate Etc.

@@yohanathandowns9057 As a business owner, I've done things with my product line that I never expected to make any profit on. I could afford to do it, and I wanted to. If you're the owner of a company, it's not always about squeezing the last nickle of profit out. You want to enjoy what you're doing. At the end of the day, that's what's important.
You'll notice, no answer to the question as asked. More specifically, "how much did THIS sign cost you? We know cost will vary based on location, etc, but what did THIS one cost for THIS location?"...

Wow the individal sonatube is kinda more layout but u used alot more concrete in the end their gorgeous billboards and you can rent them out for good money from sounds of the traffic billboard use to be a big deal 30- 50 years ago now alot of them are gone I remember 10to 15 of them going down the short stretch of 291 in west mass now I think their might be 5or 6

This is so cool! I've driven by that sign on I-35E!
i've watch a few billboards erected from start to finish..They were known as Selby poles, named after the Manufacture..Two sided, 120 footers..the crew made it look easy..
What are the dimensions of the led screens and how long is the pole above ground and under
I thought clear channel had a monopoly on these or something! I want to build my own too.

If you take a pump up sprayer and spray that wood down with diesel it'll come off of their so much easier

You can do amber alerts and rent your sign as big of investment it was a 12x20 piece of proberty that you can rent for big money and never need to have people step foot on

I might be wrong I was tought the more moisture and slower concrete dries the stronger and that is what I was told doing bridges so I will not argue but we use to go spray cement every day for Day or 2 after poor to make it super hard
I think that's to keep cracks from forming by slowing down the cure at the surface. It's not adding moisture much below it, obviously.
Why can't cell phone manufacturers make the screen from the sane material on these billboards??? The major problem of current phones is that they're impossible to see clearly in bright light...
Cost, thickness of screen, and probably most importantly, charge life.
Many LED signs are made with a mother board in gel encased in a plastic frame with a plastic louver around the LEDs. The allusion is that it is one smooth panel. Much like a Light bright toy, it looks great far away but not up close. The LEDs used are the same size as Christmas lights and you don’t want to touch them or you will mess up the display.💕♥️❤️
