    If you want to listen to Changbin rap more you should check out “mirror mirror” by Milli and F.Hero ft. Changbin. milli is only 19 and she and f.hero are both Thai artists. It’s an insane song and changbins rap there is like 11.9 sps which is insane

    Genuinely laughed when you said "you bitch" when Changbin's verse started on Easy 😂 He is quite an amazing artist... they all are. It's remarkable they're also responsible for so much of the music creation as well; makes them that much more impressive.
    I enjoy watching your reactions. I like the take you have on the different styles of music they put out. I look forward to the next one. My recommendation would be to listen to some of their solo stuff... Changbins Streetlight, or his collab with Milli + F.Hero in Mirror Mirror, Han's I Got It, or really and of their SKZ record or SKZ player items. They're great.

    Bang Chan + Hyunjin -> song *Red Lights*
    Changbin + Lee Know + Felix -> song *Surfin'*
    Han + Seungmin + I.N -> song *Gone Away*
    Basically 3racha got divided and the units had to make a song. They decided on the genres and everything themlselves. With 3racha members supporting each unit. Fully recommend reacting to the other 2 unit songs so you can see how totally different things they made.

  • @OEquiano
    @OEquiano Před 2 lety +5

    District 9 (the movie) is indeed awesome. I've always assumed that Stray Kids' District 9 debut had to do not with the movie but with the (then) nine members introducing themselves and their work, basically saying this is us. Now of course they are eight (the ninth left for personal reasons) but that doesn't make it any less of an incredible song. Changbin is also a mighty fine singer. I think you'll like his solo STREETLIGHT czcams.com/video/_oCptmj2gIQ/video.html a song expressing his feelings during the pandemic's first months. It is very moving and speaks to many fans. The music video references the Blue Tree Project which raises awareness around mental wellbeing ("It's okay to have a blue day"). This theme pops up often in SKZ songs and is openly discussed between Stray Kids and STAY. The official STREETLIGHT MV does not have English subtitles but a good translation is here czcams.com/video/jc7P23nuIds/video.html

    Anothe AMAZING songs without music video is *Silent Cry* . Fully recommended, that song is gem. BUT, make sure to react to *Secret Secret* (preferably first), too. Those two songs complement each other, they talk about the same thing from from opposite perspectives.
    Secret Secret is written by Han, he talks openly about his anxiety.
    Silent Cry is (theory by stays) an answer to Secret Secret, composed by Chan.

All the songs are so different from each other, yet the use of autotune in all of them is so smart and enhancing and adds such a wonderful identity to the song. Thanks for your reaction!! For more changbin's rap you should definitely check out mirror mirror where he's a feature with milli and f.hero! His rap is badass in there!! Also I wish you'd check out there live performance in one take performances of scars and slump. Thank you for your reactions!!

  • @jadefrog
    @jadefrog Před 2 lety +7

    Hyunjin's Studio Choom AOTM is great, I've seen a bunch of reactions to it, maybe reverse the image or reduce opacity, that seems to be enough, and I think I've seen some where they didn't even do that, but those might have been reactors with fewer viewers.
    I'll add my vote for Mirror Mirror by F Hero and Milli featuring Changbin. Also Han's I Got It, Changbin's Cypher, 3Racha's Matroyshyka (I always spell that one wrong, but there is at least one y in it....). For more Skz in the vein of Levanter and Lonely Street, check out the First Take series--Slump, Scars and Mixtape: Oh, recorded in one take live at a studio in Japan that specializes in that.
    Levanter the word means a strong Mediterranean wind. That video is the first one they released after their 9th member left for personal reasons. I can't help feeling that the sense of loss and grieving in both the song and video are partly related to the loss of that member. One thing I like about Stray Kids is their emotional range, and that they can express the "softer" feelings like loss, sadness, loneliness, without going all goopy, sentimental and cliche. Even when they talk about love or desire, they let it be complex and uncomfortable. Mostly they have a specificity, roughness, and emotional rawness, that makes you think they are writing and singing from experience.
    If you are interested in dance practices, the Levanter dance choreo is absolutely beautiful. So is the Side Effects choreo. If you want to see yet another side to Skz, the goofy side carefree side, check out OT8 Get Cool, and unit songs Surfin' and Up All Night. They have several more of the goofy ones from 9 member days, as well.

    Levanter was an extremely emotional songs for Stays since it was their first comeback after losing a member. I feel like every Stay interprets the song and lyrics differently, but to me it seems as if they´re saying goodbye to the old Stray Kids and are ready to find who they are and what their sound is, and hell, they really succeeded considering their comeback after Levanter was God´s Menu which basically made them into who they are today.

  • @RM_formerlyjustRMbutYTsucks

    No relation between the movie and SKZ's District 9, as you figured out. Their D9 is the district the nine of them set up as their personal safe zone away from the mainstream (the institution/manufactured environment/whatever they escaped from) and the demands on them to conform -- it's their space outside the established system. Their district is still something they refer to on occasion as the place where all stray kids everywhere all around the world (this song is the origin of that phrase) are welcome to share the outsiders' space with Stray Kids. They tend to just refer to it as things like "our district" now, as opposed to District 9, since it was named D9 specifically because there were nine of them, and obviously now there aren't.
    Fwiw, it also turned out that their D9 wasn't quite the little utopian zone their teenage selves imagined, sustainable outside the mainstream, where they could simply hunker down and be themselves and everything would be perfect, with no outside challenges and no growth or movement beyond the boundaries needed. That's somewhat related to lore, but it's also the underlying theme of their discography and its evolution throughout every era/trilogy, so it's way more significant than just a video lore thing; it's the core of their musical journey over the last 4+ years.
    It's also worth mention that Chan, Binnie, and Han were 20, 18, and 17 when they wrote and released D9. Two teenage rappers came out swinging from day one. (With another two teenage rappers opening the song and setting the stage, Lee Know at 19 and Hyunjin at 17.) This is an insultingly good debut song. It's also the first song that really kicked their haters into high gear, as it's unabashed about being "noise music."

    Indeed, I agree with what you said about auto-tune. I don't like how artist use it nowadays, I always hated it until I saw how Stray Kids introduce it in their songs. They just use it to add a cool effect in the song, I mean they don't have the need to show they can sing, cause we know they can. Another song where they use auto-tune is We Go (3 racha song). It doesn't have an mv, but I recommend it a lot.
    You should definitely react to Hyunjin's Artist of the Month video, there you will be able to see why he is part of the dance unit.
    I also recommend Scars (Japanese song) or Winter Falls if you want calm songs, and I also recommend Victory Song and TOP (Japanese song they made for an anime opening), amazing. Levanter!!! Omg, yes, it's super deep. The song's key inspiration is taken from (from what I've seen) the Latin word "levante," which refers to the eastern direction of the rising sun. Really meaningful, especially when connected with their other songs (see: the "I am" trilogy). Levanter is sort of a "we're letting go and moving on" song (to me, at least). I could talk about the meanings behind skz's earlier releases for hours, but I don't want to dump. I really enjoyed this, especially you including Levanter - I haven't seen many reactors approach it.

    You're right, District 9 is their debut song.
    Levanter is another really cool one, they also have an english version, but I think the original is way better.
    Yeah, Red Lights is really good. We were all screwed the moment we first heard it. Chan's low voice is also really good, they all sound really good when they use their lower register. If you haven't seen any clips, try seeing if you can find the OT8 Red Light's performance. It's really cool to hear them doing that genre together. Just the entire NOEASY album is really good(it's my favorite album so far), so I definetly recommend listening to the other songs in the album.
    It doesn't seem like a debut track, it really doesn't. They did such a good job with District 9, they came out of the gate with incredible energy, and they have easily maintained that amazing quality of music with every song they've put out since. Yeah that hyunjin AOTM is phenomenal, also he has another choreography that he actually made himself in which he is dancing to "play with fire". Both are so good.
    Also please react to Han's songs especially " I got it " since he is my bias. ☹️

    I love your reactions and really respect your opinions!! Subscribing rn lol😙 I was similar to you with District 9: I had known stray kids for about 2 months and finally decided to listen to their debut song. Let’s just say I was PLEASANTLY surprised. It’s so good.
    If I could recommend a few:
    Charmer, Muddy Water, TA, and ALL IN are good hip hop-pop songs.
    Domino and Cheese are also fairly hip hop with some rock elements(I LOVE these with my whole heart).
    Surfin’, Haven, Get Cool, and Awkward Silence are good if you want an upbeat happy song.
    Based on your reactions I’ve seen, you might enjoy:
    Awaken
    My Pace
    Victory Song
    Cheese (I think I saw a comment saying you were going to do this in the next one, so if you do, try to see what the lyrics mean)👀

    Edited: This is one of their pre-debut tracks by the way.

    If you like district 9 MV, you must try their district 9 LIVE performance. I recommend this one below which is their JAPAN 'Hi-STAY'concert ,and they perform in OT8.
    Hi-STAY JAPAN District 9
    czcams.com/video/yTlTnSpemr0/video.html
    (they upload other performance in Stray Kids Japan CZcams Channel, but this one we dont have official one)
    In fact, many LIVE performances in 'Hi-STAY' is incredibly awesome, both their conditions and video quality.
    I really enjoyed your reactions in every Straykids videos, thanks so much for your reaction.
