Wow, love that skylight, it lets so much light in and its soooo huge!.😊
Love you 💕👍
Brilliant Video Mel. 👍 Some nice important 'pointers' especially the removing of the manufacturing silicone release spray. 👌
Thank you glad you enjoyed the video 👍🤓👍
Hi Mel couldn’t agree more about the mastic sealing strip. I used it when I put my fan in the roof of my camper on your advice and it’s never leaked. Brilliant video as always and great to see your build coming on a treat 👍🏻
Thank you glad it helped you out 👍👊
well, you made that look easy! 😮
"Dragon fly" ? A graceful and delicate creature! I'd have gone for Herman (the German) meself Mel.
The Dragonfly symbolizes transformation and self-realization. The Dragonfly represents creative imagination and the insight of clear vision. The Dragonfly means “good luck.” As Jeweler Keith Jack reminds us, “The Dragonfly reminds us to live life to the fullest.”
I put too much as I triple layed mine 😂 looking good 😊great skylight with give you such beautiful starry nights 💙
Oh thank you buddy 👍🤓👍
That's a big skylight! It makes the wee popup vent I put in my camper van seem like a tuna tin! 😂 Cheers for another great video you two!! I got my wife to start watching your videos with me! I said to her see Mel gets quite a bit of help from Becky, it would be nice if I had a bit of help! My wife said "You're not going to get Becky to fly to American to help you with YOUR van!" 🤣🤣 Oh well it was worth a try! 😆
Haha I’m sure Becky would be tempted 😂👍
Good night becca and Mel I love watching your videos of you and your building your new I love you all and everyone i hope you are all well and enjoying your build on your new campervan please keep up the good work up on your videos on your you tube channel
Thank you! You too!💕👍
Great video mel...i just hope the rain wont keep you awake...cant wait to see the shower
Yeah I’m a little worried about that too 👍
Totally agree regarding the mastic sealing strip, I've fitted two maxxfans and done exactly the same routine with the indentations. 👍 except for the dabs on the screw heads there's no UP adhesive used.
Looking good 👍
Thanks 👍
Wowzers, what a beast of a skylight Mel. Expertly fitted by your good self. I'm glad the contents weren't broken and it was just a couple of loose brackets. Great job and nice to see you and Becky working together as a team again. As always, much respect to you both🙏- Kenny
Thanks 👍
Great stuff as always Mel,
Thank you! Cheers buddy
Blimey, tis huge!!! It really does look like it will let in so much lovely natural light! Perhaps enhance some star gazing too.
It is so nice to see you both working on your conversion. Feel like we are on a journey with you 😅
Thank you for coming along with us 👍🤓👍
im in the process of a camper conversion to do the exact same. Uk first and then Europe , so uncover lost history for all to see. good look with the adventure
That’s brilliant well done 👍 🤓👍
nice one keep you mind on the job
Thanks, will do!
Phew thats a bigun, you can get food deliverys by drone strait to the table.
Haha now that would be good 😂👍
Thank you Mel great video I’m just about to go away to Cirencester after spending 6 months converting my little transit, outside in all weathers . Your really lucky with the chicken shed it’s hard work, but it’s something to do in it Mel well done and good luck 👍👍👍🏴🏴🇬🇧🇨🇦🦢
Oh Cirencester just down the road from us it’s a lovely place to enjoy have a great time 👍
Ive learnt something today,it's like bluetac but better lol.Great vid as ever
Hay buddy 👍🤓👍💕
Personally I would have put the opening facing the rear, that way the wind would naturally keep the skylight closed when moving if you accidentally forgot to close it. The number of ripped off skylights I have seen is quite worrying. That said Mel, it looks really nice and a fantastic finish 👍
It is🤔
The opening IS facing the rear.
Great minds..... I couldn't tell from the vid..... 😀
Thanks for the great advice I really appreciate that
Mell still got all 10 fingers? That jig saw was a bit close fancy NOT having the ladder held when going up with sky light if you fell what would have happened to the sky light dred to think the air may be BLUE and for letting the roof cut out just fall shame on you NO gloves with all the sharp edges you always said long time ago keep it simple KEEP it SAFE come on mall we do not want to see an accident not at your age just step back and think ❤❤❤
Great video, although i did have visions of you loosing a finger when using the jigsaw
Oh no! lol
I would have taken a hammer and a mallet to flatten out the bits that are not level, even if it’s just 1” around it gives the mastic a more level playing field.i don’t like valleys when I comes to sealing on a roof , it’s a potential for water to collect and you know about water always finds a way.
Yeah good luck with that all you’re going is creating creases as the metal will fold
Nice video, thanks Mel
Rickard from Sweden 🚐🇸🇪🎸
Glad you enjoyed it
That will be great for star gazing on the road Mel , are you going to fit a bug screen and black-out screen on the inside ?
It comes already fitted inside the internal frame ❤
Mel the other week you mentioned converting a fridge power did i miss it as can't find it
Regards Tony
Hi Tony no you haven’t missed it I have been experimenting with one this week video coming up soon 🤓👍
Wow that's big but got match the van .loads of light in .How's it look at night don't want keep u awake .
No worries it’s got built in screens
Looks super nice! So much light!
Thank you! Cheers!🍻
Another great video Mel. Question: In addition to the sealing trip, don't you need some waterproof caulking as a top layer as well? Thanks in advance.
No need
Great Job💟
Thanks 😄
Hi Mel, when are you doing your fridge video?
Very soon!
What a lovely helpful wife you have mel.
Yes, ☺️
Hi Mel , another informative video.....what obd scan tool should I get for my 2006 Merc van.......thanks
I use this scanner to keep my sprinter running and on the road
iCarsoft Professional Multi-System Auto Diagnostic Tool
amzn.to/3Ly6JgQ
US amzn.to/32IPAPj
Mell still got 10 fingers? That jig saw was so so keep it safe sharp edges and NO gloves what happened to the old Mell keep it simple keep it SAFE and why not tape the cut roof piece up to stop it falling or get help from some one with gloves on ?
Flattery will get you everywhere...
Fit some big chunky tyres and get some big wheels and rap it in a quirky rap it will look cool on it
I’ve just spent almost £2500 on tyres lol 😂
That's is a lot of money
Aaaand breathe, Mel!!!
Why didn't you put some mastic tap on the wooden frame to hold it in place so it would have been a one person job 😂
Oh crap why didn’t I think of that
