- We spent a day on the US-Mexico border with the US Border Patrol in El Paso, TX where the agency is overwhelmed by the volume of migrants crossing into the United States. US Border Patrol Agent Tessa Reyes escorted us to multiple areas where migrants cross the border to begin their process of requesting asylum.
The US has seen a major surge in Central American migrant families arriving in the US and requesting asylum, leaving Border Patrol agents and facilities overwhelmed. Per the Border Patrol, Business Insider was not allowed to film inside the processing center where immigrants are temporarily detained.
During a visit to the Border Patrol's training academy in Artesia, New Mexico, we sat down with Acting Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection John Sanders, who called the situation at the border "unprecedented."

I met an older gentleman, who told me he lived so close to the border line in Mexico and the US. He said, when he was a kid, he played outside with other children. He played in the US side and when it was time to go home he simply walked home to Mexico 😄
No issues ever. And that he was lucky to have been able to play on both sides ♥️
Why play on USA side. Looking for handouts? When Hispanics help you out they want something in return. Nothing is for free.

Has anyone ever looked at WHY people are coming over the border in droves to a "better life in America" . Why not create jobs in Mexico that help feed industry in the U.S. like parts manufacturing , fruit growers, etc that feed the US. and Canada with products to complete the manufacturing of autos , tractors, and other things that are finished and consumed in the US.
The original doctrine of the North America free trade agreement was a co-operation between these 3 countries to bring products to market to be consumed by the greater population in a cost effective way so that all people , consumers , and governments work and thrive with a North American marketplace idea .Each economy would thrive by feeding the 3 with products at the lowest cost to the consumer . Would this not deter China from invading our markets with cheap duplicates by educating consumers in these countries that their products that they produce help them keep jobs alive in North America? Could tariffs not be imposed to at least make the Chinese products comparable in price . I know this is a simple economic methodology but it works if all co-operate. Please comment , I would like everyone's thoughts . Don't be a hater , be a solution maker Peace and prosperity to all!

You do realize it’s people from Central America illegally crossing the border, right? Mexico tries to give those Hondurans and Salvadorans asylum but those people want to go straight to the US.
I visited texas over the summer and people there are less hostile about the situation than I thought. A huge group near the border would actually constantly leave big jugs of water and little toys for people and children crossing over. I think all humans are connected, and that will never be broken. This is a governmental and political issue that has accumulated into a big mess due to years of negligence, and its sad that we citizens are getting pulled to hate each other.

We went to Texas once, my step mom's mother took 2 kids home with her. I'd have done the same damn thing. They got to know her during the stay and cried to go home with her. She raised them and put them through school. The oldest one stayed but the youngest missed his mother terribly and she put him on a plane back to Mexico. They became family and the oldest one died at 28 years old. The youngest one flies in and loves to visit holidays. They didn't grow over 5 foot tall and I think bc of malnutrition. That boy sent his paychecks home when he was just 15 years old. 😭 RIP Nay

I have and they sleep for days, maybe work a job to get a little money and then disappear for days or weeks on drinking or drug binges. Then they come back worse than they were before you helped them begging for more money. Most homeless people in America have multiple options for help and shelters in every region of our cities yet they choose to be on the streets. These central American people have made journeys on foot of thousands of miles fleeing rape and murder perpetrated by criminal organizations US policy has helped empower to find a safe place to live and work. If the homeless of America had this determination they could be off the street today. And the Christian philosophy says we DO have a responsibility to help ALL our fellow humans.

So if an individual requests legal asylum, they have the right to due process. Only if they fail to comply with that due process can they be deported, but they still have committed no criminal acts.

Problem exists because of politically impotent Congress which includes our local representatives in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas.Many people come to our emergency rooms since the "free" medical care in their country is not addressing their problem. @G G The reason they die in border patrol custody is mostly due to them getting sick when they are crossing, and by the time they get to them it's probably already too late for treatment at a hospital to help. This is due to how "surprisingly", it isn't exactly healthy for children(or anybody for that matter) to be exposed to the elements with very little supplies. In fact, that seems to be more the fault of the parents for putting them into a very dangerous situation to begin with. Heck, in this video they said the kid died due to an infection in the frontal lobe, and the kid probably had it long enough to were it took his life by the time he was taken to the hospital.
