@@HistoryDebunkedsimonwebbThe Scottish Highlands *aren't* synonymous with Scotland, Simon? Congratulations on highlighting your illiteracy yet again in the most hilarious way possible! LOL
@@candy-le4nhCandy. Get a map of the British archipelago, turn it on its side, and imagine a time when it was easier to sail across the Irish sea in your galley than walk to Edinburgh. The Highlands and the Borders were regarded by the Scottish monarchy and the inhabitants of the Lowlands as two thundering bloody nuisances and the home of lawless cattle thieves and blackmailers. You only have to look at the actions of James VI to see he viewed the Highlanders and Islanders as something other than Scots and more akin to their Irish brethren across the sea in Ulster. You are, of course, aware that the founders of several Galloglas septs were driven from the Highlands by the Bruce as they'd backed Baliol's bid for the throne. The Highlanders spoke Gaelic, and, as Simon has alluded to, both they and the Borderers often remained Recusant Catholics, whereas the Lowlands were Prod with the biggest P you ever saw. Both the Highland and Border clans felt the full wrath of the imperialist James Stuart and his desire to turn England snd Scotland into Great Britain ( no Bob. Great as in all of the main island and nothing to do with how good he thought it was). The Borderer often found himself transplanted into Ireland, where his skill in war and his propensity for raiding were useful to the Crown in it's Plantation of the island. The Highlander became useful only when Montrose utilised the McDonalds/ MacDonalds and other Highland clans and militias against his former comrades in the army of the Scottish Government during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms ( no Bob, Wales is a principality). This war was exceptionally brutal and involved what is now described as genocide and ethnic cleansing. It's said that the Covenanter battle cry became "Jesus and no quarter" They rose for James II and his sons and were finally militarily crushed by the Hanovers. Their culture was almost destroyed by the forces of the British Government until they again became useful when soldiers were required for the British army in its European war and the global conflicts of empire building. I think I'll leave it there, but I'm sure you catch my drift.

@@GreggFellows *you're. Also, anyone can be an amateur or CZcams historian when making videos on historical themes. I've known 'experts' on mosses and early reptiles who both left school at 16 and made important contributions to these fields as amateurs. Knowledge and its communication is not just the preserve of those with degrees.
@@Clive697 as we've seen with Simon he makes bold claims and can be often wrong or ill informed, we saw with Daily Mail piece where they quoted him about a bomb going off in Northern Ireland, you know before it even existed as an entity.... anyway....back to the Faul conspiracy, brilliant stuff
@@GreggFellows True, many lettered historians rely on sources which turn out to be incorrect. Remember Oxbridge History Professor Hugh Trevor Roper - who Jharek and yourself would big-up if he happened to be around now and espousing lefty narratives - verified the Austrian Painter Diaries as authentic - until they were proven obvious forgeries. Whether the viewers are occasionally misled is irrelevant as Webb issues opinion pieces on CZcams not uni lectures (and the latter may also contain errors). The 'Paul is dead' theory is a fun one. Even Macca wonders if he's really a lookalike imposter I'm sure.

'I'm a Grimsby lass at heart.' Made me smile and think of my Uncle. He left Grimsby for Middlesex in the 70's and shudders merely at the mention of 'the North'. Sorry I'm missing the point again!
The problem with stupid people is they take *everything* literally.
As I've quoted before,
- "The further a society drifts from the truth, the more it will hate those who speak it."
God bless you Simon, and you're quite right not to engage with such individuals,
- although I will say, or should I use the word *type,* so as not to confuse the stupid people who take everything literally?,
- I find it very amusing to hear you using their, oh so colourful, and descriptive language.
I've viewed the videos in question, and had some interaction with the makers of both videos. They're nuts.

"The Mayor of London, Sadistic Khan...." would surely be the proper pronunciation. Poor London.

It's said that the Covenanter battle cry became "Jesus and no quarter"
They rose for James II and his sons and were finally militarily crushed by the Hanovers.
Their culture was almost destroyed by the forces of the British Government until they again became useful when soldiers were required for the British army in its European war and the global conflicts of empire building.
I think I'll leave it there, but I'm sure you catch my drift.

I don’t know why that Bob Wilkins criticises Simon so much. I think it’s jealousy personally! Solidarity with you always Simon, I enjoy your videos and although I very often disagree with your political position, I appreciate your contribution to the debate on the issue of important matters in our country.
I agree. I do disagree with him sometimes, but overall he is a good man who just wants to preserve his native culture.

Simon should open a merch store. Many people would love to proudly wear a History Debunked Simon Webb t-shirt. The photo behind him on this video on a t-shirt print with his name above and History Debunked on the back.
Not a bad idea. You'd have to have the friendly "hello again!" above the image of Webb. A mug with Webby's image and the legend 'his-tea debunked' that says "hello again!" as the hot water goes in is something I'd consider buying.
@@Clive697 It sounds like you could be his merch manager with these ideas. Let's get on to him, although we know the Webb Master by now and he's far too modest to launch a merch line. He can be frustrating this way.

Simon, what does the sweatshirt say in English?
I just assumed that the reference to Yusaf's "Heart is in the Highlands," was a reference to the Highlands of Tora Bora. Silly me!
