“It’s Like Rationing During War Time!” British Gas Boss Says Smart Meters Should Be FORCED

  • Talk’s Julia Hartley-Brewer is joined by author of Green Tyranny Rupert Darwall to discuss the latest calls from energy bosses.
Chris O’Shea, chief executive of British Gas owner Centrica, said households should be ‘forced’ to have a smart meter to help hit net zero targets.
There has been widespread resistance to the devices, with concerns that prices are raised during peak times.
Julia hits out at the comments, saying it is “extraordinary” that smart meters are being put forward as the answer to energy problems.
“We’re a first world country, it’s like rationing during war time,” she adds.

It's not a secret oil producing countries belonging to OPEC, could increase oil production to reduce price, but they don't want that. They get better margins for higher prices and less effort. Also the oil will last longer until inevitably runs out. They are limiting and rationing the product. That itself is a crime against humanity as many people deteriorated because of high energy prices. People were put into poverty, stress, lack of warmth in winter, anxiety, depression and finally deaths. Too many deaths. Should never happened

Chris O'Shea says smart meters will help us 'hit our 'Net-Zero' targets'.. Well that's all very well, but what can be put in place to help us hit Chris O'Shea ?..

I think you mean that was the PRETENCE of why they were brought in. They were always intended as a means of restricting/controlling the supply. They never let the real reasons for anything be known, because no-one would agree if they knew. It's the same with smart phones; they are the means by which our electronic prison camps are to be implemented. Electric cars, more control; overspent on your carbon credits? Sorry, your car won't go. Been a bit too opinionated on social media? Naughty, now your car won't go anywhere. Everything is a con. Including elections. You don’t save money having a smart meter it just gives them your usage in real time . The best way forward is for you to give your readings each month and stay in control.

So another conspiracy theory came true arh? Have anything 'smart' around you is VERY BAD IDEA! Get rid of them all!
They cannot 'enforce smart meters' on any member other member of the public from a high court ruling from years ago. Remember back a few year when gen 1 smart meter came on the market? What was the Energy providers saying? 'You have to get a smart meter, you have no choice..... it's the law' Out went the analogue dial mechanical (known to work for more than 30yr without issues) to you have get your meter change out every 10yrs (digital). Turn around a few years a group court case got kicked up to the high court & got a ruling that the government/energy providers/UN/EU/etc Didn't like one bit, they cleared up the newly put in laws (signed in law by MP Kenneth Clarke...then now lord). The clear meaning was put out to the public (final judgement)... they couldn't force you or tell you 'it's the law' to have one... you had to request one at your own peril.
If you didn't have smart meter you got a 'dumb meter' meaning they could with some effort activate that dumb meter.. into a SMART METER. They gave up..... You can get your own meters & get them installed & be use by the energy providers... perfectly legal under the same law. Then owning your meters you take away the energy providers rights of access for good.... they try it's crimal trespass....

If they start messing around wrap your meter in aluminium foil and manually report your use, they’ll never be able to remotely access your meter and you can easily remove the foil if they come to inspect the meter. This is what is currently on-line. It's a watered down version of what was there 7 years ago -
The most frequently reported symptoms as a result of exposure to smart meters were: (1) insomnia; (2) headaches; (3) tinnitus; (4) fatigue; (5) cognitive disturbances; (6) dysesthesias (abnormal sensation); and (7) dizziness. The effects of exposures on people's lives were said to be significant.
What are the physical effects of smart meters?
The radiation generated by smartmeters is the same type as generated by your cell phone- radiofrequency radiation. Peer reviewed science has found increased cancer, immune system damage, and headaches after exposures to radiofrequency radiation.

There's a little known law that snuck in that is never mentioned. It encompasses all the things your energy supplier won't tell you. The Electricity Supply Emergency Code (ESEC) has within it the The Rotational Disconnection Plan. This became UK law in 2019 and can be easily downloaded. It allows the government to cut off your supplies without your consent, any notice or reason. Smart meters are a crucial part of this plan as their main purpose is to allow a remote off switch to be fitted to you property. This feature is built into all of them and allows your individual supply to be stopped or rationed based on usage and all done remotely. This means they don't have to cut off a town causing widespread discontent of voters, they can cut you off one night and your neighbour the next night? Within this law, if they declare your meter end of life, they can force you to have a remote off switch fitted. At the same time they are trying to legislate against any other sources of heat, like wood burners.
EG. Most of the Californian fires were caused by poor maintenance of the infrastructure, branches were blowing onto badly insulated pylons and they caught fire. In response the power companies carried out rolling cut offs, using smart meters, affecting hundreds of thousands of people.
EG, in China, entire regions are cut off, factories and dorms during official holiday periods, you have to take you holiday then?
It is recognised as part of the net zero plan. Demand fluctuates wildly? It's why you see entire wind farms doing nothing on a windy day, there is no demand. Net zero demands that the wind blows and the sun shines ... at peak times. If the sun doesn't shine and the wind stops blowing at peak times ... there will be no power and it will have to be rationed, ie you will be allowed a certain number of KWh then it will switch you off, or ... just off. This is the ONLY purpose of a smart meter, to limit domestic use as per the 2019 legislation? It's important to remember that a crucial part of the net zero plan is to produce far less power for distribution, spend less on infrastructure and maintenance and, ration both electricity and gas.
The power companies are also currently lobbying government to take over completely the decision making process? I expect that people with swimming pools and Teslas will subsequently be able to pay a premium rate to maintain their supplies while the less well off won't?
Go and look it up? The legislation is already in place and law.

I was practically forced to have one ,they kept double billing me,and BG tried to fleece my deceased father out of over a grand for gas ,refused to accept it and ended up paying less than £80,do not give in if you think they are fleecing you ,shout shout and shout more, cause a fuss ,hassle them, they will back down ,especially if you go on social media ,they hate the bad publicity.

I had “ smart” meters installed by utility warehouse,a few years later I changed supplier to EDL and they stopped working! When I spoke to EDL they said my meters weren’t compatible with their system! My reply was “ well they ain’t that smart then are they “ !

Smart doesn't mean clever ,it means System Monitoring Always Recording Tracking .

We will all end up having one in the long run. Imagine agreeing to be imprisoned on your own house ? We all did.

There has been no health & safety standards for these these meters that emit high levels of radiation.

@@AntiAntiSepticUK I bought an EMF meter (Electromagnetic Field) radiation detector. The reading for the meter was 455 vm 11.41 UT. I measured all the devices in my house the microwave was the highest reading at 615 vm 12.54 ut, the mobile phone was 430 vm 4.15 ut. Everything connected to the wifi has a medium to high reading. Basically we are all being saturated with radiation.

I wouldn't worry, they don't work, I've phoned up a couple of times about it. They arranged for someone to come out to me, because I'm 80 ,they never turned up, i sat in all day, i don't bother with it now, trying to get in touch with someone is so stressful, my language is vile from sheer frustration. Just don't bother is my advice..

What do you do if you have no sense of smell! Some half-trained person messes with your gas pipes and, after they have gone, you worry for days on end because you cannot smell if there is a leak!

The more energy you save on electric the more they will put the price up to keep the share holders happy... We use to use 100 watt light bulbs and 150 watt TV's now we have more efficient bulbs (10-20w) and tv's (20-50w) yet we pay way more. There are many other things that have become more efficient like ovens, kettles and heating, washing machines, dryers etc
