It's also interesting to think about what happens when you drop the phone. With the modern phones, you generally hit the back, screen, or sides, which can impact the screen. While on the old brick-style phones, you could hit the back, front, or sides. But it was very unlikely that the screen would receive much, if any, impact.

I owned an S4, an S7 and an S10+ and i can say, that my S4 survived the best. The only damage that happened to it was a crack in the glass, but the display still worked perfectly. My S7 was similar; two cracks in the glass, but still working fine. My S10+ fell with a case and the glass cracked worse than my other two phones. It was still working at that time, but later became completely unresponsive.
My S4 was not durable in terms of software.

It's a Samsung phone which as one point was known for exploding and caught on fire . So I think oven mitts protection is probably a good idea.

The Nokia 3310 is not actually that tough, it breaks just like a normal phone. (it is a bit tougher because of thick plastic and brick design.)

Samsung released 5 versions of the S2 just in Canada alone. I think some of the other S2 models were stronger than the 9100 model shown. The 757 and 989 versions had a little different body design as well as a few internal differences.
While here on SEA region, we have the 9100G model that came with Ti-Omap chip with Power Vr gpu rather than their own exynos chip instead.
You should do this with all the iPhones! Would be pretty interesting

I've had an S8+ since August 2019 and I must say it has survive so much. I've never had any problem until last months when it fell and finally, after 1 1/2 years, the screen broke... and only a little bit in the corner

I can report from my long term testing that the s8 holds up well to light impacts for about 4 years when it shattered from falling of my bed onto a relatively soft floor, asfalt from waist height (6foot tall) also took a big chunk out of the display glass, not to bad if your careful

I had that Nokia phone and passed it on to a friend when I got a Walkman phone. My friend worked in a warehouse -- one day while he was on the catwalk for the second tier of the area where he was working, he dropped the Nokia phone -- a twelve foot drop. No visible damage and still worked well.

I was in a motorcycle accident with that same screen protector on my phone, it was virtually untouched except for a slight nick near the camera.
