Falcon 9 launches NROL-87 and Falcon 9 first stage landing

  • A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launched the NROL-87 mission for the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, on 2 February 2022, at 20:27 UTC (12:27 PST). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage (B1071) landed on Landing Zone 4 at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

    It’s incredible that it can land upright. I recently saw a video of this being transported on a gigantic trailer and the massive size of it is nothing short of astounding!

      You think that’s astounding? SpaceX super heavy booster is the same height as the falcon 9 first and second stage and they plan on CATCHING it upright using the “chopsticks” at starbase.

      @@SciNewsRo Thank you, I'm actually aware of that. The problem thing is that I do not have US citizenship, above that, I'm Syrian, and I require rigorous security check before landing such a job. Hopefully, if I get the US citizenship someday🙏🙏🙏
