Yes he was in the way, but he was also looking into his phone trying to get a picture of the horse behind him ; actually of himself with the horse. When you are concentrating behind you you're inclined to be less observant, but complaining IS a bit childish, it should be obvious that the Guards have right of way
As an Aussie living in the U.S. and a longtime appreciator of your channel, it has so surprised me that there is no crowd control at Horse Guards around those magnificent horses. It's like a free-for-all. With zero respect towards the Guards and no space given to the animals. And when the people get so thick, it's left up to the Guard to do crowd control at which point everyone looks so surprised and at times indignant! Seriously? And getting pushed by a Guard means you're in someone else's territory and not your own. Be aware people!!

I can't believe how chaotic this becomes so quickly and what the horses and guards are subjected to. Is this Preliminary Riot Training? Ridiculous and they must have deep deep liability insurance pockets. In these times, backpacks should be wanded or turned in, there should be much more crowd control and someone should be posted permanently at the front to coordinate response to tourists crowding around boxes or giving horses and guards guff.
I totally agree with you, this has got totally out of hand, it always looks like a shambles, people think they have the right to treat the guards and animals as they like. I can’t think of another country where this would be allowed. Children getting stuck by parents under the horses head just to have a photo taken, no thought for their safety. This used to be one of my favourite items to watch because I’ve been connected to the forces for most of my life in one way or another and I just love those majestic animals but it just looks like a shambles now with the box guards sadly treated abominably by the public some days.
So sad. Tourists.never remember where they are and who is in charge...SOLDIERS..wonderful SOLDIERS..❤

Sometimes it seems that we are a judgemental lot; having reached 87 I realize that I've probably done things that other people thought wrong or stupid. The public (which includes tourists , you and me) can be obnoxious. You and I have seen it and cringed; but can you honestly say that you have NEVER unwittingly done something/said something that you regretted , I know I can't. I also know that I have been judgemental; have posted judgements when parents put their kids at risk, we all have buttons that get pushed----- and that is ONE ! of mine !!!! Mea Culpa.

Hi John! There's always one or two in the crowd! I think what the trooper was doing was trying to discharge the static electricity that had somehow built up in the wool coat. Starting about 35:25, and esp at 35:29, you can see the bottom hem of the coat moving, as the trooper moves away. Brushing down the wool will help discharge it. If not done, a wool coat can get 'itchy' for the guard.
Just try taking a single picture of a beautiful government building in another country like the Middle East! You will lose your camera and face the possibility of arrest. Tourists should respect government representatives ESPECIALLY military members. The entitlement demonstrated by tourists it's unbelievable. Place sidewalk borders for their protection.

Why not add a “Do Not Touch The Horses” sign? People are totally disrespectful and these guards and horses are professionals. I don’t get it.
I think there should be barriers to stop people from getting so close to the horses. Am sure the horses, the guards, police would appreciate it
It's a public footpath in Whitehall under Westminster council not MOD any form of barrier would be potentially dangerous to horse and Trooper .

I think it is much better if those tourists must not touch the Horse too. I saw someone who touched the mouth of the horse and he put something ,then the horse got ill.😢

People don’t realize you can’t creep up on a horse from the side That is where a horse sees it’s best. Their eyes are more to the side than they look. So people are in very sight standing on the side for pictures.

London City Walks, Curious as to do all the Kings Guards live at the barracks or do they travel to and from for their daily duties to Guard ? Also One would think that those who have the Honor to actually visit and see the Kings Guards and Life Guards would be more considerate and respectful. I can't understand why people always feel the need to touch instead of observing and take their photos and not invade the Guards and Life Guard horses personal duty spaces and understand they are real soldiers and are at their job as Guards.Maybe the Guards will put in suggestions of a retaining system in place to prevent the torture they go through on the daily while doing their duties as to keep the tourists at bay to handle the space invasion and disrupting and stressing out both Guards.Thank you for the awesome video content you produce
When on duty at Horse Guards they stay there , otherwise at Hyde Park Barracks .

Married Soldiers will live with their families in Married Quarters. Which could be flats or houses depending on Rank.

People like to see things they've heard about. I grew up in England and a trip to London to ' see the sights ' was a treat. Also it's educational, Stonehenge is a fascinating place to visit, the castles, stately homes, the places where famous people lived. These are the things tourists enjoy also. To go to another country and see and learn of the famous places there is fun and, as I said educational. We complain that the tourists can't read the signs, but how many of us can go abroad and understand the signs in France, Italy or Germany ? How would we wish to be treated when WE are tourists.
