Here In America, a year or so there was a carriage horse attacked at a park in North Carolina. The horse was bit several times. Dog was unleashed Pit Bull. Horse kicked the crap out of the dog. Dog ended up not surviving. Horse was Belgian Draft Horse. Horse was okay. Had to get some stitches from facial bites to lip area.
Not long ago I watched a clip on CZcams, where an unleashed bulldog attacked two police horses while they were on duty with their riders. The dog continually bit he horses legs and they got into such a panic that the riders could barely control them. They certainly couldn’t stop the dog as the horses were jumping around trying not to get bitten. Letting a dog off the lead in a built up area, around a horse and people, is so irresponsible and stupid. Anything could go wrong.

As to your very misnamed "Soldier Swifty Response..." (do you even know the English language?), the dog was unleashed at 15:21. The soldier didn't respond at all; the man approached the soldier at 16:23. An awful lot could have happened in that minute and two seconds. The guard uttered one sentence and walked away. I have to say, though, that dog was exceedingly well-trained, to have remained seated with people milling about. I do think the guy should have been fined for taking him off the leash, though. The world is full of idiots and many of them seem to find their way to the horse guards!
Totally agree Tis, anything could have gone wrong he had no reason to unleash the dog well behaved and trained as it was just to take photos, the horses reaction could have triggered a bad outcome for the dog or the horse and even spook the horse so it was dumb. And not a SWIFT response at all it was all over when told to leash the dog.

He didn't really unleash his dog on the horse! The dog sat quietly having its picture taken, the horse was more fascinated with the dog than the dog with the horse. It was carefully edging forward sniffing and taking in the smell of something new and unusual, no freakouts no sprongs no bad behaviour.
There are few of these videos that are so heart warming. Neither animal seemed at all worried about the other, in fact all I saw was curiosity, and, it also seemed like the guard was allowing his horse the opportunity to have a wee sniff. I'm sure there were enough military personnel at the ready to jump in if necessary. Thank you.

Grapple with the dog without being injured by the horse and/or dog? Scare the dog away possibly causing the dog, the dog's owner and bystanders to run into the street and be struck by passing vehicles? What exactly do you think the military personnel could do? We have had dogs that will go into the corral for a drink because they think the horses get "special" water, altho its out of the same well. The problem? One of our horses hates dogs, worse, yet we have 2 mules who both despise dogs. A horse will kick at the dog, hitting it about 80-85% of the time. A mule will kick the dog and not miss, ours never mised. My father-in-law trained unbroke mules for the army in WW2 and said if a mule missed hitting the dog, it was because he was so old he was on his deathbed. If you love your dog, act like it. Stop putting the horses and your dog in danger. You also are putting all the people, including children, in danger because you are being selfish and just want to show off your dog. Grow up, time to put others' safety ahead of your whims.

It's mostly the owner and rarely the dog at fault - dog and handler training should be mandatory and every owner should be licensed. These videos seem to be just more evidence of overtourism which is becoming unsustainable. UK national and local governments, and the greedy tourist industry, care only about their revenues.
