I know it isn't basketball and someone has had to mention him before, but have you seen any of Deestroying videos? He has a big CZcams channel with mostly American football. His 1 on 1 videos are filled with great catches and amazing defensive plays as well. I highly recommend.

Theres a great JxmyHighroller video on the Mavericks Suns game where Luka and the Mavs blew out the Suns in game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals. Devin Booker was talking trash to Luka during the series and in game 7 Luka had the same amount of points at the half as the entire Suns starting 5 combined. It also spawned the "Luka Doncic is Devin Booker father" meme

The height of a power forward, the handle and passing ability of a point guard, unlimited shooting range, and maybe the most creative player in the NBA today. He turns 25 years old next month, so he still has like 10+ prime years ahead of him. Luka is very special.

Tellin ya lads, Luka Doncic is probably as close to Messi as you can imagine for an NBA equivalent to a footballer. He can do everything, and despite what people say about his defence, he actually does have a solid defensive game in his bag. I'm a British Mavs fan, and he would make any other team in the NBA legit title contenders. Even the Pistons. That's how good he is.
Luka started playing professional basketball in Europe at 16 and dominated, despite that, he wasn't the number 1 pick in the 2018 NBA draft, but he quickly proved the doubters wrong, ascending into a top 10 NBA player in the manner of a few years, nowadays he's still widely regarded as one of the best players in the league but his team can never seem to put enough around him to make a run for the championship.
Most 24 year olds don't have his awareness, but none of them became a pro at 15.

He was playing men's game in the Eurolegue with Real Madrid at 15. He then was finals MVP with them at 18-19. Then he went to Dallas.
He's a fantastic player. For me he's like Magic and Bird combined. He's slow/fast like Magic was and with his passing ability. And he has the shooting ability as Bird. Plus he's been adapting his defensive game, getting better. He's phenominal.
Edit: Although he has Kyrie Irving with him now on the team, he's the star of the team.
love watching Luka. he's not crazy athletic (his start/stop speed is great though) but his decision making and coordination put him over the top

It was hard to watch the amazement on your faces when I can’t take my eyes off of Luka! I get to watch him play every game and his unbelievable skills are matched by his pure love and fun for the game! Luka magic is real! MVP MVP MVP
He has the highest career high in points out of any player currently in the nba and the second highest in the modern era (73 points), hes also the only player to have 2 top 10 performances in terms of gamescore in nba history
Luka’s one of those guys where highlight reels don’t even do him justice. Watching him do this stuff over and over throughout the course of a game gives a much better picture of how dominant he’s been. Does seem like a nice dude too, just wish he’d chill out on the court a bit with the whining all game long, every game

He is the type of player you should build around, unfortunately Mavericks have been unable to(1.because he was too good too early, so Mavs couldn’t get high draft picks after they traded for him. 2. They traded assets for another player named Porzingis and due to injuries he never worked out)
Luka the kinda guy you watch and he instantly becomes your favorite player. He’s one of my favorite as a die hard Celtics fan
Luka is my favorite player in the NBA, he is the best player in the NBA, yes better than Jokic. But I fully respect Jokic and thinks a simar level. But with that said, what Luka is doing is completely unreal, he is easily one of the grestest ofensive players the game has ever seen, he completely picks apart defenses with his passing and scoring, and he is incredibly clutch.
I recommend a video by JxmyHighroller thats called When Trash Talking Goes Horribly Wrong. Its from around 2 years ago but it still is an unbelievable video on Lukas insane game. Theres another one too by JxmyHighroller, called The Best Game Ive Seen In My Life, where Luka seriously had one of the greatest games in history, cameback by down 9 with 30 seconds left, infact its the only time a teams ever done it since i think 1990, and he had the 1 and only 60 point 20 rebound 10 assist game in NBA history.

A lot of players called him slow, until the day he faked them out of their sneakers and went right past them. He's having an MVP season now, and the Mavs have finally(this week) built him a team that may be good enough to go very far.
He’s a great player, between him and kyree Irving the mavericks have two of the most skilled players in the NBA. My biggest gripe with Luka is that he complains about every single play with the referee, gets real old real quick. Phenomenal player with great size and a killer instinct.

Take this with a pinch of salt since this current era has knee capped defensive play quite a bit but after the recent 73 pt game Dončić is now the only player with 2 top 10 games (game score stat) of all time, #2 and #10.
Also the clip where he rebounds his own missed free throw is from that #10 all time game and its worth checking out by itself same way the 73pt game is.

you go tru the draft from euroleauge to NBA but some players alike Jokič are draafted but than still play in europe till the team decides they need them , but they can aqlso sign some one from euroleauge that has alredy been in NBA
You should watch some Trae Young highlights as well. Luka got traded for Trae so their careers will always be linked. Trae has become one of the biggest villians in the league and has been called the "king of New York" since his playoff series against them in 2021. He is a small PG with crazy playmaking ability and has the highest 3 point percentage from the logo ever so it would be a fun watch

International players do have to go through the NBA and NHL Drafts, unlike the MLB and NFL (with the caveat that for the NHL, American and Canadian players over 20 and international players over 21 do become free agents and are free to sign with any team). For all 4, even if you are born overseas, once you come to North America and especially if you play high school or college ball (or juniors for hockey) you have to go through the draft.
Luka was selected 3rd by the Hawks but traded on Draft night to the Mavericks for number 5 pick Trae Young and a first round pick the following year.

Luka is 100% the type of player you build around. He's a superstar, and yes he did enter the draft and was drafted by the Mavericks who he's been with his whole NBA career so far. The Mavs drafted him in the wake of the retirement of Dirk Nowitzki, another European superstar who spent his whole career with Dallas. His most notable teammate is Kyrie Irving who is currently injured. He's a player that the NBA knew would be a star because of how good he was in Europe- he basically didn't need to develop in the NBA and "become" a star, he was a star upon arrival and became a super-mega-star.

Bottom line, Luka is fun to watch. In a season tens of thousands of shots are shot, passes passed, dunks dunked. But most of them have a bland sameness. Then there are a few who make the game a joy to watch. And the shots impressive. The passes surprising. While creating an electric anticipation in the audience that something magical might happen in the next possession. Now you're in the rare air of a Bird, Magic, Jordan, Irving, or Pistol Pete. Luka is of that mold. He does have a rough road ahead of reaching the level of NBA champion. His ball dominance is quite high. Not a stat common to NBA champs. So Mark Cuban has his work cut out for him building a team that compliments his play, allows him to be himself, but also allows others to be themselves and get their proper touches. It's the same problem Jordan had early in his career. Hopefully it works out in his favor.
And that dance he did on the play where he intentionally missed the free throw... THAT LITTLE JIG WAS EPIC!

Also recommend watching the JxmmyHighroller Vid on Lukas dismantling of the Suns in the playoffs or on his most recent highlights a 73 point game
The best players will be coming from the European leagues now. They actually play tight defense over there so it's easy mode when they come to the NBA, where half the games look like All Star games these days.
I have two suggestions for NBA highlights. Tyrese Haliburton, point guard for the Indiana Pacers. He was drafted by the poorly run Sacramento Kings, but after being traded to the Pacers last year he's been able take a huge step forward. He might be the best pure passing PG in the NBA today. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Guard for the Oklahoma City Thunder. SGA was not one of the top prospects when he was drafted by the LA Clippers and then traded to a truly terrible OKC team in his second season. He's been slowly working his way up the NBA ranks. He has broken out into a true MVP candidate. Leading an OKC team that regularly had one of the worst records in the NBA for years all the way to the top of the Western Conference this year. SGA is one of the smartest and fundamentally sound players in the league today.
Luka was widely considered a child prodigy when it came to basketball. He became a professional at 13 years old. Even tho he is tall (6'7) he plays guard.

Well he's technically a small forward, he's not a point guard. He just has the ball most of the time. More like a point forward like Lebron James. Kyrie Irving is the point on that team. He was drafted 4th overall, most Europeans who come to the NBA, played a few years least professionally over there before coming in the NBA. All of them are drafted. Just most of the time, they will get drafted in the 2nd round cause they won't come to the NBA right away. Where Luka did when he was allowed. Luke played professionally in Europe since he was 16, you have to be around 19/20 or one year out of high school to be drafted in the NBA. Where overseas, they allow 16 years and up to be on teams. Just most of them don't play much or at all and are bench players mostly. Where Luka actually played a lot as a 16/17 year old.
Great to se someone genuinely amazed, but makes me sad you didn’t prepare at all for what’s to come. He is in the MVP conversations since day one and also this video is just some of the solid plays he’s done since entering the league. He came in as a teenager killing giants, and now he is destroying all time records. Go deeper into it guys.

The Irony is the 5th game of the second round of the plays offs had better highlights then what were in that video. There are a few since that video was put since he turned 25 that are not on the highlight reel.
The NBA can not offer contracts to players below 18 because no one can sign a valid contract before 18. Yes the Mavs drafted him. It was After he won the Euro League Championship and MVP for the Euro League.
He is considered a point guard but for his size he would be a point forward, the same as Magic Johnson. The style of basketball played today is positonless so the exact title is not that important. Only if you are 7 foot tall playing center position. All the other positions are interchangeable.
It is understandable you do not know much of the nitpicky minutia about the current NBA because most people still use the older concepts and terms when they no longer apply in today's game.

Players don't have to be drafted. Player drafting is simply a professional sport's method of putting as much talent in one place at an agreed upon time for everyone to have "equal" or earned spots at selecting the various quality players. And while professional sports have created specific time frames during which player acquisition and trading is allowed during and outside of their respective seasons, they can sign whoever they want during those times. TECHNICALLY, a professional team could choose to use NONE of their allotted selections during the draft and then hire players from wherever they found them. But as y'all probably know, Kobe was drafted right out of high school and other players have come over from the European leagues at ages greater than typical collegiate athletes. Hope this helps!

He's clearly ultra-talented, but not a fan. I don't like watching the ball dominant guards (Harden used to be like that). I prefer more of a cut and move offense with the ball moving than the point guard having the ball and isolating for 90% of the time. Some people love it. Not I.

This highlight reel places too much emphasis on Luka shooting 3s. He is a decent but not great 3-point shooter. It is his all-around mastery on offense that makes him great.
