My son also lacks a strong male role model. I did the best I could taking both mother and father roles, and I know itâs not good enough, he needed an actual father. Fortunately, heâs figuring this out, and unfortunately, the hard way. AlI I can do at this point is be supportive, be a good listener, offer direction when heâs open to hearing it, and trust in his capability that he will succeed. Iâm grateful to the men out there who can offer guidance.

How are you ensuring they see you as a positive role model?
It's always a problem, to not have a suitable role-model in life. But I think that the fact that friends are there for each other, or other men, they really can fulfil all needs by creating groups of interests etc and interacting with each other. It's better than having a bad father in life for sure (if that's the reason of father figure's absence).
Absolutely, having a supportive network of friends and mentors can fill important roles in our lives. It's about finding positive influences wherever they may be
