  • My every day warmups for Marimba! I'm hoping this helps somebody. I remember not knowing how to warmup in high school and even in undergrad, and I saw a HUGE leap in my ability when I started a regular warmup routine.
Comment what exercises or method books you use for warmups and I'll be sure to check them out!

I have to implement the arpeggios and inversions into my practice! Very smart way to blend scales and technique into one exercise. Thanks for the inspiration!

Awesome, I’m glad you were able to get something from the video!! Going up and down the inversions was definitely a game changer when I added them to my routine!

Great video. I always tell people to make sure their warmup works general technique but also has specific things in it that will help you with the current pieces that you're working on. If you're not playing a piece or don't plan to play any piece that has triple laterals at 140 bpm, it's probably not a good idea to spend 30 mins a day doing triple laterals in your warmup. Lol.

How long would you say you warm up for?

It definitely depends on how much I plan on practicing after, but I’d say the average is probably 15 minutes for the warmup.
