Besides the beauty of their music, what I love is the total lack of ego from these musicians. It's all about the music and not about them.
@@stantonh1452 lol
They were born for it. All of them
Big radiohead/ thom Yorke fan, but his ego is bigger than empire state building
yeah I would not say thom has a lack of ego lol
@@big9305 I've never met Thom Yorke, so I have no idea what he's like in real life. My original comment was about the performance of their music. There are also four other musicians in Radiohead that seem perfectly fine with staying in the background, yet creating something beautiful.
This basement session will go down in history as one the very best live performances ever. The production, the musicianship, all top notch.
It is fantastic. But TKOL's session is more refined, undeniably their best one.
Here's 🥃 to getting A MOON SHAPPED POOL! Cheers buddy!🥃🦄💯
@@TheWfurst idk man, they have different vibes you know, i like a little bit more the in rainbows vibe, the lighting, makes it look happy :)
@@pekee9304 each to their own. Just remember how different Radiohead is from album to album - fu$king love it! Artist pushing their boundaries, shifting their limits, discovering. Makes me warm and fuzzy 🤭. One of the very few left who haven't sold themselves short or out.
🥃🥃🥃 - to their next album, whenever it may be...I hope to be there looking forward to listening to it!
@@TheWfurst absolutely man!
My best guess is that the newalbum is gonna be TKOL-ish
@@pekee9304 we'll be so lucky🥲
Every member understands their place. No need to underwhelm the song just by understanding your place you know that the song is greater than you and that is what defines a solid band
Every member in their right place
That vocal delay is so damn hauntingly fantastic
I agree, the use of reverb and delay in this song in general is so beautiful
Thom Yorke's falsetto is pure decadent ecstasy.
Rip off though, from Don’t Let Me Down. John Lennon does the same thing iiiiiiiiih
I love how they just make a circle instead of regular setup
often how it is when not on stage
Holy fuck only when I saw some videos I notice that a lot of ethereal effects in their music are pure magic from Jonny's guitar. I really wanna do music like this someday...
Exactly, at 3:32 I don't know who does it either Ed or Jonny, but its so simple and beautiful how the guitar does an effect following thom's melody
@@Leo-tl4fd it's Jonny, playing guitar with a coin instead of pick
Life was perfect and nothing else mattered for 5 minutes and 28 seconds. The way Jonny makes that guitar howl🤤🤤🤤
Yes he does. Yes he does. And you're pretty hot looking. Yes you are, yes you are.;)
This is a certified hood classic
do people of color listens to radiohead
@@violethill4454 I do, wtf r u talkin' about
@@violethill4454 Yesss
@@violethill4454 Ahem, of course!
They do. I do.
This song is criminally underrated. 🔥
The video for this song has over 40 million views. Not exactly underrated
Matthew Corcoran since when does CZcams views define recognition?? The rapper Hopsin is one of the best to ever do it and has millions of views. Ask random people do they know who Hopsin is and see the results you get
Rayols esp&eng well you and rappers must have a lot in common. 👌🏽
Rσииιє Dαякö It’s one of my favorite songs of In Rainbows really, but the music video is great.
Matthew Corcoran That Music video is so damn good, it fits the song perfectly.
I need a basement shaped pool in the moon A.S.A.P!!!
Please!!!!!!🥃
I think u mean a moon shaped pool
@@greatmans_1019 you just don't get it 😁
Setuju ane gan!!
Jonny is a legend
His subtle and mysterious nature as a musician has always always struck a huge chord with me
2:50 Ed and Jonny do the magic
sounds like kida
That moment at 2:47 when Jonny just has string noise is brilliant.

PLEASE release this set on Blu Ray , i can't tell you how many hundreds of times I've watched it on youtube!
Download it at 320 kbps from mp3 quack.
Same
CZcams is fine. We really don’t need more plastic junk in the world.
Thom's voice is perfection here.
Thom Yorke is the definition of art.
He looks like a crackhead lol, but he is indeed amazing.
Love how Thom's moving when he plays here :)
His head naturally does a lot of the figure 8 when he concentrates
Listen to those guitar effects. Hauntingly beautiful!
I don't want to be your friend
I just want to be your lover
No matter how it ends
No matter how it starts
Forget about your house of cards
And I'll do mine
Forget about your house of cards
And I'll do mine
Fall off the table
Get swept under
Denial, denial
The infrastructure will collapse
Voltage spikes
Throw your keys in the bowl
Kiss your husband goodnight
Forget about your house of cards
And I'll do mine
Forget about your house of cards
And I'll do mine
Fall off the table
And get swept under
Denial, denial
Denial, denial
Your ears should be burning
Denial, denial
Your ears should be burning
I wish Jonny would do something of a tutorial of anything that he does...as Ed’s done.
His crazy talent is enthralling.
I could watch that guy all day long.❤️
THE Radiohead song for me. Insane honestly.
Radiohead Live from The Basement is the best thing on CZcams. Hard stop.
Imagine you are standing in the center of the same room, with the same color tones, alone, and this song is playing so loud, and you are spinning around and around, and the camera pans out and is spinning with you.
This masterpiece wasn't supposed to end
Thanks the audio is a treasure, i'm crying.
🐱❤😘
I know I love this song xx
Possibly my favorite song of theirs and I started at Pablo Honey and have heard everything. Something special about this one
This is my favorite From the Basement session. I’ve come back to it so many times. I was 15 when their first album dropped. A Gen X teen. My big brother got hold of their first album and then I swiped it and it became mine to absorb. I would babysit and watch MTV and pray they’d play the Fake Plastic Trees video. We knew Radiohead was special along with Nirvana and The Smashing Pumpkins. And so many others. What a time to be young, just as grunge music was exploding and changing our generation.
I was playing Exit Music on my piano when I got this notification. I love you.
I can't believe it song had to wait till june 2020 to be published. People who knows about this song are a dying breed. We are getting older and I always hope that the new generation realize the value of music like this, someday.
Oh my, I'm so old!😥
In 1995 I worked for a private motorcycle courier. We took booking to collect " urgent backing tape " from airport to the small venue Radiohead were playing in town.
Who knows what was in that package, but I'm glad I delivered it.🐱♏☯️🌌🏴
some of we do value this music :)
yes of course we do! Radiohead is actually a popular band right now for our generation
Same. I was 15 when The Bends came out and I stole it from my big brother. A beautiful era when grunge overthrew prep and all of us overall wearing babies took to the streets to wonder, drive in friends’ cars with nothing to do and nowhere to be. All of us squeezed together in the backseat. Back when all we did was hug our friends and sit shoulder to shoulder.✌🏼
don't get any big ideas , they are not gonna happen.
This is what heaven sounds like.
Radiohead for me has always been the type of music that grows the more I listen to them. When I would get a new release I'd always feel as the previous was better work. Now that I've listened I've come to the realization that it's all exceptional. I'm awaiting a new album. They are definitely a band who's music is still relevant. Though it's hard for me to believe I've been listening for nearly 20 years and I enjoy their music as much now as in the beginning. As musicians they are amazing. Thoms melodies are amazing, and the the rest of the band is equally amazing. The guitar parts are so original and as a guitar player the songs are very satisfying to pick up. As a musician I can tell they are very knowledgeable. In theory, for example on the song just, in the way the song is built on a diminished run up the neck, This sort of thing dosent just happen by chance, they most assuredly know their shit and it shows with every song they've written. I have so much respect for this band and truly believe they have a big enough following that whatever they release will undoubtedly add to their timelessness. Their music for me is just as relevant as it was in the 90s. I very much hope they release at least 2 or 3 more albums before they hang it up for good.... the chemistry of a band like Radiohead dosent happen to often.
Agreed, this song is critically underrated.
~ Peace, love & light
❤❤❤
One of their best compositions, I think, and my favourite track on In Rainbows. 😍
There is no teraphy more effective than this
I like to listen to this and From the Basement version of Nude for extra chills. Whenever Phil starts drumming I feel like a snake leaving off his old skin, to become a totally new snake.
This song is such a thing of beauty
Silence this is a perfect time... 😌
I DONT WANNA BE YOUR FRIEND
I JUST WANNA BE YOUR LOVE
it's these opening lines, thom's soft mumbley tender drunk vocals, the simple similar "be mine" by rem instrumentation, subtle yet so heartbreaking, beautiful and groovy (yes!) that makes me tear up, and it's only the start of the song! a space love ballad for sure, i know a lot of people don't love it that much as rest of the stuff off "in rainbows" but oooh, does this take off any banality from life and makes everything important and loveable again
We need live from MTV Beach House 1993
I’ve watched the Basement live session like a thousand times already but it never fails to amaze me every single time I watch it again
There's something about HoC and Nude from IR that reminds me of the classic songwriters and songs. HoC reminds me of Wichita Lineman, I know it sounds nothing like it, but there's something about the atmosphere that's similarly haunting and timeless. I could imagine someone like Johnny Cash singing it and it sounding instantly like a classic.
This whole session is top class. Thank fk for Radiohead when you need them.
I could listen to this song every day until the day I die.
This I believe is the best song they've ever made
I'm alone and I don't play any instruments well I just produce by computer and doing beatbox but I get so much inspiration from you guys. It's crazy , now that I'm in London I find this even more significant
This is the most beautiful art
This song brings me such peace and joy
The most beautiful song ever written and a flawless rendition.. perfection!!
My favorite song from the album and it is an overlooked one for sure. You can kind of see Lotus Flower influence here from The King Of Limbs. I believe that House Of Cards is about the excitment of a love affair and that Lotus Flower is about the sadness of one. The feeling of being the extra person and not the spouse. Lotus Flower also is like the fear of getting caught and feeling like a mouse hence, "While the Cat is Away".
What is the meaning of this song? Specifically at the end, denial and your ears should be burning?
@@kbanghart "your ears should be burning" is what happens when someone is thinking/talking of you.
@@kbanghart Thom wants to smash a mates wife but he can’t. he’s denied.
What birds listen to when they fly...over our dystopias.
This is an awesome comment!!!
I have loved this melodic song for years. ❤️
I just find their music beautiful. Maybe you need to try again. I know it took me so many listens to get into them. After a couple of listens, that noise starts to differentiate and reveals really interesting ideas.
One of the best songs ever made.
Beautiful song😍
Brilliant
Nice hypnotic vibe. So Radiohead. Such a cool song.....
Gold to infinity 💙
I never listen to this on weekdays because it relaxes me so much that I literally cannot get anything done. On the weekends I love putting it on though because its literally like a lullaby, and puts me at ease.
the way this song takes me back.. just magical!
One of my favourites by Radiohead!! This live from the basement is so magical! 💕💕🙏🙏😎😎
Oh my God this is just one of the most beautiful, Awesome songs I have ever heard ! The talent of the band is just amazing I’ve been listening to them for years but always find new nuances to their music !
Love you guys from India ... It reminds me my London days in 2009 ❤️❤️❤️ this track still trips me enough 🌻
Love this track!!!
This is so beatiful
Ever since i found my current girlfriend ive been listening to this life performance, i have never been so happy in my life:,)
enjoy it as long as it lasts buddy, if it's still lasting.
Still love the song, but I'm afraid things didn't work out
Cathartic!!!
The best live concert from the best album from the greatest band of the world.
I love how you comment in videos from in rainbows haha
THE DRUMMING UNDERRATED?😭
There are a lot of drummers who may be more technically skilled, but he creates some incredibly unique beats.
Listening to this song eyes shut just makes me fly away!!
The sheer patience has playing such simple & repetitive (but beautiful & integral) parts on certain songs blows my mind. My ADHD wrecks me in that department & I start improvising.
Tldr; Ed’s a bit underrated, bruv.
Truly a fucking good one
A lot of Tragically Hip in that groove.
Growing up in Calgary they were a big thing around there and Ontario I’m glad to see someone else with the same taste , cheers man
An Angel surely sing background , this song takes me on different journeys every time. 🙌🏻
Thank you Thom Yorke & Radiohead ❤ This song feels like it's not far away in time.🎵🐱♏☯️🌌🏴
This group has matured so much since their “Creep” years. It’s honestly inspiring as fuck. I feel like maybe this is what the Beatles would’ve sounded like had they stayed together longer.
I just think they’re similar to the Beatles because their albums are all real works of art, they’re one of the best groups ever. So textured and like emotional
Love it so calming
i wish this song would never end
Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou for making these sessions on youtube!!!!!!!

This is literally soul music.

Beautiful...👍🏻
I love you Thom , Jhonny , Colin, Philip and Ed ❤️❤️ This song🔥😭❤️
Una propuesta indecente, disfraza de erotismo con sonidos ambientales de la guitarra de Greenwood, hermosos.
