      Yes, that was well done although I'm sure Tim was just taking a brief moment to silently clear his throat...... :)

    Nice one Tim. Heading down to the tying bench to tie up a couple - I am sure the local bluegills are going to love these! Thanks for posting!

    I like tossing these along the shoreline and over weed beds at dusk to coax cruising trout into striking. They seem to love this pattern especially with a couple of twitches after landing.

    The euphemisms in this video are off the charts. Good looking fly.

    Love your videos. I'm coming back to fly fishing after 2 years. Let me ask, why purple? And what species do you target with this purple creation?

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 4 lety

      As to why purple, I have no idea other than it just plain works, same with pink. Just got back from the Kootenai in Montana and once again, even with few terrestrials around, purple and pink full and half Chubbys were the go to dry flies for much of the day.

    Interesting fly. Wondering if there's a different way to whip finish it without that last under the foam move toward the eye...

    • @tightlinevideo
      @tightlinevideo  Před 4 lety +2

      You can certainly whip finish where the wing and legs are attached but it will definitely hurt fly durability. There is nothing like a good well seated whip finish directly to hook iron. In terms of that little strand of thread getting cut, I've yet to have it happen. The foam seems to be the thing that takes a beating.

    Where did you get the container that you have the head cement in it. And isn’t sally Hanson hard as nails for finger nails?

    Nice ty, what is that tool that you use to cut the thread? Thanks for what you bring to fly fishing!

      He uses the end of his whip finish tool with its edge filed to a cutting edge. He has a video showing how he created it.

    having trouble using UV ice dub; not getting a thin dubbed thread as you do. Any hints? Dubbing wax, etc?

      @@georgebanker2669 Yup, use a little wax and don't try to dub a big wad all at once.

    Hmmm. I can't but think that our fish eat things like this because they are exposed to too much toxic waste, and pollution. But if it works, it works. Well tied sir.
