For me it wasn't even that the game stopped being new. I played it for years and it still had a freshness to it.
In trying to fix what wasn't broken, they just fundamentally changed so much about it that made the WoW experience for me. I know I'm not alone.
Miss those days so much, but at least the music keeps the memories alive.
I could just stand on the harbour in Auberdine and watch the moon go down by the sea and smell the sacred fresh air... oh, I loved this song, it really gave me a memory of my good ol' World of Warcraft days....

This is where my very first NE character did quests with my friends that i met in WoW, memories and nostalgia rushing and spinning in my head,now i wanna go back to the past,forget about WoW and start it all over once again.
Apparently from all these comments, this played in Auberdine? I completely forgot that.. but damn, I know it sucks Blizzard ruined the place but, they added the touch of showing the dead NPCs, like the innkeeper and such... shit cut me deep.
whenever i start to draw/sketch landscapes or forests, this song always plays in my head. wow's been an amazing art influence to me...
This song makes my cry, Its the music that reminds me off the fallen in real.
The first second of this movie sounds like the beginning of the Song of healing for MM.

I remember the first time I got to Auberdine, flying over the sea between Teldrassil and Darkshore for the first time.
Such a huge contrast to see ghostlike Darkshore right after Teldrassil, and then that moonwell in the middle of Auberdine. I miss it. ;

its impossible to count all the times i have heard this song and thought "woah, this is beautiful".
Man this song brings memories as my time as newbie in darnasuss. so happy for every little detail in the game, i could run around just looking at the trees as a lvl 10 rogue, and still having a great amount of fun.

I will never forget the first thing I tought about World of Warcraft without even realizing I was going to call the game by its own name: WoW!
it makes me cry too wow soundtracks are the best songs when u are sad, angry or disapointed( this, song of elune, the shaping of the world and others)
I just keep making myself sad coming back to this, but I can't help it. ;(

Definately brings memories back. The best memory I have from my first time WoW was listening to the Elwynn Forest Music in the background, sitting on the rocks near the Lakehouse, and just talking. We did that almost every day. But I don't remember what happened after.
Yeah, the nelf area exhausted me just running through it because of the peaceful music :).
I have been playing for 6 years and i remember those days and nights long ago creating my first character , listening to music like this . I have the most fun i had ever had in my life. Those days are over for me . wow is still fun but not like that .So to all the noobs out there. Make the most of it ...
I agree with all of that. I came back to WoW for a month or two to get some NE nostalgia, but it just wasn't the same without the dozens of newbs around like when my server first started. Really barren, all about racing through the starting areas now.

You're just totally right. The music brings memories of many perfect old-wow things back, thats why wow is far the best game ever made.
I always hated going through the Night Elf zones late at night...The music was so relaxing it made me fall asleep on my computer

@CloneWarrior001 True. WOW was the most fun when it was new, and when nobody knew anything about it. There was no elitists, know-it-all's, trolls...it was just a bunch of people discovering things in a different world. The thing that made it fun was the mystery about it. Its like science. It would stop being fun if we knew everything. It reminds me of the first ever photograph of Saturn. Its low res, blurry, but its somehow so magical and makes you wonder.
I would want to forget WoW and all the crap i've learned about it!
And start again with the awesome feeling...

@TiaJaHuntress I know exactly what you mean. Once you start one character, you try to regain that feeling of grandeur and wonder that first set upon you as you stepped into the world of Azeroth... but you never could truly relive that feeling ever again...

i remember starting my 2nd ever character, my night elf druid, which was second after my undead warlock, and for some reason i deleted the druid at like level 19 i wish i hadn't, it was second character ever and it was special.
this song reminds me of my first day in world of warcraft and how amazing and magical it was!
i miss the feeling of discovering all the amazing things about wow back in vannila wow!

brighteyes5five or you can make a macro with the /script with this theme and you can make this theme play anywhere. Fortunately it only affects your UI so no one else can hear it.

man! this kind of music is one of the factors of why people get so stuck to the game; gratz to blizzard cause they made such a good job on that

@TiaJaHuntress Perfectly...there is an italian gamer that has made a dozen songs about wow in karaoke versions of other songs: I started playing listening to those songs, and when I hear them again I almost cry, 'cause i sort of remember how it was in the beginning...and I miss that feeling.
Elves are the best fantasy race, in every book, game, and movie...in fact, i was thinking about having surgury to get pointed ears,lol.

You dont know how right you are. In fact that's one of the best statements I've read on WoW in a long time.
When a game is new, it's always most fun. You dont care about dps or equip because you dont have to at this point, you just enjoy the game as it is while others have nothing better to do than mourning after the old version of wow.

@Perais1337 I havent heard it anywhere except in Dire Maul entrance once since cata came out , it used to play in alot of zones , especially night elves zones ,i kept hearing it in the original WoW's World , maybe it still plays in some other cata zones, but i havent heard it since then unfortunately:(

Haha. I remember when I first got to darkshore from Teldrassil, and I was so depressed that it was all dark and sad looking instead of how enchanted Teldrassil had been. I was so sad about it that I had someone take me all the way to the dwarf area to quest there instead! Which was a very big deal and a very long run back in 2004.

I remember my very first time on WoW. i created a Human Warlock and abandoned him at level 3.. 5 days into the game, i made a Warrior called "Worriorex" He is now level 47 and i love him dearly... Oh, only if i could go back to level 27 ( best lvl experience for me) and level 12... such great times...
@Sangrie1 No. Noob is a relative characteristic. On the first day no one is a noob since noone knows more than the other. And those days were the most beautiful, just like this song that makes me cry.
Yeah! xD You know what I'll contact Blizzard right now and ask one of those "producers" why they made new expansions, for the gamers who play for PvP, well they like the areas too but we really wanna go back in time to live it up again. Lovely WoW xD

@jolika03 oh yea, first time....2005...i started human priest..and this music played in elwyn while kiling wolfs....i remember exploring under this masterpiece...the feeling of awe and magesty will never comback...still hope remains with catacysm revamp..my first time in sw with the sw opening music...it was..the most epic experiance i have ever lived through in video games

I hate it when people call you a noob. (Ive played for years so Im trying to say this in a modest manner but I think im not a noob anymore im experienced) but I actually defend the noobies because one time or anyother the accuser was a noob once too.
Wise words ... I played also for 3 years and I got enough from elite raids and guild ... the feeling of atmosphere ... of a story is gone . Now its only work to farm the next higher gear ... Thats why I quit
Ah, I'm sure all of you miss your old WoW days, I started mine in the ending of TBC, and somewhere close to WotLK, I was just questing a long, having fun. Exploring places. Talking to strangers.. Ah the good ol' days..Now it's just raiding and gear.. Shame on Blizzard for letting the good times go.. :'(

@TiaJaHuntress WoW was so epic when you had just started. I mean, there before you lay a whole new world and lore that needs discovering and you're the man for the job. Once you've hit 80 you've pretty much discovered everything and its just not the same anymore... I miss being a noob too.

Totally know what you all mean. Played it since the very first hours it came out, and I completely miss being a noob. It sounds wierd but anyone that has played as long as most of us will know what I mean. The game is just not the same anymore :/

I hear Really alot ppl saying : i miss the magic feeling first time exploring wow,
so that's why blizzard made the Cataclysm, Redesigning alot, and giving ppl the magic feeling back, so lets wait just a few months till cataclysm.
Then we play hours and hours in heaven again!

@TiaJaHuntress I completely understand. I haven't been with tit that long, but I got it in the middle of Burning Crusade. I do miss some of the older things. They need to open a server or two that is pre-Burning Crusade. I think they said that is not the direction they are trying to take the game, but I bet they would make some long-loyal customers happy. I do know what you mean.
yes :/ But we can still live with the landscapes until it gets, you know.. flooded and burned... :( But the flooded darkshore looks okay, though, we miss it. I'll keep contact with you if you wanna talk 'bout WoW xD
