- We share the ugly side of things as we continue our off grid homestead build in the Cochise county desert land.
All of these occurred over a month span, but it still left us wondering if we can do this & can we fight Mother Nature (winds).

Huff and puff and it will blow down. Best wishes from Ridge Valley Ranch! My property is in Apache County which is covered with juniper and pine to help slow down the wind down, but just barely.
Been there, done that, lost our shade tent lol. We too went with CampLux. Live and learn. Blessings🙏
shelter logic is the best frame ive had last on my property BUT keep the instructions so u know which plastic cover to buy when it dies in 2 years or less from the wind and sun damage. plus i post hole dug footers and used concrete anchors to hold down the legs if it.
New to the channel and loving the content
Those winds are always destroying something here in Navajo Co. Someone's wading pool just flew over the other day.
I grew up in Navajo Co and you are so right. I was organizing my storage a couple of weeks ago and the wind started up. I wandered across most of my property and the neighboring one and still didn't find everything that blew away.
There's a tree nursery down near Douglas, off Double Adobe Rd called Parklands Tree Farm and Nursery. They specialize in trees and shrubs that grow well in our area, and are very reasonably priced.

Shelter logic is ok for the price,mine lasted about 2 years in No.Az then the tarp matierial starts to break down
we went through the same thing, ours was bolted down so the whole structure was destroyed..lesson learnt.. we are building with lumber now.
We sacrificed a couple tents and easy ups to the wind when we first got our property. The first few years we were building structures for the extended family. Now we are finally getting to focus on more of the homestead projects.
Check out this cooker I bought Dec 2022 .. it's still working great .. I use it to heat a bucket of water then a used plastic coffee container to pour water on my self to wash my body 🧏🏡🔥🔥

im gunna reuse my shelter logic frame now and turn it into a greenhouse w minor alterations for the clear panels
Yep! That’s our thoughts, too… for now it’ll sit like a skeleton till we circle back to it. :)
#235 of 500. Where did you get those totes? Never seen one with the covering, but I don't get to the city very often.
Hey there! There’s a company outside of Tucson who resales all the empty inc totes from a nearby food manufacturing plant. Can’t remember their exact name, but they advertise on marketplace. Those are just metal cased food grade IBC totes.
@@Christenhelm I've been in the boonies too long, never seen a metal encased tote. Me want a half dozen.
