Just to clarify - at 10:32, the Spanish girl correctly named the car brand as SEAT (pronounced say-at) but the subtitle mentions SAAB by mistake, which is a Swedish military hardware maker that used to make civilian cars, but not anymore sadly. btw, SEAT is an abbreviation which means Spanish Society of Touring Automobiles. Cheers from Bangladesh :)

The media really brainwash everyone about men's football. In Asia we're like that too. I used to follow the premier league as a child just because the TV is shoving these down our throats day in day out. Now I'm grown up and I realize I was such a sheep lol Many of these male players are spoiled brats, Ronaldo is literally a rapist and big teams are money laundering business for the shady owners: Leicester City's owner for example is a Thai dude who is a BIG supporter+accomplice of Thai military junta that is in control of Thailand for almost a decade now.
Leicester City team owner's company, King Power, was harboring the police squad that shot Thai protesters this year.
This is a known fact in Thailand.
As a Thai, I want to ask for a favor from all of you to NEVER support Leicester City team financially for this reason. This guy is basically a murderer. Please support Thai+Myanmar+Taiwan+HK fight against dictatorship! #milkTeaAlliance
Really, before you support any of these football team: please google their owners for the shady business and corruption. Please do your part to be a responsible world citizen and do not support these crooks. There's nothing to be proud of about that. If you love football, please support your local teams that has the real sense of community and team spirit, not the shady mega-billion dollar-teams with shady players and toxic hooligan cults.

Same. I think the French and German women in this videos are awesome. The other two are trying too hard to be the in crowd, especially with the football stuff. They don't realize how toxic the football culture has become. I hope people google the news about Leicester City's owner accused of £327m corruption, as well as what he did in the police shooting at the Thai protesters. How Leicester City's owner is a part of Thai military junta.

@@solongsuicide9 actually outside Britain many anglo nations have soccer since they have their own sports which they call football like in Ireland with gaelic football, which many just call football. Back in the day so many "football" sports, well, had the name football in it plus a term to distinguish it (like gaelic footvall), even football itself which was association football, shortened to soccer. That's why we have these two names, which both originate in England, there football prevailed. Most nations got the sport over England, so the name is either like football, like in Spanish and French, a translation of football like in German or something similar like iirc in Italian and Polish. Like kickball. Then we have countries like Japan which got it over the US, so their term is something similar to soccer.
(not hating or anything) but as a French people when you learn English you learn to say soccer, so I think they said soccer to make it easier and to be easily understand by everyone

It is a very fun interaction between these young women. Very conversational and casual. I've visited the UK and France before and it is very interesting to see the differences from America. As much as there are many smaller differences between European countries, they are distinctly different from the same things in the U.S. or Korea. When I traveled to France and asked for tap water at a street-side restaurant, the waiter seemed offended. But the request was because we usually start service at a table with water for everyone, although now they ask you if you want water and drinks first. But chilled tap water is still free. As a small point, the subtitles said that SAAB was the main Spanish car brand, but she rightly said SEAT, who is the Spanish automotive partner of VW. Just to shock the world even more, the legal *drinking* age in Germany is actually 14 under the supervision of a parent though. But at 16 you are allowed to drink and buy (light) alcohol.
😱.... thats not okay😅
@@pienclemens7913 in Germany it is, even approved by law 😂
The drinking age in England and Wales is 5 if drinking in a private dwelling. It is 16 in a pub or restaurant for beer, cider, wine or mead if purchased by an adult for consumption with a "substantial meal". At 18 you can drink what you want anywhere it is not specifically forbidden (including busses if they don't stipulate otherwise).
@@pienclemens7913 It's totally okay. USA have strict laws but still have more problems with young people drinking than in Germany or France, that tells you something. Being forbidden (even at an advanced age) is what makes drinking alcohol the "cool" thing to do in USA.

For information, about water in France. Restaurant/Bar/Cafés cannot refuse to give you tap water if you ask them even if you don't buy anything with them. So if you are thirsty and need a glass a water you can go to any of those establishments and ask for a glass of tap water and won't be asked to pay. It is a health concern, dehydration is real.
When at a table, if you ask for water they will usually (not always) ask if you want bottled water (eau en bouteille) that you'll have to pay for or water in jug (une cruche d'eau) which is free. When you are not asked for details and you do not precise it yourself, depending on what type of establishment you are in or their policies, they will assume tap water or bottled water. It is pretty common to ask for a jug of water, so there is no need to fret about that. In an establishment that cares about their customers, the jugs are refrigerated. Just note that not everywhere in France tap water is good, in Paris for instance, it is preferable to drink bottled water, in Bretagne, tap water is perfectly fine.
So with experience I'd say that it is preferable to give details right away and not just ask for "water". If you want a bottle, there will usually be a list of brands of sparkling and bland water on the menu with the other drinks. If you don't know the brands, ask for a bottle of water. The waiter will then ask "bland or sparkling", and once you tell them which one you want, they will list off the different brands they have (if they provide several).
Exactly. Also the toilette. Bar and café will borrow you the toilette and we don't need to buy anything.
I'm Brazilian and I really love the videos because that way I train to listen to different accents in English. girls you guys are amazing!
The French girl seems like " why am I here now" 🤣
I'm from Spain and I don't know if it's because she's from Barcelona and I'm from Madrid but I disagree with some things she said. In my city if you go to a restaurant they give you free water. Anyway, it's depends on the region, could be huge differences between Canary Island and the Basque Country for example.
I'm from Valencia and here it isn't normal that the restaurants give you free water. A girl remind me that is legal to ask for tap water, but I don't remember seeing it in any restaurant... It's also truth that the water in Valencia is very hard and I don't know if I prefer to continue drinking mineral water 😅

claudia warmed my heart sm, i love the social culture
Their football teams are actually so good historically speaking. But shoutout to Spain and France they also have very good basketball teams.
Something we do a lot in Spain for "Botellon" (which is a gathering of young people drinking in the street) is that we buy for example a bottle of vodka and a bottle of soda like fanta or cocacola and mix it inside the soda bottle so it doesn't stand out too much, but now everybody knows so it's pretty obvious anyway.
And in big festivities like Pilares or Cipotegato (at least where I'm from) we tend to buy a gallon of water, some cartons of wine and some bottles of cocacola, we empty the gallon of water and throw the rest inside, then we bring it wherever we go for the whole group to drink from, if we're enough people and we can afford it we tend to make more than one gallon. Also the mix is called "calimotxo" I think it originated in the Pais Vasco region, but now everyone drinks it.
In Spain it depends of the zone of Spain you live, and the kind of water, if tap water it's hard (near the coast), normally you to have to pay for a bottle of water, but in places like Asturias (north of Spain), or Madrid, which tap water is less hard, you can ask the waiter for a jug of water for free.
In Andalucia too, I always ask for tap water

A correction about having to pay to use the toilet. Many trainstations out of zone 1 ie central London you often need to pay. But outside zone 1 toilet are normally free.
The French girl is my spirit animal.
France=Spain. Britain=Germany in some way some how
exactly, France and spain are both latin and mediterranean countries while germany and Britain are germanic and northern european nations
@@myriam6101 you have some knowledge do you live in Europe
@@Head_of_the_Table2.0 everyone in Europe know that so there might be chance yeah
I think that France is like a central nucleus among the four: it is the only one that borders on the other three (with the United Kingdom it is through the Channel Tunnel). United Kingdom, Germany and Spain are spaced approximately 500 to 1000 km between them.
France is also the only one that has a linguistic link with the other three: the French language is a Latin language like the Spanish language, it is also partially a Germanic language and it greatly influences the English language because almost 50% of English words come from French.
@@litogor French is a bit special but there is also a part of arabic in it
The prices for drinks in Germany are high because it´s a big amount of the restaurants profit, and the meal prices in german restaurants are ususally cheap. You can buy a whole meal with 3 eating courses for about 30€ or cheaper....so their profit will made of the beverage.
I visisted Germany many times both south, center and north.. It was SO hard to find still water anywhere. Shops, supermarkets, fastfood chains. I mostly had luck finding it sometimes in supermarkets...but it was very stressful lol And when I did I was disappointed in the quality...
Technically illegal to drink in public spaces in France, that includes parks
"technically" xD that's the word
I wish there were more south representations, as Italian or Portuguese haha you would see how spanish and italians interacts as if they were friends bc we have this common thing of interacting with unknown people that I have never seen on the rest of Europe.
I am from germany and use a soda stream to csrbonate the water.
Sometimes i drink just ice cold tab water but on some days and i dont know why the tsp water drys out my mouth lile sometimes there is more calk in it or something and you can taste it. But I want to feel hydrated nit dehydrated and these are the days I have to drink it carbonated it neutralises the dry mouth effect
9:40 in the Netherlands it is the same we drive Mid-Suvs which are not as big as like American SUVS but they aren't small but in most cities they drive city cars like the Volkswagen UP, Smart ForTwo, Volkswagen Polo and FIAT 500 but the most sold cars are mostly cars that have different styles like the Volkswagen Golf a hatchback with a station version called the Golf Variant.
I’m Spainish if you ask for a glass of water, it is free. It is different when you are going to eat, that you pay for a bottle
If you're eating and ask for a glass of tap water they give it to you too, they are obligated by law
10:33 It's not "Saab", but "Seat". Saab is a car manufacturer from Sweden. Seat is from Spain.
clear your ears, she said Seat, the person writing the English Subs wrote Saab
In Canada(Quebec) for the restaurants they always pour us water when the waiter comes we don't need to pay.
In Portugal, you don't pay for tap water at the restaurant. But water bottles you have to pay of course.
The French girl was mostly very quiet and friendly. She didn't do anything wrong.
OK but why the need to say it, though 😂 Like we French do wrong things so that was surprising 😂
I'm German and I still drink in the subway. Didn't know its not allowed anymore. :D
Was bout to say I still see people with alc in the U Bahn.

The original sparkling water is from germany. Seltzer is derived from Selters.
So yeah, it started as a fancy “health drink” being exported around the globe way back when and has since become a staple in Germany for its refreshing quality.
In Spain you can ask for a glass of water for free, and that's normal!!
El problema es que en Barcelona el agua del grifo es CRIMINAL está malísima, igual por eso la chica decía lo de pagar el agua porque ya te digo que es horrible kajajaja

Marina is not saying the truth in France people drink outside. It concerns most of the time Young people. In summer by night it's pretty common in Paris. Aux invalides, quai de Seine etc...
Well Paris is kind of its own country tbh.
I rarely saw that personally (I lived in middle-sized cities).
Pour un pique-nique oui, comme elle le précise d'ailleurs. Par contre taper un flash sur un parking c'est pas la norme, je crois que c'est dans ce sens là ce qu'elle dit.
We would like to see more videos about it :)
You'll never walk alone, Lauren, my new best friend.
TBH,that french girl have some vibes.
me gusta este video porque está divertido y podemos conocer las diferencias entre países europeos.
In Sweden still/tap water is always free (unless it's bottled). At cafes and bars there's usually a water-tank nearby that normally has glasses next to them and you can just take a glas. At restaurants the server ask if you want a jug of water for the table and if you want it iced (especially when ordering alcoholic drinks) and if you need to refill the jug, you just ask. Most places even offer kids under 10y/o free milk.
You have to know that tap-water in germany is often at a higher quality then bottled-water. So its not just "save".
And no it's not so easy to get alcohol when you younger than 16, because they stricten the law a lot, so every shop check for your ID. But for sure if you have an older friend...
