Conservative pundit Ben Shapiro admits he was ‘destroyed’ after cutting short TV debate

American conservative commentator Ben Shapiro has admitted he was “destroyed” in a TV interview this week with British journalist Andrew Neil after being widely mocked for storming out of the debate and telling Neil: “I’m popular, and no one has ever heard of you.”
Shapiro complained repeatedly throughout the interview, on the BBC’s “Politics Live” program, as the longtime broadcaster and former newspaper editor pressed him on some of his previous comments.
“This is a giant waste of time, in the sense that the entire interview is designed for you to shout slogans or old things that I’ve said at me,” he told Neil.
“I’m not inclined to continue an interview with a person as badly motivated as you,” he said, cutting the interview short despite earlier telling Neil he had “reached out to so many people across the aisle to have conversations with them.”

If you have a gun in your house, close to your bed, you must hide it in a place where "no one can find it"; but, first of all, I'd like to know where such a place is, and secondly, even if you put it in a box with a code combination, how can you say you are using it to protect yourself from thieves? Can you really open such a box during an emergency?
Just use a taser. We don't need guns, we just don't. Even police men and women don't need them. A taser can cover all the distance you need and it's not lethal (unless the person has a heart disease).
If you want to argue that "in that case only criminals would have them" - well, one could never and ever understand if you are a criminal or not when you are buying a gun. I may perfectly buy a gun and look ok, but if I had bad intentions I could perfectly look like a nice guy, right? How may I understand I am ready to use a gun? How could I be sure I won't use it when enraged?
Guns did not solve anything. The only use I can understand is: if you live in a large territory, or in an isolated farm or ranch etc, I can see why you want a rifle because you always fear your cattle may be stolen. But that's a totally different lifestyle. We don't live in a far west village. We live in apartments, we can call the police, we have cameras, we can stop a criminal without killing and avoid putting other people's life at risk.
They were both so much more reserved and polite back then lol. 10 years later this conversation seems so civil on both sides.

@@nutnut9915 Shapiro claimed she went from responsible to irresponsible and failed to clarify where to even remotly draw the line and why the line should be drawn there. For example, if the line would be drawn at people who have any sort of mental issues, then that excludes roughly 1/3rd of the American population from the ability to own weapons, which would likely just extend to the families of said people, because there is no legal way for our system to accurately observe the responsibility (or lack there of) any person in the country.

I fully support that people can own automatic rifles in this country. I don't think you should be able to get one at 18. I do not think you should be able to walk out with one without a wait period. I think there needs to be better background checks, more strict mental health screening not just for you, but for immediate family. I think guns need to be safely stored in a unreachable place when not in use to keep it away from others. I also thought it was hilarious when he handed him the Constitution. I think these restrictions need to be federally placed on assault weapons, not single fire handguns. Automatic handguns need some of the same supervision. Then there is other stuff like bullet proof vests and other things I don't really want to get into. I also think it should be a separate process to have a license for ARs. Feels like some common sense gun laws there, but you got states like Texas passing "constitutional carry" laws and you can't really be okay with that. As I said before though, I completely support the right to own these guns and the constitution as a whole, since that is the reason we can have this conversation and exercise our right to free speech. (Also that thing I said about Pier's comeback was a joke sorry if that wasn't clear but then I am ignorant and a child)
