Just to make it clear ppl this is a comp of vieira and keanes performances only from this game. Its solely to see how those two performed.
I like it for Arsenal beat them . More IMPORTANTLY mu lost. Its Beautiful to see it today as it was that day. Fergie kicked a boot that hit beckham that day. Brilliant. 👏👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤❤
It's always a case of Racism. The ref was bad. Now I know why I hate Man United. They had it easy most times with help of referee
@@erniescullion8452 arsenal def didn't win the day they fell out in the tunnel,Vieira was once again in the losing side heheh.
a clear evidence of viera outclassing keane, thanks for bringing the touches of only the 2 players, the final result its Viera 9 - 1 Keane.
@Davy-yt8qg you must be stupid.
The image of Vieira and Keane being spoken to by a ref will always be a symbol of the greatest premier league player rivalry ever. 97-05 was the best
How good was Vieira by the way.. genuinely world class
Untouchable
goat cdm
He was fucking shit, keane was levels above
@@lastofusgoat 🤡
@@lastofusgoat wtf are you saying viera is more techical than keane , but keane isnt bad either just not as technical as viera
From a time when footballers were still loved for having a persona and character
Those club would lost easily by every club right now. Dirty play and tacticless
Even the pretty boys, such as Beckham and Ljungberg weren't affraid of getting in the mix of the rough part.
@@Opah4793 I could say the same. The tactical clubs you mentioned wouldn't stand a chance if they're playing in the 90s and early noughties.
@@Opah4793 Yeah.. no. No tactics can replace work horses and passion
But won a euro and world cup
Patrick Viera is a beast in that Arsenal midfield, He is everywhere defending, playing making and dribbling and creating goal scoring chances. No wonder Arsenal went undefeated in 2004
who can you compare viera to in todays game?
@@itr0863 Well it's hard to put forth a name who'd be similar to Veira cz I believe in today's modern football players focus more on technical and tactical aspect of football and avoid getting physical during the game. However if I think of anyone thats gonna come closer being Veira, it'd have to be a Peak Paul Pogba in terms ability on the ball and similar physical stature to Veira but with that being said Pogba has never been consistent and physical dominating the midfield.
@@realtrendingfacts gotcha. so the physical side from pogba is what is missing when compared to viera. seemed like viera was up to do anything, even in defense and tracking back.
@@itr0863 ofcourse without a doubt. He was the main man in the Arsenal squad. He never got outplayed in the middle of the park and when he did the gunners couldn't manage to play their normal game.
@@itr0863 I would have said Yaya Toure... has really similar abilities to him
Utd fan but watching this reminds me of what a team Arsenal were back then. Viera was immense. Talk about losing their way. Great to see two top teams going at it like that.
Its a shame we see the likes of $hitty chel$ki and potentially $$$castle taking over the league rather than the traditional big three - pool, utd, arsenal. Arsenal fan here
"Talk about losing their way".
This comment did not age well for you, bud xD
@@ajaxlewis7664 not sure what you mean. How more lost can they both be going on the season both teams have just had.
@@johnmccormick1648 The way you worded your sentance made it seem like it was directed at Arsenal. Yeah, both teams are shite and I'm loving it.
How's about a raincheck right about now?
Probably the best era of the premier league. Not because they got away with a lot of fouls and certainty players are better skilled today but this era showed real passion and competitiveness of the players. People loved the players on the field persona and character.
Im not sure I'd say they are better skilled though
Lies again? Allah Tuhan
Worst era in the league … such skill also can be champions …
Roy Keane as world class? What a joke
@@jHJHJjHidie look at what he won in his career
for me this was the greatest rivalry in english football..no oil money involved
@Adrian Nicholson Its bigger but I cant think of a matchup better than Keane vs Vieira
@Adrian Nicholson liverpool won 1 title in 30 years..they were never a rival back then
@Adrian Nicholson no way
The attitude era of the Premier League
Patrick Veira was a world class Dm at his era👏
That Scholes tackle on Viera in first few minutes would be red card today!! Lol
Not surprised that after receiving two rough tackles from Scholes,Vieira became actually first man of the match being booked. All respect to united team and fan base but they were clearly referees favourites in that period.
Then old Trafford sing “Same old Arsenal, always cheating” 😂😂 deluded fan base those mancs
You sound like Martin Keown. Such a delusional bunch. When you got helped you didn't ever acknowledge it & you overraggerated what went against you because you just had that built-in hatred. So many examples but you get 2 offside goals in a potential title decider vs ManUtd funnily enough same season as this and you moan about a sending off near the end for a stupid elbow by SolCampbell which can't really be complained about AFTER Henry's offside brace?? Typical...and his 2nd was an absolutely terrible decision no excuses.
Martin Keown also said he tried to intervene Ferguson complaining but Ferguson didn't do it to gain unfair advantages there was always a justified reason unlike Wenger & his team who would just do it willy nilly, there shouldn't have even been a cup replay in the 98/99 semi's because the decision Ferguson was complaining about was a ridiculous offside that made RoyKeane's legitimate winning goal it wouldn't been, ruled out.
The likes of you just has selective memory or you just want to gaslight people into believing your lame excuses as to why your team weren't as good as ManUtd.
How I wish I could go back to 2002/03
We all wish you could go back to 2003,,,😊
by Gooner.
People forget how good viera was probably one of the best ever complete midfielder from the premier league
Horrible spitting c%#t
Yeah and he won 6 ChampionsLeague's didn't he....oh wait a minute no, unlike many players that people actually rate highly, Vieira never even got past ChampionsLeague quarterfinals for any club 😂
@@FootkerSnookballAnd keane won a World Cup? 😂😂😂 This ain't about trophies mate, Vieira was the better player
@jeremiahalphonso3536 And Vieira would've won the same number of international honours as Keane if he'd represented his real nation Senegal.
Keane thrashed Vieira in a game 6-1 which is a similar thrashing as his PL title's comparison. Vieira never thrashed Keane like that. As I said, Vieira never reached a CL semi-final while Keane scored in multiple CL semi-finals. RobbieSavage could've won honours with France in the squad they had with the likes of Zidane etc...but Vieira still had an appalling WC2002 (well actually if he was trying to help his real nation Senegal then he had a good one).
@@FootkerSnookball Keane didn't trash Vieira , united trashed arsenal, because United were the better team , but dont go acting like united wouldnt have won all those trophies with Vieira instead of Keane, if youre unbiased youd know that vieira was a better player in every aspect
At that time we used to watch football until money has decided to rule the world of football
This is just nostalgia. Money has decided the world of football since decades.
You thought cr7 was free he was the most expansive teenager at that time. And beckham i dont even have to explain.
Bayern munich, Real madrid, Milan dominate their since 70s through money. They steal the really good Players from lower placed teams since ever.
it always was my friend it always was
Money's been Ruling since Maradona Days lmao. It took Wenger a lot of time to build a team due to lack of owners interest in winning Crucial , now a days you can't be given 10 years at to build a team. It's considered as a failure.
Back then when Arsenal was Arsenal
Yeah, full of foreigners
Another United racist
That rivalry was so good
Wow vieira what a player one on greatest mids the prem has witnessed
keane was miles clear
@@liamkearns7224 ur deluded
@@liamkearns7224 lol, with similar playstyle, even Makelele was better than Keane
Vieira was destroyer, commander of midfield on either defense and offense, Keane was really gifted he play alongside better attacking minded midfield like Scholes and Beckam that made his job simpler to focus solely on D
Best football I see in my life wasthe time when these guys play! Miss this true football rivalry😞
Jesus, this is 20 years ago...
Where has the time gone?
A brilliant era of football. Just look at the players on the field pure class and all hard working lads.Great to watch.
It's 10 years after Class of 92 has been graduade.
💪🏼
Arsenal was full of legends that time.... sad
Great game to watch ! proper tackles and great refereeing - John Motson iconic commentator 👌
Commentator reminds me of Fifa 2004 game. I play that old game sometimes & this video commentary with his dialogues are so accurate.
I think this was the game which Sir Alex kicked the boot that hit Beckham.
Exactly, it was the match at halftime
Big Patrick was immense that day.
I’m just in awe at how well Utd pressed. Everyone defended, pressed & worked hard off the ball. Unlike the Utd of today.
god i don't miss united having every ref in their pocket
I really miss that era!! EPL, Serie-A,Laliga,too many interesting players with his own charisma in there
Two top Premier League teams with real characters.
Wow what a player he was!!!! Silky smooth touches👏👏👏
What a baller Vieira was 🎉❤
LEGENDARY
When football players and teams were actually good not like the shit we have to watch now
Yup. I feel players had naturally higher IQs and more saviness from having to develop their own styles organically. Many of today's players are copy and paste due to an overload of video footage through technology. Original players can be spotted from miles off. 90s and mid 2000s was the era of the #10s and an abundance of beautifully weighted through balls to open defences. Now teams play a 4-3-3 just to pump balls into the box from wide areas or cut backs. And don't get me started on coaching... so rigid and an overuse on specific tactics. Players are robots.
I can't believe as a lifelong fan, and somebody who has coached at a high level in Europe I would say this... but 90 minutes of modern football can be an absolute drag. So much possession with no intent. So safe. When Messi retires it truly will be the end of an entire era.
@@aigamisoumalaka990 One of the most perceptive posts on modern football I have read - 100% agree - bores me to death now
I think the money has ruined the games aswell there’s a lot of young players who are muliti millionaires before they turn 20, the managers nowadays can’t even shout at a player because they are scared the player turns other players against him and he gets the sack, the players have all the power these days not the managers. A good example is when kepa got subbed and refused to come off, I thought that was disgusting could you imagine a player doing that to sir Alex or Brian clough.
@@jimmorrison1685 what? Mancity in pep era would beat those teams easily. Dirty play and tacticless
@@Opah4793 you are at the wind up 😂 the Arsenal and Man Utd team then would smash any of the teams going about just now, your maybe not old enough to remember how good they were
By far the best rivalries.
This is the type of game we enjoy! Not now players fall by the slightest touch and cry like a baby who lost his bottle!
Two best centre midfielders the prem has seen.
Keanne couldn't lace Vieira boots
@@robertfrater3822 nonsense haha
so many legends in that tunnel. oh I miss the good ol day
This is what “getting together as a team”, “showing desire & passion”, etc what the current players of these teams talk about after ever loss, actually looks like!
Thanks for this great video bruh ❤️
People love to hype Bergkamp Adams and Henry but never really Vieira
The man literally covered the whole pitch in every game he played for Arsenal
When Arsenal lost him they never won the league again while Bergkamp and Henry were still at the club
2 minutes and the fight begin. Man, I miss this era 🤣
I loved this period of English football.
Man U nearly always had the edge on us.
But there was so much passion and love for their respective clubs.
Quality English football!!!!
Athleticism and passing set the teams apart. Arsenal mastered long range passing and took it to another level! Switching play in 1 ball like no other team ever!
Vieira comfortably won that midfield battle.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Rivalry’s don’t come much better than this
Time when there were dribbles , team tactics , build up play , Man to Man skills in premier league. Rn it's a low quality League gettin saved by City & Liverpool.
Veira dominating scholes and kean he was a great player
😂😂😂 the league titles beg to differ.. viera didn't win a champions league or 13 league titles..was carried in a french team in 1998
That was fully charged football way back then - passion, fights, desire to win, and not for money...Miss those games. Today, it's full of mercenaries.
Back then where 20 minutes we have 2 to 3 yellow cards for real faults... Now we have playera wif literally falling down under wind contacts...
The time when players had passion when they played football,i had more passion playing under 12s then some of these epl players that play these days, they should be ashamed of themselves getting all that money and only caring about posting tik tok videos absolute dissgrace
deluded nonsense, the commitment of players today is huge compared to the past. half these players would be in the pub every weekend
Good willing play.
Great video, thanks! Have you got any footage of Arsenal Vs Valencia 2001/2002 , where Ray Parlour scored the winner?!
Thanks. Unfortunately uefa block UCL games
Estos dos se daban sus madrazos cada tres días
How have we come from Viera and Keane to Lingardinho now ?
Respect Lingardinho top player.
Football is good now, but it was alot better then. I miss these years of the EPL, La Liga, and the Italian Serie A
an old arsenal game is far better to watch than the current rubbish they display on the pitch
Same as United
John Motson was a awesome commentator
Hearing John motson is nostalgic
A team from London was playing football while the team from Manchester was busy play Kung-Fu 😅😂😂
With his long legs how did he manage to move that smoothly. Classy. I never noticed this when I saw him play.
in terms of football ability vieira was so clear
Ik this game shows it
two completely different styles, Viera's style was better on the eye to most (more technically gifted) but both equally effective in their roles. As much as i hated and still hate Man U. Keane was top class too.
This was the worst version of Keane in his Manchester United career. He had just returned from his hip injury where had an operation.
He was even much better towards the end of his career 2 year later when he was immense in highbury in the 4-2 win and the FA Cup final where United lost on penalties having battered Arsenal for most of the game.
Yep, and 1of the only other times Vieira got the better of Keane was also when Keane was injured all season 97/98 lol
Vieira vs Keans is biggest rivalry in footbal. Its bigger than the rivalry between CR7 vs Messi10.
Patrick plays way much better than the oppsite DMs!
0:37, that is EPL football at its best and its heights. Every single player on the pitch is going there. Nowadays is like one down injured even his own teamates doesnt care.
Just imagine if Keane and Vieira had been in the same team. Wow what a combination. Keane could have sat a little deeper with Vieira a little further forward. Trouble would be which one would be captain?
2 armbands for each other 🤣
Nowadays getting into the top 4 is a success for these 2 giants of the English game
Keano adjusting the wedding tackle at the start. 😄
Why can’t we have this type of football again, damn it
The Little 10stone Keane 😂😂
@davidpimblett3573
Wouldn't be surprised if he still weighed more than lanky Vieira who was Arsenal's "hardman" diving spitting moaning player who never made it past the quarterfinal of ChampionsLeague for any club lol Keane scored in multiple CL semi-finals and obviously won the competition.
Definitely one of Vieira's best matches at old trafford this! Great performance.

Patrick Vieira strong
Two of the best ever teams in England.
I don't think kids of today can play like this ..,there's much physic
Aresnal were a great team but Keane was a great passer.
Vera was better than any man u midfielder ever
Who is Vera??
Patrick viera
@@josephinemensah4352 who is viera?
@davidvarey5072
Yet could never make it past the ChampionsLeague quarterfinal in his whole career 🤫
From a golden era...sigh 😔😔😔
Pure leader Keano. No messing about even his off days was 100percent and rarely had a bad game. World class player, smooth operator! United legend, Irish legend!!
Watch Keane from 4:12. Great running and covering the danger.
Back when all players worked there arse off and give a high work rate, not like pogba who just doesnt want to fecking work
O viera era muito diferenciado
How on earth Roy Keane was comparable to Viera.. an angry man and a world class man. No way
Banal referee added to the situation
Shame there is no more rivalry in the prem
All the Referees back in the days were Man united fans🎉
This is the game where Ferguson threw the boot at Beckham I think.
good old days
When football had something called rivalry
สุดยอดทีมยุค90
Ohhh ohh keaneooo 🇬🇧
When men were men. Now the rivalries are only among the fans.
Вот раньше футбол был
Probably the two best DM and leaders the premier league will ever see . I wonder could the two of them played together or would they have got in each other’s way ,? Possibly not they would have adapted to each other., and now we have Party and Xhaka 😱😱 I’d take Parlour, Gilberto , Edu , Richardson, Thomas and Davis over either of these .
Partey has been shit man.
Annoying stop start. Understood copy right. but thanks love the memories
What a chaotic football back then 🤭
Viera makes keane look like jordan henderson
Lol
Football isn't the same anymore
Where was the second goal🤔🤔
When all that matters is football
I'm black & appreciated SCHOLES & ROY . No one could mess with them in the field even in terms of playing tough .
