Wanted to let you all know I tried this drone out another time and location after this initial test with the same results, toilet bowling, follow me mode turned 180° and flew itself until it crashed. Extremely durable drone but not easily usable or controlled.
Good call! All drones will let you know if something is wrong. Circling like that is ALWAYS a RED FLAG. All beginners take note!
Just got the Snaptain SP7100 followed the instructions and it worked flawlessly
Wow, I just tested this drone like a week ago and had the same problems. Snaptain even sent me another after the first one went crazy. Good to get this info out to the public.
I was considering buying snaptain SP7100 but now opting for potensic brand, do u think I made a good choice or should stick with snaptain as far price and beginner trial?
Thanks for this, This is the last thing new beginners need for their start up in this hobby, I was looking at this but purchased the Snaptain SP500 instead and on a few occasions it has been perfect so far.
I bought this thing and I must say that my mother in law is easier to control than this snaptain SP7100. After adjusting the compass and setting everything up I can make the flight, once I make a turn it goes crazy and it is no longer possible to land it always ends up crashing. In one of those sudden falls, the engine on the left rear side jammed until smoke came out with a bad smell of burnt electronic parts. In fact, yes, it burned something inside. I bought a used one and replaced the card that controls the engines. Everything works fine. It just goes crazy once it's in flight and I want to make a turn. It has some parts glued with black adhesive tape.
Thanks for your feedback! The quality control on these seems to be a bit shotty from multiple claims I have heard. No excuse for this especially for the price point.

Fixed my sp7100 by opening it up and covered both GPS module and compass with the barrier tape that was covering just part of the modules mine stopped toilet bowl and holds great hover and response of drone from controller

@@edrone_ I'll bet all the sp7100s have the same lack of coverage of the modules because of the back one not being covered and isolated from the chips that set directly under it thus getting feedback from the other components and setting up some kind of feedback loop
After having purchased a new, sealed one off of ebay, I decided I needed a new spare battery to have for additional flying time, but after trying my hardest to locate one ( even Snaptain) I gave up. So, bottom line, if the original battery becomes a dud, so will the drone, as NOBODY sells a replacement battery. It becomes another throw away to add to the landfill.
That's a shame as well. I believe the company abandoned this product as the issues were too many.

I just bought this drone and it does the same toilet bowling but because I’m a novice it ended up crashing. Customer service wants video proof but so far I don’t have a second camera and person to record it for me. Would I get better results if I take it off the Beginner mode? Or turn off the GPS entirely ? Thanks.
how do you watch any video or pictures from a micro sd card. My computer keeps wanting to format the card when I put it into my computer even though the card was already formatted.
Ithink the props are to small and narrow, that makes it less stable but make it fly longer

I flew this for the first time today and I just assumed I was bad at flying. I have practiced with other snaptain drones so I'm not a beginner, but far from a pro. I had a ridiculous toilet bowl and had no control. Another flight and it literally did a B line straight away from me and never turned back. I found it a half hour later blocks away from the park by a random house.

Wow! Just wow!
Premium look and feel doesn’t mean anything if it can’t fly properly. That is sad, because I loved how nice the presentation was, and the appearance of the drone itself. That toilet bowl effect and unreliable gps is a dangerous.

I've been told by a few owners that the circuit boards are missing some mounting screws & that's causing the problems with the SP7100
Thanks for the information 👍 My friend Md95tsi took it apart and also found the shielding for the GPS and compass was not in the correct position causing some interference as well

That was some mad Toilet bowling Erik, not good, i had a few GPS quads a couple months ago do that in my reviews which i didn't recommend either
I have noticed you told someone in your replies. That they are fixing the issues, but that was a 1 year old comment. Have you flown any of these models since then? I’m a beginner, do you recommend I get one with gps and all that fancy stuff?
Im not the edrone guy but i think you should get the dji mini se instead, it flies better, better camera quality, longer flight time, and video stabilization, it is also about the same price as the sp7100, i dont know if they have fixed it yet but i wouldnt take the risk

HO.LY GRAP 300.00 I bought a DJI MAVRIC AIR COMBO only had 13 flights on it fly great. Take a look on Ebay alot of people are selling there MAVRI AIR (PRO) Really cheap to get the mini 1-2
This isn’t just your unit. Mine crashed and snapped an arm off a couple hours ago. It was about 100 ft up and started doing the “toilet bowl” thing you mentioned, but doing GIANT circles and really fast... The battery ran low and it went into auto return home, which triggered the giant toilet bowl. Once the battery gets low you can’t take it out of return home mode. The thing was doomed once the battery got low. I’m very disappointed and pretty pissed.

@@edrone_ So I ended up getting a replacement for the one that broke (same model) from Snaptain. The SAME EXACT THING happened again, only this time I only had it 6 feet off the ground. Same result (toilet bowl then crash) only less severe. I've contacted Snaptain about a refund. Fingers crossed!
Very disappointing. Great review. I love my Snaptain SP500, but this one doesnt look good at all. Hope they fix the issues with this drone.
I think I never took the Gunship out of beginner mode😄😄😄 it never went higher then 394 feet

GOOD SUMMARY, flying is the most important thing and it fails that test big time
If you need to fix the issue like I did, it might help
The problem is in your calibration you were spinning your entire body but your only supposed to spin the drone by itself with your hands
Does not matter if you spin with the drone I have tried Calibration with just spinning the drone with my hands and no difference there is a quality controller issue with the compass emu shielding placement
@@edrone_ there are other videos posted of spinning with the hands and they had no toilet bowl issue but I dunno 🤔 well I guess I’ll find out when I get a used one on eBay lol 😂
@@Captgreatvalue some models had no issue with the shielding placement while others did. Mine was taken apart and you can see the issues
@@edrone_ dang well let me if the one I ordered has that problem what’s the best way to fly it? With or with out gps? Or should I just return it and try for another one I refuse to pay the new price. I appreciate your quick response brother

my had erratic flying while in GPS mode and I couldn't ever figure out what the hell the problem was

Holy Stone 720E has the same problem. Lots of bad ones out there.
I mean all you have to do is watch it fly what are they expect you use CGI to make it look like the drone performed properly LOL. Instead of getting mad about these things when they get bad reviews they should just fix the issues and learn from it because if they sell enough drones that fly like that they're going to be out of business pretty quick anyway

Great job, just not a good drone. I thought it was my new iPhone causing problems and now know it’s the drone. SnapTain needs to scrap it and fine another drone.
Yeah I was very disappointed because it looks and feels very nice. I was hopeful but ultimately extremely let down.

I crashed today , nothing is happend but why is the drone getting out of control when you push the home landing button . I think i lost control because of the low battery but that was deamn scary . I hope this happens not again . When i turn of the gps mode , i hope
The flight controller is getting interference from not being properly assembled and shielding applied check Md95tsi channel on yotube for fix

I review products as they perform out of the box and I have had several people reach out and tell me that they are having similiar issues. Trust me I was hoping for a good review. Snaptain is aware of the issues and is working on isolating the problem in production.

Looks like it's very cloudy. Could it be that's why the GPS is not working?
Satellites were ok that day and time I double checked. I believe mine has a issue

@Oz-242 yeah that's weird. That's a shame. I guess it's really just hit and miss with the GPS modules used and the way they are shielded from quality control.

What is the WiFi band . Flying there by them homes probably interference. strong WiFi from the houses in the sub your flying around.

The issue was with the GPS itself snaptain found the problem and corrected the issue in production. I've flown other wifi models out here with no issues good thinking though the 7100 does use 2.4 for control link

I just had mine and crashed too. I contacted snaptain and haven't gotten a response. Got it March 25th and here May 3rd and crashed yesterday. It was just hovering taking video of us waving and it just dropped from like 50 ft on asphalt and messed up the arm.

GPS chip is loose
QC needs improvement.
I'm at 8:35 and it's floating all over the place
Definitely something wrong with mine no doubt, I do worry about other units possibly getting into the hands of beginners which will be a huge let down. I'm not sure how many other units are defective?
