I just purchased this thing. Have flown real planes. Done simulators on single rotor choppers. But this is going to be a challenge. Glad there are people like you to put out videos like this so people like me have a starting point to minimize testing errors. However, I would have liked to have seen the initial set up of the app. installation and perhaps how one submits a warranty on FB. Because damn if I can figure the latter part out. Not looking forward to having to calibrate this every single time one wants to use it. And while I have NEVER operated a drone before, I agree that the 1 included battery vs 2 or more for the short flight time is a huge downside. 2.5 hours of charge for only 15 minutes of flight time is excessively short between charges. A 2nd battery will have to be ordered as soon as I figure out if I have the patience for pre-flight calibrations. As for registering it, not sure on how to go about that as well.

First off, Great review! You covered everything. I have one as well and I love mine! Fantastic price for a drone like this one. Anyone wanting a beginner Drone, I'd highly recommend this one. Also I messaged Snaptain about there being extra batteries in the future and there will be, so I'm excited about that. I'll be getting a few when they come up. I really like how you can actually control the camera. I have another Snaptain Drone, the SP600. I bought that one first. Another fantastic Drone. Though I do like the SP510 this one being reviewed a bit better. More options is why, and the SP600 had two batteries, each lasting 15 minutes. Plus you can buy extras as well. I believe Snaptain puts together very good and very affordable Drones. So far so good.
Again, fantastic review. If I had my own company I definitely would have you review my products.

Great review! Some might say you go through the points to fast but it was just right for me; some reviewers simply talk too much. Jotted down important points and then will review in the manual and actually flying the drone. The only down side; when you talked about what button or what control you were using (as in pushing this way or that) it wasn't shown in the video. It would be helpful if you did a closeup of control use when not actually flying the drone. I'm sure the manual will show me how to link the phone/control/drone but actual video would help.
I am buying this drone over the sp700 because of the rotating camera on the sp510; if they had that on the 700 I would have had it and the brushless motors!

There is a scroll wheel on the top corner on the controller that will rotate camera. Gps make sure your device is 5G wifi equipped. Drone must be outside with clear sky to locate GPS satellites.

@@Orcinus1967 the device needs to have 5g wifi. Most newer phones have that. 4g phones will work too just has to have 5g wifi band.

I liked seeing the FPV in your videos like you did with the SP500. Much more informative as to height & distance and LATENCY... if it's not frozen. Did the FPV remain ok for how far away? Thanks for making and sharing
Fpv was fine normal lag as most wifi toy quadcopters but totally flyable.
How is it in a 10-15 mph light breeze?
Light breeze is ok anything over 15 mph I would not recommend flying.
Why when I turn it on mine it fly it goes up in moves buy it self . I don’t move it on controller I seen that on your video you pick it up in stayed same spot
Make sure your in gps mode and that you have done all your calibrations before takeoff

If you turn off mobile data dont you lose the view of any maps?
Try to load the maps 1st then shut off your data it's recommended in the instruction manual to turn off your data while flying the drone
Heya, I recently purchased this drone and I’ve been having a weird glitch.
On the app it claims that the drone is full battery the entire flight; if I check the drone it states the true battery power. On the app it’s always stuck at 100% and this worries me considering the fact that I have no idea what battery power my drone is when it’s up in the air; Any ideas?
I would set a timer or try deleting the app and reinstalling

I like the review unfortunately wish you had some troubleshooting steps and when I turn my controllers inside the drone never starts. No clue why. You should probably also mention there website and support sucks.
I would try and reach out to the support again im sure with everything going on right now they may not be operating at full capacity. You may not be able to fly indoors because of the gps signal not locking.
@@edrone_ I've had excellent results from support@snaptain. If you think you haven't received a reply, look in you email spam folder. Their first communique usually winds up there until you mark "not spam".
When trying to fly it says “unlock to take off”. How does one unlock their drone??
Check in the instructions you have a certain stick movement you have to input before the drone will arm

It will go up to 120 meters or 393 meters i did not go that high i went about 200 feet high video was fine
I flew mines twice. But it did not have video of flight on my phone. How do I fix that
You will have to go into the app settings and make sure you have the cache set to local recording

Even if it was under the 250 gram mark, I’d probably register it anyway just to be in the safe side.

The device needs to have 5g wifi. You can use a 4g phone as long as it has 5g wifi capabilities.

Only thing I would say is it’s not a toy grade
Most of the time the grade I use is based on the motors. Brushless motors usually makes the difference for me. Brushed are closer to that of a toy grade quadcopter.

If you get the box material wrong it's going to be a poor to misleading review. A parting downward thumb and brief comment. Moving on to the next review after less than a minute. Look up Captain Drones channel for superb quality honest impartial reviews.
