- One of the best endings of a movie in modern cinema. This movie instantly became one of my favorites. Deakins definitely outbid Malick's way of interpretation and along with the cast and crew did something incredible. This was one of the movies that would either bore you or amaze you.

Bob was the true tragic figure of the story
He was just a lost kid. No future.
I have seen this movie probably 12 times and this scene always gives me goosebumps… perfect film
I perfectly agree with you, this is a masterpiece, everything about this film is amazing, fantastic movie, no doubt
same
This ending is perfection.
This whole final piece of the film…. The movie was already amazing. But to wrap it up like this.
“I was surprised what happened….. they didn’t applaud.” The most human western ever made imo. Easily in my top three films of all time.
Me as well.
1 The Deer Hunter
2 The Assassination......
3 The Wall
@@charlesc.6555 the wall seems to jog something in my memory but I’ll have to check it out *edit* OH YEAH!!! That was a killer flick, 2013, can’t believe it’s been ten years.
@@charlesc.6555 you dont have shawshank in there, that's criminal hehe
@@charlesc.6555 I can never pick a top three it's impossible, but you obviously have a fav genre and all great movies
The music by Nick Cave is so good! I love "What Must Be Done", when the credits start rolling. So good!
Falling by nick cave gives me chills. I feel the worst is to come when that plays
The whole track!
"THERE WOULD BE NO EULOGY FOR BOB" those words speak volumes to me because as history marched on and the fame and myth of Jesse James grew bob and his brother became footnotes in history Bob being remember only as the man who shot Jesse James
As far as perfection goes this movie is it. Such a sad thing that it wasn't recognized then and by everyone. Hollywood spits out so many forgettable garbage movies and occasionally they manage to slip out a true and remarkable movie that is mesmerizing and haunting for how perfect it is.
I think the pacing of the movie was a little off, i consider it a brilliant movie but if i were to point a flaw it would be the pacing. masterpiece though none the less.
You have your eulogy now, Bob.
Well said.
Rip Jesse James
A long awaited one.
One of the best film and beautiful soundtrack ! "Hello, Bob... "
Even the pushing away of that liquor bottle was poetry !
That caught my eye too. I cannot put in words why, but it was just brilliant.
The narration and music are just perfect.
"But Robert Ford would only lay on the floor and look at the ceiling, the light going out of his eyes, before he could find the right words ..."
Such beautiful writing, very haunting. You can feel the sadness, in his last moments Bob must've felt deep guilt and regret for what he did.
And depicted so perfectly by this narrator.
What a film!
the narrator seemingly ending a sentence suddenly as rob dies is just brilliant. not even the narration could find the right words
Superb performance by Mr Affleck, even Zoey makes an effort. A true 10/10 movie.
i fail to understand why did this movie not get any academy awards........it had some of the best dialogues............i am also surprised like Bob here, they didn't applaud........😢😢
I think it was released the same year as No country for old men,There will be blood and Michael Clayton. That's a tough competition
An all-too-often overlooked masterpiece of 21st century cinema.
It feels like the final say on the western genre and despite being a period piece, it’s examination of celebrity worship and obsession feels increasingly relevant as the years go by.
Casey Affleck has had a lot of amazing moments in his career but this performance is by far my favourite and he plays off Brad Pitt so well.
The debate at the Oscar’s during this time was between There Will Be Blood & No Country for Old Men but this movie blows both of them out of the water.
Andrew Dominik is such powerhouse of a director and all four of his movies are the highest form of cinema to me. Truly a director who strives for nothing less than perfection in all aspects of the filmmaking process.
Love this movie
It is SHAMEFUL that this film is so unknown. I is a masterpiece...The Godfather of westerns and only a few people have seen it. It was a box office bomb and received only one Oscar nom when it deserved them all.
It received 2. One for best supporting actor and one for cinematography.
@@richie9308 deserved Best Actor, Best Picture, Best Adaptation, Best Sound Design and Best Music at the very least.
It is obvious to me that Ford was not doing too badly when he was killed. He ran a saloon, had a apartment, wore good clothes and looked decent. The reward money was not that much and he worked himself up into the financial situation he was in at the time of his death.
This sound 😢🥺
In those for whom youth has not already bared foolishness, vainglory is sure to settle up.
She seems a good person. That's another aspect of his tragedy. He didn't have the chance to marry and settle down, to have a family. Jesse's manipulations stole his future with all its possibilities.
i recommend an honest reassessment of this movie by the academy award members......they should award casey affleck as the best supporting actor for this movie instead of the nomination that they gave.........it was the most riveting performance by an actor
A great film.
Casey affleck est un très beau et bon acteur 🦁😘⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👏🌷🌼🌻🌲🌳👍
I always believe this movie could have been better with more action in it but it just tells a story still good
No doubt
Anyone can make an action movie, but to choose to reach a depth of human emotion, like this movie did was amazing, you can relate to all characters, really made it a human condition kinds movie. I loved it
There's enough action movies, this film isn't about action, at it's core. it's perfect the way it is, imo.
You sound like the Warner Bros exec who sabotaged the movie because there wasn't enough action in the film.
Hello bob!!!!!!
0:22 What is that line?: “What a word of mine”? I can’t clearly hear it
“And the reward money”
1:43 can anyone tell me what is written on the window
Looks like "Get out of town"
I wanna be a cowboy
1234😂😂😂😂
How convenient that in the 1800s we could just discuss a murder with a lover.
Life was so much more simpler
Liar's y'all cowards to
