Joe tells the Norm Airplane/smoking story all the time and he never realizes Norm was totally messing with him. Even after Colin Quinn and Tom Green (who knew Norm more than Joe) both told him that it was a total set up, Joe says he doesn't think so...he just can't imagine that Norm was working on that level. But Norm fans know.

I've heard Rogan tell that Norm plane story at least ten times, Tom was the first one who knew it was a bit. Norm committed to bits so hard he never winked.
as a smoker I could totally see myself telling someone how great it was that I quit smoking, then run to the smoke shop after hours stuck in a metal tube. An after a long flight cig is the best you'll ever have.
But yeah joe needs to retire that story

Norm’s perspectives, storytelling, and jokes weren’t just hilarious, I found them also to be comforting in a way. ❤️
It's so true. There was a silliness to him, and he applied it to any dark or messed up concept as casually as he would anything. Comforting is a good word for that
I saw Norm at the 7-11 by my house in San Pedro. I said "Hey Norm" and he just looked at me like I was an idiot.

Norm is my all time favorite. He was just a funny person through and through, and such a quick wit.

I love Norm MacDonald one of the greatest of all time. I also love Tom Green dude is hilarious and very underappreciated. I watched this podcast twice and Joe treated Tom Green like a jerkoff about the last 70% of the Pod. Not sure what was up Joe''s ass but I think the negativity Tom got here is why he quit comedy and sold his house in LA and moved back to Canada. Recently Tom has started doing comedy again and I'm happy to see it. Tom should stick with east coast and canada because LA and Austin are where horrible comics go to sell out and make money.

this guy...this comedian was there for me. I had my darkest period beyond explanation and the only thing i could hang on too was norm clips and my cat. im ok now but jesus christ norm was there for me.

My favourite thing about Norm was the SNL weekend update. He would just say the raunchiest joke ever and pause. The show didn’t go on till he got a laugh.

Norm and Joe worked in the same profession, knew the same people, lived in the same city, and the only time Norm apparently ever interacted with Joe was twice by sheer accident, unable to escape.
Norm is maybe my favorite comedian ever. The dude was the king. His delivery was and still is unmatched. I mean he would tell jokes that were just straight up. Not funny. But it worked. Because it was Norm. The Moth Joke is a perfect example. Nobody else could tell that joke. Nobody.
