I remember learning these techniques in studio back in 1995 (yes, I'm old, lol). We used to call this slaving the cameras together, where the Time code for your main camera was fed via BNC cable to the others. We weren't capable of nonlinear yet, so that made a HUGE difference when it came.
Oh wow I’d love to learn it the old way. It sounds like a lot of work but fun to have tried
This is like the perfect, simple explanation for something that could easily get really complicated. 😎
Awww thanks friend!
You are an underrated CZcamsr. You deserves far more Subscribers .
Thanks so much. We’re on our way :)
important trick. Helped me a lot in filming concerts with many cameras and different people filming. Perfect tutorial. You can also hop into a big sequence where all the video lanes are on top and edit individually.
LILA, YOU GODDESS!!! Thank you for this. I was JUST getting ready to go out do to my first pro multi-cam shoot and have had the edit process in the back of my mind all night and then your vid pops up. Thank you MASSIVELY for this quick and perfect explanation. Wish I was in Europe to buy you a coffee!!!☕
Hahaaaaaaa I love this comment! You’re so welcome 🤗
I've always been lazy and never used multicam editing. Then I found your video, easy, short and accurate and you changed my mind. Thanks for that - new subscriber from Italy :)
Lila! I am always so thankful for your videos. Concise, to the point, always informative, thank you!
thank u so much omg i was about to rip my hair off from trying to sync a bunch of videos to the audio
this was so helpful and easily understandable :)
I'm actually filming an interview tomorrow with 2 cameras, so this is super handy to know! 😃
Thank you Lila! 👏
Ah nice! Have a good time!
omfg i am a new person after 10 years doing videos!
thank you ! i just finished a music live session project! because of you THAAANKS!
Dope video! And I’m officially in love with you cause of the metallica shirt 😭😭😭
😂👌🏻
I can't find the answer- what is the shortcut to change the AUDIO angle only?
Thank you !!! This was something I didn't even know existed in Premiere
The more you know 😄
When I use multicam with my 3 GoPro cameras (all identical settings), one of them is always lagging (video) behind. When I use the 3 cameras stacked on the timeline (not multicam) the timing is correct. I can’t figure out why. Any ideas? Thanks for your great videos!
the rolling edit tool u can just simply hold CTRL while you are in select tool (V), then hover to the center of the cut and u will see the rolling edit tool
love your tutorials, thank you. Mine is 2 cameras. Top row #1 and 2 will switch cameras but stops playback. 1 and 2 on numeric pad moves cursor to end of timeline.
Clean and simple. This is what all how-to videos should look like. Thank you!
Thank you so much Lila for these clear and easy to follow tutorials! These videos are real gems. Honestly, you make some of the best video editing tutorials I've ever seen. Now I just gotta figure out how to reproduce this method in DaVinci Resolve haha! 😆
And as always, I love the cat subscribe animation, it's so cute! 🐈
Haha thank you so much!
Straightforward and insightful
ok. so I have 3 sources of audio - boom, lav 1, lav 2 and 2 cameras with about 35 takes. Will this technique work for me ?
So awesome channel and nice teaching. Fan here from Colombia 🇨🇴 🎉❤
i come back to this video every time i need to edit multi cam. as long as I can't retain the technique, I will keep giving you more views. Thanks for the great tutorial
haha thanks for the views
BRILLIANT, funny, creative and I wished I'd watched this before starting to edit my first multi-cam. All Good. Thanks so much and Subscribed!
Oh wow! I didn't know this, and when I tried to edit multi-cam, it was so labor intensive I had to drop it; thanks!
Lila, I'm always looking for great filming tips, just like this one here. Thanks!
🙏🏻
I’ve always wanted to try multi cam in my videos but I wouldn’t know how to get it into travel vlogs? I’m still learning with each video I make and slowly growing which is all positive! Congrats on your channel becoming sooo huge Lila
Thanks Dan! I wouldn’t recommend this workflow when editing travel vlogs unless you’re filming with multiple cameras at the same time and have audio to sync those shots with. Otherwise, I’d just say to edit it the usual way
@@lilafromyoutube yea I’ve just always liked the multi cam! I’ll just keep doing it as I am untill I do some food taste test or something
Thanks Lila! Helpful :))))
I love the multi-cam view! Great job, Lila! You always make the complex seem easy and attainable. :)
Thanks chris!!
Appreciate the explanation on how to do this! If you might see this… a year after you posted it, how might one ‘color’ a B camera that doesn’t quite match the master shot? Would love to color one clip all at once.
Going to check out Detail, thanks!
They’re great and expanding fast - def check it out!
This is maybe THE most useful video i have ever seen, absolutely love it!
Short and to the point thanks lila, you deserve a sub
Great instruction!
Thanks!
I’ve wanted to know how to do this for so long! Until now I’ve still had to revert to final cut if I had to do multicam editing
Haha are you gonna try it out in premiere now?
@@lilafromyoutube you bet I am! One more step away from cutting the final cut cord now!
😎
I'm currently struggling using Multicam in Premiere Pro. Even in a recently tested strong desktop (Xeon, 64 gb Ram, RTX 3060 Ti 8 gb VRAM), playing back, cutting and selecting cameras in a 3 cam 2 audio recorder multicam secuence is a freaking nightmare! Super slow response (about 10 seconds to play when it doesn't forget to play, every time I make a cut this happens), the computer spec don't even go over 50%, laggy, unresponsive, and if I need to edit a 2 hour weeding documentary edit, it is total trash. Seeing forums, all they say is update and a bunch of weird workaround which are 7 years old and did not work, while updating solves some issues, you get new issues. All I want is Premiere to work, to do what is should. I think the UI, the functions and features are great as long as they worked properly. For the time being, let's try Davinci.
God bless you ma'am!
Thank u for the video
Hi!
Suppose you've created your multcam sequence. It's all ready, but then you think:
"Crap, I need to go in and fix that one little clip!".
It used to be that I could just click on the multicam sequence and open up each "camera" in order to correct something I missed.
I know I could do it with CC 2019. How do you do it now?
Best regards from Stockholm.
YES ! Am familiar with the Synchronize feature on Adobe locking up multi camera tracks through the, 'Mixdown' setting however am now trying to Synchronize a new 4 Cam Multi Camera Shoot to a Master Audio Track recorded previously but after I draw over the 4 independent tracks then right click on the group my Synchronize tab is GHOSTED!
Can you offer me a Solution?
Thank you for this lesson, but what if you don't start all the cameras at the same instant? How do you post edit to sync the timing??
You can use the synchronise option in premiere as long as all the audio sources have captured the same audio
that cable u used to transform your iphone as webcam works in s23 ultra too?
This changed my life! Thank You Lila!
It doesn't work for me. I have separate audios, for different characters, and different cameras, and it doesn't work this way :(
The "rolling edit tool" shortcut is "ctrl" Once you hover the cursor between 2 clips
Your content is unmatched. Learning so much ! Thank you
What is the best way to color grade before the Multicam?
Thank you Lila 😀
Thanks for watching!
Been doing Multicam edits for over a decade. But still got a good tip out of your video.
Thank you 🙏🏻
Haha I love when I’m able to still contribute a tiny bit to a creator’s workflow!
@@lilafromyoutube killed it 👍🏻
Loved the video, even 1 year later :) What did you use for the editing of this video? All the effects and animations? Thanks!
You're a guard angel.
wow this is a nice shortcut. thanks God bless U
Thank you! Can anyone help, I want to drop this sequence back into another sequence un-nested (Iost my 4k scaling with nested). Is this possible? Thanks in advance.
Oh my goodness! Exactly what I needed. Thank you so much for this tutorial.
Excuse me, dear.. If the videos used in the explanation are available to apply to them.. Thank you for your presence
Good job! Great Tutorial !!
Wish I would've known this existed a loooong time ago. Thanks for the easy to follow tutorial!
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Any tips for syncing and editing very long footage? Currently editing a teo and half our Musical Production video multicam.
It's been processing the audio for the past 10 minutes - interested in how Premiere will hold up on my not very awesome laptop!
Wow, I've been editing podcast for a year and I didn't know this. Killed it with this Lila
Thank sufyan!
Total n00b here, so let me just get this straight. As long as all the sources have audio, the edit app will automagically sync the sound tracks behind the curtain with no further input from the user? There's no need for example to have a sharp noise to show a spike on the many audio tracks? That's scary.... good scary, but still scary! Great intro, thanks.
Congrats on reaching 100k subs Lila :)
Thank you!! Lovely seeing you here
Thank you!
ahh this is amazing!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks again Lila!👊
👏🏻
Great video! Would appreciate a lot if you could help me with one question: I have my camera recording as camera 1 (but only records up to 12min so my 24min will be split into two videos) and camera 2 is from my cellphone, which records straight 24min.
Sooooo then when I put all of those 3 videos at multicam, will it work as camera 1 and 2 or it will actually bring one more camera 3?
I need to know in order to see if I choose the main audio from my camera or cellphone in order to have only 2 main cameras instead of 3 because of the split video.
Or perhaps would I have to edit the split video and put them 2 together before editing on multicam? However it would be lot more work to do, specially if I decide to record a longer video, my DSLR using magic lanter would split in even more videos to put them all together as one main video afterwards 😔
I hope it is not confusing you. Thanks a lot! 🙏
How do you change lumetri settings for clip? For some reason I can’t figure it out
Learned way more than just how to do multicam in this video! Thanks!
🙏🏻 I’m glad
Thanks a ton! Mam. 👏👏
Thank you soooooooo much. You saved me a lot of time! Wish I have watched this video before.
Haha well better sooner than later
Found your channel two weeks ago and the content is so great, I'm learning new things about Premiere that are going to speed up my workflow. Btw, you have a new boyfriend in Mexico!
I’m so glad to hear you find my channel helpful! Can’t have enough boyfriends lol
04:35 Thanks for the tutorial. Is there an AI out there that does these cuts for you? Thanks for any advice.
Hi I followed your steps exactly but I consistently get the same error message: could not synchronize clips from the current selection because a match could not be found. Please help. So frustrating.
Does every clip have the same audio?
@@lilafromyoutube yes, each clip is filming the same event.
What do I do if one of my cameras divided the long clip into multiple clips...but the other one didn't? So Camera 1 has 2 clips...Camera 2 has 1 clip? Not sure how to sync those in MultiCam.
Im in multicam view and I want to click each scene when recording but it doesn't switch (I don't see the red box on the screens I select, how do I fix this?
In Premiere Pro, does anyone here know how I could sync multiple take across two cameras? I have 6 ACAM clips and 6 BCAM clips. For this particular interview I had to start and stop the camera. Each angle has a corresponding camera pair. I'd like for each pair to be synced all in a single timeline. Trying to figure out an automated way...
I have the exact same t-shirt! great video!
It’s so comfi!!
@@lilafromyoutube YES!!!!
how mute is the audio cashew from cam 1 and cam 2 if we use a separate Sound? Thank u 🙏
Thank you for this. Though I’m having trouble rendering the multicam video….
how to color correct each clip after the multiple cam is set?
excellent! thank you!
Thank you
Very helpful video.
How to sync 2 cameras with 100+ clips from wedding to do multi cam edit?
You covered "capture cards" super fast... maybe touch on what they do. I need to go find out. Love your stuff and totally going to use this vid to help me with this process. THANKS!!!
Yeah - I didn't want to get into things that aren't relevant to the topic of this video (editing multicam) but i'll make sure to cover it when it's more relevant!
How add the color grade and if we want to scale or do any further edits on the main camera file so that we can see on the whole multicam seq?
This was so helpful! Thank you Lila!
Amazing! I wish i watched this video before filming lol I had to do it the hard way, but thank you for the post production advice! 🙏🏽
Haha now you know for next time 😁
Thanks👍
Love itttt
Thanks love!
Thank you soooooooo very much!!! God Bless and Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas!
Love this vid! Thanks!
You’re so welcome
Good stuff! Thank you Lila!
As usual Lila, you ROCK! Thank you 🙏🙏🤙🤙
🥹❤️
Such great info and this really was helpful, even for one that is used to editing with more than one camera. Awesome job!
Great video. It works well if you do not have multiple sequences from each camera. But if it is a long(ish) video of an hour or more with multiple sequences from each camera and an audio source, I prefer syncing it in PluralEyes first. I know it is expensive but I gotta do it for them clients. Lol!
Haha well in that case your clients are paying for it, right?? 🤓
@@lilafromyoutube Right. As long as I keep getting those edits, we are all good.
Always appreciate your videos. Thank you so much!
Thanks so much!
I don't know English Your video was comprehensible only with visuals🖤
How to change FADE transition in multicam?
Not CUT... i need FADE
Wow what an engaging video
Thanks mansoor!
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks!
That’s great!
The number pad does not work anymore for me in mutlicam editing.
Finally😭❤️❤️❤️
