I'm new to your channel the past 2 weeks, but I really enjoy watching your videos. You know your stuff and admit when you make a mistake. I hope you make videos for a long time.
I needed a saw to cut stone tiles for a backsplash. czcams.com/users/postUgkxfiuHoZJo3bgdVPFRxQ-iqPpfbEHl2cYt I thought for sure I was going to need to buy a "better" blade than the one that came with this machine. I was surprised to see that blade worked great. Buying this saw was cheaper than renting and allowed me to take my time on the project. I wrapped the tiles (front and back) with blue painters tape and drew my cut lines with a sharpie on the tape. I performed all of my cuts free hand and had no trouble cutting the tile straight. There is a guide you can use to help with cuts if you prefer. This was my first tile job and this saw made it easy.
I’m remodeling my bathroom and doing tile. Thank you for your demo. It will help.
Thank you! You are awesome! I always watch your videos. Im working in a tile company And i love learn about IT. Saludos from Nashville TN
I made it to the thank you's. You're welcome Isaac!
Great video.. I appreciate the knowledge. You are very professional. I appreciate the time you take and the thought you put into it.
Issac I respect you and love your videos but request that you wear a dust respirator whenever grinding tiles. I know you use a vacuum and wear eye protection but there is still fine micro porcelain/ceramic dust and gradually it will injure your lungs. I am a professional tile installer, bath kitchen remodeler and can spend hours into the late evening just watching your and many other tile masters and finished carpentry videos. Thank you.
Yess
You are the man Isaac, another great video
I'm not sure I've ever said this in a CZcams comment section, but dude you're awesome!
Thanks Isaac, love your videos and I learn so much.
Thanks Isaac. I'm an amaeur tiler in asmuch as I only tile my own homes and occasionally help tile friends and family projects. I've learned from you. I did my first mud pan with PVC liner in my current home. I've used the diamond kits from Lowes for holes in porcelain. it's a wet kit and wouldn't work for in place vertical tile as it glues a cup/guide to the tile and holds water. It worked for my purposes. It isn't built as sturdy as the dry saw you use but I'm sure it's a lot cheaper. Were I doing more tiling I'd consider one of those. But I'm soon 70 and don't see that much tile work in my future.
Honored to stick around. Thank you!
Of course we watch it through!! Lol You make great videos
Very useful tip to make that type of work! Thanks!
Thanks for this video, the foam template is the simple best Idea that works
Also for power outlets there is needed to cut a hole into the tiles. That 1st technique is very good, tried it and it works. Good work!
You are a great teacher!!
Your the best dude. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you for this video as I am fixing tiles in my kitchen
Thank you from Oregon, West Coast
I just wanted to say thanks for all your videos that helped with my bathroom remodel. First time tiling I learned a lot
From you and had to figure some things
On my own. I used a scrap tile drill a hole
In the center used for template to plunge
Cut the hole in the bottom goog tile. I tried
To angle cut the hole but I kept walking on the tile leaving deep Mark's. Thanks josh
Great video. Thanks for the help.
Hey Great information Guy!! Best Tip ever to start the hole saw at extreme angle ESPECIALLY WHEN WORKING ON A WALL, horrifying start until I watched this CZcams(CA) then the magic happened and then one prefect 1-3/8" hole!
Thanks Isaac! I just broke a tile doing it the wrong way. Now I'll be able to get it right 👍
The only video that actually helped !!!!!
Thanks for your expertise
Thanks for the video! Consider using double sided tape to temporarily hold your guide in place. I stole that idea from using templates with routers on wood...
Great video
Great job
Issac those tile you drilled were mortared down and set.
I have them crack every so often when drilling while setting.
My question to you is what is a good way to lessen the chance of cracking the tile when drilling them?
Awesome thanks for sharing
Sponge with water and some hole template to keep the hole saw in the same position. Water keeps the hole saw cool and the template keeps the correct position.
Thank you for everything
Thanks bud, I love too!
3:03 watch that wedding ring go right 'round.
Great job thanks.
What a huge help man. Thank you! Tile coach
Thanks for the video. You emphasized a lot about using a variable speed angle grinder, but you didn't mention the optimum speed to set for the cutting. I would also have liked for you to tell us where to get the diamond hole cutter that you used and of course the brand name. Thanks again.
What speed do you recommend? Thanks
What speed should you use for porcelain?
Which brand of the core bit you refer?
A little double stick tape is what I use , sand paper and rug gripper also works.
I did likes you doing in this video, the problem is very difficult to find the best quality of drill bit. Can you give me suggest the good product of the drillbit ?
how many holes you getting out of these bits?
Thank you!
Cheers m8, first of all I wanna commend ur channel, really good job. Now the question; I personally use Bosch bits and love them, but truth is that they are quite expensive (~80 bucks for 3,5 cm (1.37795 inches I guess :D)) How many holes do u usually cut before they wear off? And yeah, grinder speed is important until u hit that 3,5cm, everythin' smaller needs to go slower
Good job
I use a full one speed grinder for my core bits, but I don’t go over about 2” holes. Beyond that I just grind it out with a 4” blade. Tools availability in my local area is spotty, but I really want a superior and more versatile hole boring system.
A regular from Ethiopia 🙏🏿. I like everything although it's hard to find diamond a holesaw here in the market 😞😞
What setting/RPM should the grinder be at?
There's one use for Schluter board that's better than wedi.
I apologize for that outburst.
What is the difference between drilling the hole with a drill vs an angle grinder? I see a lot of guys who does counter too drill holes with the angle grinder, but not so much with tilers.
Angle grinder gives better control over sliding, and even at lowest RPM, it still twice faster than most of drills at high speed. With thickness of counter that speed is more notable.
Jack of all trades
Haha, you don't yap too much .. haha of course I hang in there til the end.
Coach, can you post the brand of the core bits you use in this video? Thank you.
Great
I think you're awesome too I wish you lived in Columbus Ohio you have my business 😃
ty
Thanks
Thank you. Hole for the showerhead. The pipe is 1/2 or 3/4 inch. Why does the hold need to be 1 3/8"?
Is a Variable Speed grinder necessary?
I just finished cutting a square hole for a shower head pipe using a dremmel with cut off wheels. I went through 6 wheels doing it but it was precise and the hole lined up perfectly. Unfortunately while setting the tile, it snapped right along two of the square corners of the cut diagonally. Not doing that again! Diamond wheel for me!!! Thanks!!!
What is the best bit for 1/4 inch holes
The 1/4" hole saws are the best imho..same exact thing in the video just smaller
You didnt share the speed setting to cut with but apart from that the video was on point
Put the guard on there brochacho, your fingers will thank you some day.
These bits are made to turn at 13000 rpm and less risk To run off.
You're welcome, welcome, and welcome.
Can you show drilling a hole in a tile on the wall? Or will that ever be necessary?
Drilling in vertical porcelain tile is necessary when installing grab bars in a pre-existing tiled shower. I now do not need a template due experience but do not rush this drilling and follow Isaac's advice, be patient and if you plan to install grab bars I suggest using Moen due they make special hardware sold separately which does not even require drilling into a stud. Many people do not know about these special Moen attachments which I know will always use. To use this hardware you drill a 1 1/4 inch hole. I have a variable speed grinder/polisher with water feed which I used for polishing tile edges but I will now consider using it for drilling porcelain. If you do not have a variable speed grinder you can drill using a variable speed normal drill without or with water using carbide coated key saw blades. To limit drill tip travel I start the hole using a carbide tip 1/8 or perhaps 3/16inch spade shape bit just to penetrate the porcelain glaze and change to the carbide tip larger bit, Be patient, I use water in a small bowl or sponge to kool the drill tip.
Man I have cut tile before many times but I keep cracking my 12x24 porcelain trying to cut out shower valve
my first time to know angle grinder can be used to cut tile with diamond hole saw。bow 。
How can i buy it
Id like to see you do that without glueing the tile down
Okay cowboy.
I am living Jamaica, how can I contracted for jobs.
hwats his name, i cant understand when he says his name
jabber lol :D
You don't mention anything about when you can drill, after the tile is mounted on the wall or before.
You're nice.
Not afraid of water.
Where are your PPE?
You're kidding right
Cutting from the back of the tile with an angle grinder and a regular 4" diamond blade is faster and cheaper. Round cuts look nicer though. The hole will get covered regardless.
yes, the tricks of the trade.....parrot billed nippers for ceramic tiles too (to fine tune the hole/cut
Way more professional to use a hole saw and its actually faster. Water is your friend.
@@1surfercross I disagree...most professionals here is their grinders...it's faster and just going to be covered up
@@1surfercross Hole saws take too long to cut through porcelain. 4" Diamond blade is faster, i've tested it out. Besides, It doesn't matter how it looks because it'll get covered up, so why waste time? It's all about preference. I only use hole saws with granite countertops which is something i don't usually do. Granite is too heavy for me. I'm a tile setter, not a granite guy.
@@justinofboulder Hmmm I guess I have more pride in my work.
Bla bla bla...
you really shouldn't wear a ring on your finger while working, especially with (rotating!) machines
