Seeing how quickly the trio took care of her it’s pretty clear Cho was just a big fish in a small pond.
She wasn't that big a fish. She was a coward who played her little game to tell herself she wasn't.
@@fredfry5100 How was she a coward? I’m not saying she was a strong vampire like Dracula but for what they relate in this video she managed to survive for a long period of time and it seems like she had enough power to make someone build her that fortress in the mountains LoL
Most of them were. I mean Godbrand was a fucking viking vampire and got killed by a human. None of them were close to the level of Dracula or even Alucard. Carmilla was only able to "defeat" Dracula because she manipulated Hector into helping her, had her entire guard helping, and took advantage while the three were storming the castle. Dracula already wanted death at this point, otherwise even then he could have killed her easily. Issac was able to take her out.
@@MauiWowieOwie Carmilla seemed really powerful though! Of course not enough to take Dracula down but she fought against an army and she had an epic ending! I think she was stronger than the other generals… Although her and Cho seemed to be a little bit stronger than the others. They were both my favorite along with Raman (although she didn’t do much I really liked her design)
I think Trevor and Alucard would have a much harder time dealing with her. Not that they couldn't, but Cho had a very bad match up against Sypha
This explains how Cho and the other generals died like they did. They lived for so long being invincible and unchallenged that it left them wildly out-of-practice. They never imagined that "livestock" would ever pose a real threat to them. When fighters like Trevor, Sypha, and Alucard showed up, their arrogance became their downfall.
That tends to be how it works out. Plus they are used to fighting against relatively normal humans. Trevor is a master vampire hunter whose spent his whole life fighting monsters, Sypha is a magician who can expertly control water/ice, fire and lighting and Alucard is...well...Alucard. Dracula's son with virtually all the same powers and non of the weaknesses.
Vampires are simply arrogant and that always ends up biting them in the end.
They could have done what medieval knights did in peace time, tournaments.
In other words, they took things for granted.
I agree in part, although to be fair in Cho's case particularly she was fihting Alucard which she knew was a vampire and also knew was Dracula's son. So I thinkof all them at least she wouldn't have unerestimated her opponent by that logic since she knew she was up against another vampire
@@randomguy4989 Cho's problem is that she only saw Alucard as a threat and dismissed the other two as unimportant weaklings, letting Sypha blindside her with a fatal attack. None of the generals knew how to work together.
And then she dies in the matter of 10 seconds to Sypha, The End.
Yeah season 2 was garbage.

Back View Season 2 was really good I don't see how it was bad. Plus Sypha is like the ultimate counter to her since her mist form is susceptible to being frozen and done in.

Some people are annoyed by Cho's death, but really it doesn't surprise me she got offed so easily, like the brother said, she spent a long time hidden where no one could reach her and no superior power could find her, the second she went up against the trio of vampire hunters packing magic and weapons specifically meant to kill her kind, she and all the rest got clapped
Just a quick info, when you say "the brother" you might think they are siblings like I initially did but they are not. So if you watch the scene where they both seduce Alucard, there's no need to get weirded out.

It’s probably a problem all the vampires besides Godbrand and Carmilla had. They were powerful from age, but their skills had dulled considerably.
Not to mention, Cho was easily dodging Alucard's attack by turning into mist. She was really giving him a hard time.
Still underwhelming af. Why hype them up and have scenes like these if they are just go out like a vampire soldier #23?
They couldn't have made a better back story for Cho. Letting warriors pass her guards just so she can kill them is so twisted... I love it lol.

There is a sinister undertone to the entire season 3, until the very end when it goes off the deep end with the story reveal about the Judge being a pedophile child killer!!!
Let’s review what Cho did to the Samurai, she defeated him, stripped him of some of his armor, strips him of his ponytail, cut him up while making a performance out of it, have his defeat witnessed by others, destroyed his katana
In doing all of that, Cho dishonored the Samurai in more than one why by Japanese tradition. Honor to a Samurai dictates in most of these offenses had to be repaid by Seppuki to reclaim the honor
But Cho denies him an honorable death or death at all, by not only stopping the Seppuku by apparently turned him into a vampire giving him eternal life. An eternity without ever being able to reclaim his honor
That’s the scope of how terrible Cho did to the Samurai, witnessed by the siblings and later subtly expressed in their narration to Alucard

I’m surprised she is dead. She can survive as a mist so why not being frozen and broken? Just put yourself back together, its the same element molecules or whatever just slowed down to a stop instead of scattered. Thaw, flow back together as water. Reform yourself.

Cho could still be alive. Her mist form could just be trapped in the ice, so all she'd have to do is wait for the ice to thaw and then come back together. Season 4 will tell us.

the ice keeps her from reforming.. if she goes back to physical form while still in shattered ice.. she is minced meat and pieces inside ice cubes
Especially after seeing this I love how Sypha disposed of Cho with almost contemptuous ease. Cho spent centuries toying with humans, even depriving those who were brave enough to stand up and fight her of an honorable death -- can't think of a better way for her to go out than getting casually squashed like an insect by someone who never had to care about the monster she was.

Her style is that of a geisha which are performers/courtesans in Japanese culture and use interpretive dances to tell a stories or convey emotions throughout their performances.
Her clothing and fighting style resembles a butterfly and because cho translates to butterfly.
How cleverly the writers did that.

Cho was a terror in her home country. No one could touch her, and she looked all but invincible.
But against the likes of Alucard, Sypha and Trevor? She was little more than fodder.

Cho never said a line on this show, yet she was one of the most intriguing characters to me. The way she turned into mist, her fight style, her looks and behavior, everything about her was mysterious.

@@mareklonestar7053 I am not sure how they are going to play it. What I do know is in the game he got his power from killing another vampire. He also recruited people into his vampire order and that they were once human. Isaac and Hecter are the exception because they want humanity to be controlled in Hecter's case or purified in Isaac case. Basically starting all over.
I don't think that's true. For Issac and Hector yes (though Hecktor didn't necessarily hate) but none of the vampires were shown to hate humans. They followed Dracula out of loyalty and devotion to his legend. Any Vampires (such as Godbrand) who opposed the complete eradication of humanity risked death.

in addition to the other comments here talking about her intentionally drawing it out, I really think that when she jammed her fingers into the back of ribs in that wound, he probably was not going to walk away from the fight alive and he knew it. He was only able to continue to fight by virtue of self-control, desperation, and most importantly adrenaline. Even if he had killed her then, he wasn't going to leave that castle alive.

So the fact that those 2 saying that they know her secrets and her moves was probably the main purpose of Cho intention to have an assassin to face her stronger than a warrior.But what they didn't know was that Cho wasn't even using her full capability which was shown against Alcuard was using her powers. As arrogant as Cho was, she was still careful not to overestimate as shown in Dracula's castle.
Indeed. Her ability to transform into mist made it abundantly clear that only someone with magical abilities similar to Sypha's was going to be the one to put her down. None of the twins weapons would have done anything close to hurting her, unless maybe they somehow managed to strike her heart, but finding it under all those robes is easier said than done.

This is my favorite scene, the fact that she allowed him to come near her and after defeating him she didn't let him die with honor (sepuku) and drained him, shows you true sadistic nature of a vampire.
This character deserve way more screentime and development then she got. She was super cool and interesting

Cho's death was hilarious. Cho was so unfamiliar to a real fight that she doesn't know how vulnerable she was in the ethereal form. Got frozen to death instantly with no chance of escape.
This feels like it could have been a boss fight in Sekiro.

Her movement is unrestricted yet fierce. Flowing like a silk scarf on the gentlest of breezes yet striking like the thinnest of needles. Such balance yet such strength from the smallest attacks. She waste no energy but deals strikes with such lethality........
It's art in motion so seamless youd think it was imaginary but the moment you realize it is real you feel shudders of fear and amazement sweep around your very soul!
This is the purest fighting style I've ever seen.

Poor, poor samurai. Don't worry brave soul, at least Sypha avenges you later on. Really the show shows you need insane experience, magic or numbers to defeat vampires.
It makes me disappointing that the generals of Dracula have been killed so quickly and easily, I think that It would have been more fun if most of them had escaped and became enemies of Trevor, Alucard, and Sypha. Each one with his own unique abilities would have a be good opponent. It would also have been a good plot to see them fighting each other to become the new leader of the vampires after the death of Dracula.

Dracula's generals are just basic fucking Vampires. Old ones for sure but still basic vampires. And they were facing a Belmont, a magician and Alucard. They never had a chance.

At last one of us can transform in smoke, and I would think that Old Ones vampires are beasts in combats with their centuries our thousands years of experiences, Trevor is good but he is a simple human, facing one of them on his own and winning should be a deadly challenge for him. Alucard is also relatively young for a vampire, even if his powers give more and advantage.

There's not difference between the Generals and the run of the mill vampires you see in Carmilla's forces, besides age and experience as you say.
Now guess what, the Belmonts have hunted Vampires for centuries. Successfully enough to make the Vampires fear them. So saying Trevor shouldn't be able to kill them while armed with the Morningstar whip is foolish. Sypha can use magic, it OP. And Alucard is literally the son of Dracula with a magic sword.
i love the idea that Cho is so skilled at hand to hand combat but had never faced someone adept at magic in combat before and didnt know what to do.
It makes sense that Cho got destroyed as quick as she did. After years of living in a secluded fortress, toying with her prey instead of having a proper fight, she definitely wasn’t prepared to face off against Sypha, Trevor, and Alucard.

You don't need to do that all the time. We romanticize battles because of television and movies. A fight can end in moments. No big death speech, no last stand, nothing.
Yeah they felt like just stand-ins for the show to say "look at Dracula's reach and scale of influence through all these diversity hires." I really thought Cho was going to make a comeback this season.

@@TikisPlayhouse I wouldn't be quick to judge, magic in particular is not just for vampires in particular. Yes, it can kill them but it's very versatile rather than exclusively for vampires. She froze Cho into Ice when in Mist form, so the mist is still inside even when crushed as it gets released back into the atmosphere. We never really seen Cho die (Vampire ashes) so we'll need to wait for the next season.

That in mind, if she fought someone like trevor, alucard, or sypha, would she really stand a chance? Let alone 3 of em at once? @@TikisPlayhouse Arrogant has some relevance to one owns skill, to say she was arrogant would also imply she had some level of higher skill to work her arrogance out of. He never said she hid from superior forces he said her temple was secluded so no armies could find her, So this proves she is cunning - I'm not saying she is at the same level of Dracula but it proves she has some intelligence, no vampire could defeat an entire trained army without their own, even Dracula would struggle depending on the armies size (As a reference when we see Dracula fight some guards he slaughters them all with a little bit of damage but mostly just a slaughter-house)
Trevor and Alucard she would destroy, they would have no way to defeat her. Keep in mind this was their first time seeing a vampire have the ability to turn into Mist. (Even when a deadly wound is inflicted she can turn into mist and become invulnerable - shown when Alucard slashes her head) also, we don't know the max extent mist form can do but it does seem to be OP (saving one from death which would kill any other vamp) So Magic was the most effective counter to it, I don't see a sword or any of Alucards vampire tricks affecting her. The brother said "No superior power could end her" So we can deduce that mist form is a very rare skill (We don't see many vampires use it and we can even question if Dracula himself has it)
So overall, her ability was very interesting though she lacked true power like Dracula, she was very powerful with that one OP ability and who knows what else.
But yeah, it was a dumb plot-point to expand on her, all it did was make us want her to become a villain rather than stay dead. But who knows maybe they'll bring her back.
She’s dancing like it’s performance art and he’s fighting for his life. Love the choreography of this scene. It conveys so much of Cho’s personality and subsequently the egomania that led to the downfall of the vampire generals
It's a shame they killed off Cho so quickly. She could've been an interesting villain if they'd kept her around

@@TikisPlayhouse Yeah but it would've been nice to have that sub plot drawn out a bit more, rather than it just feeling rushed and like an afterthought. Every enemy they come up against should have more time taken to explore who they are, what their motivations are, how they can overcome them etc rather than just "oh here's a really strong bad guy" them kill them in 5 seconds. The show does character building well in some areas but not in others.

Her lethality and grace still mesmerizes me.
I have a great respect for the warrior who fought to the end and decided to end himself off as a true fighter.

The elegance in the fight was superb. We need more of these flashbacks with vampire Cho.
Too bad she died so quickly. She had the potential to offer more to the plot with this small clip of herbackstory.

Seem to recall back in my senior year of high school learning about the samurai. One particular point that caught my attention was that if a samurai is dishonored in any fashion, they must commit Seppuku. Cho outright denied the samurai in this clip that option.
The generals deserved more screen time
Cho having one of the most powerful vampire abilities and yet falling so quickly to magic is such an interesting part of the show.
The sheer artistry and mastery of the animation... this is aggressively beautiful. This scene stayed with me and left a big impression.

I always thought she was the coolest designed vamp
She is my absolute favorite character in castlevania and while I'm so dissapointed not to see more of her, I understand why and how she died so quickly. She spent so long in her palace, surrounded by those weaker than her, never challenging herself, never learning or growing from failures. She was a big fish but she kept herself in a very small pond, it's no surprise that as soon as she left and faced anything even slightly challenging, she croaked. Unlike the other generals who spent their immortal lives learning and fighting and growing, she wanted peace and comfort. She was too focused on being elegant and wasn't willing to get her hands dirty for victory. She especially wasn't good at fighting in a team with the other generals.
The first time I saw this scene I thought the narrator said"Cho was ASIAN and arrogant" than I watched again and realised he said ANCIENT.
She was a particularly vicious monster, humiliates him and then denies him an honorable death.
This show is just perfect bro, I really wish it lasts a really long time and I hope they put more episodes in a season.
Some things I luv from this fight scene: the way the blood splatters down from the ceiling rain, the music as it crescendos with Cho's strikes, the way Cho dances and closes her eyes, literally playing with her food
I'm not convinced at all that Cho is dead she's seems so interesting and the poi t they brought her up again in such a big way convinces me she isn't really dead

When the trio (Alucard, Trevor and Sypha) went to Dracula's castle and started to kill all the other vampires, Cho was the only one who we didnt see her corpse. Also, the way she was "killed" and her ability to transform into smoke may have granted the chance to survive
Often frozen people that are smashed to pieces just don´t come back to life mist or not and the only instance i have seen about that not working it was sheer plot armor.
@@jackhammertwo1 well i mean she's a vamire and mist at the time and she never killed in any vampire killing way (stake/sunlight/morningstar etc) so there's a chance she could be alive but likely not

This season was so short. I watched the those thing the day it was released. They should really consider making their episodes longer at least.

Alexander Platypus right. They have the story but they might lose us with splitting it up so much but I think they are a underground start up company creating this with a small budget and small number of people which if that’s the case then I completely understand but time is money lol.
What are you talking about? An episode is average 25-27 minutes, and season 3 has 10 episodes.
Do you actually believe animation 45 minutes 12 times is easy? Because it took 3 years to release season 3.

Hoovy no ones complaining at all. I said they should consider making their episodes longer bc personally for me this season could of offered more plot than it did this season. Also I do realize animation takes time. Not sure if their budget is small or their film company is a starter but either way as much time as they take they might as well add more detail in for the viewer experience since we are waiting and 25 minutes is not shit bro lol

It explains how in history
Monsters were perceived as gods and monsters and kings and wizards
But in reality they were just powerful people with technology and knowledge more advanced than others
Its graceful in a way
You ever notice this that, when Cho was fighting in the castle she had other abilities that were not shown to the siblings or too the people. Meaning whatever Cho was doing for fun was just to break their hopes if they ever come close to what they realize. It's all a game to her.
She is a picture of grace, elegance and utter brutality all once.
The music is incrediably fitting
I do not think she's dead. She was in her mist form when she got frozen it's possible once the ice melted she reformed somewhere else and is no doubt returning to Japan.
thats exactly what happened. She's back at her court after seeing how horrible dracula's war went.
I loved Cho I wish we saw more of her she seemed so interesting and mysterious there was definitely more to her and I wish we saw that

Okay so this flashback can only convey two scenarios when it comes to Cho.
1. She's not dead and might come back in Season 4 possibly to be a serious villain with potential.
2. The writers wasted her by killing her off so early and quickly by Sypha and this backstory is completely irrelevant filler because she's dead anyway so who cares...
Also SPOILERS:
They waste Sumi and Taka by having Alucard kill them because out of nowhere they suddenly believe that he was lying to them
Not irrelevant at all, this was foreshadowing sumi and takkas betrayal - highlights their years of abuse and subsequent psychopathy. Also shows how they analyses peoples weaknesses- in this case it would be alucards longing for connection, which enabled them to potentially kill him.

@@Julius_Smith Funnily enough...the analyzing weaknesses thing after watching how a fight goes over and over again is how you beat bosses in the actual games. CV is a game of patterns when it comes to the boss fights, and if you aren't heal-spamming you're probably learning slowly but surely through trial and error (and in the harder games, quite a bit of dying) how to dodge attacks, wait for a good opening to wail on them, and what kinds of attacks they're weak to.
I cant stop rewatching this scene. It's a horrifyingly beautiful display through Cho's stunning death dance, and the samurai's terrible, humiliating death.
I applaud the creators.
Have to say, I like how this scene lowkey explains why the Belmonts used a whip against vampires.
- Most weapons require you to get close to your enemy to use effectively, which puts a potential vampire hunter at a massive disadvantage when they're fighting something stronger, tougher and faster than them. But a whip is a supersonic weapon, has good range and hurts. Especially if you can tip it with silver or something that hurts them.
- Swords, axes, spears and maces, they can all break or get snapped when grabbed by an enemy. But a whip, especially one that's been consecrated, well, a vampire is going to lose a hand and then their life.
And we must not gonna talk about that one time where a Belmont try and punching Dracula face as well
